"You are if someone is with you," Natasha said. Jason didn't know why, but she set him on edge, not in the same way the Hunters or the Amazons did, he just knew not to let his guard down around her. The way she looked at him was like if he did something even slightly wrong, she wouldn't hesitate to kill him.
"You won't need to come out here much anyway, we just have the hanger over there and the outdoor training facility," Rhodes said, pointing out the hanger doors. The rest of the hanger was designed to look like the hilltop.
Inside, they showed Jason the common room, the conference room, the library, and the rec room. Scott found it a little offensive that Jason didn't seem to take any interest in the arcades or the widescreen tv.
"Just because I am a teenager doesn't mean I like video games." Jason stated clearly as they continued to the gyms which Jason did show interest in.
"What do you like to do for fun Jason?" Sam asked.
Jason frowned, trying to think. His whole life he was raised to fight for the legion. Sure, Leo and Piper had been showing him some things he could do in his free time, but he didn't get much of that, even after the war ended. "Just hanging out with my friends," He finally answered after a full minute of thinking how he was going to answer the question.
"And what do you and your friends do for fun?" Scott asked.
"Can I have a rain check on that question?" he asked, trying to give them a small smile. The three Avengers were very confused at this answer. What kind of kid doesn't know what he likes to do for fun? After the tour, they all met up in the dining room for dinner.
Everyone was talking in small groups. Bucky tried to follow along with some of the conversations, but he just kept watching the two teens. The kids were making Bucky nervous. His body was telling him to prepare for a fight, but he saw no reason these kids would want to, or be able to, hurt him. He knew they were dangerous, just not how dangerous, but right now they just didn't look it. Percy seemed completely relaxed and showed no outward signs of being a threat, while Jason also seemed relaxed, if a little uncomfortable.
"What? Jason too!" Clint shouted. The aforementioned teen turned to the conversation with a confused look, which also snapped Bucky out of his thoughts.
"What are you talking about?" Steve asked, also turning to Clint and Scott's conversation.
"Those two!" Clint pointed at Percy and Jason in comical anger. "Don't like the rec room or have any interest in playing video games!"
"I didn't know it affected you so much," Percy said, now looking bored. He put his head in his hand and watched some of the Avengers pout.
"I don't understand the big deal either," Steve said, also wondering why some of the Avengers seemed upset.
"I thought all teens these days liked video games," Sam muttered.
"Saying 'these days' makes you sound old, and I don't understand why it is a big deal." Percy sighed as if he had gone through this before.
"Have you played a video game or any arcade games?" Scott asked, determined to get to the bottom of this.
"No," both boys stated, still not really understanding why it was such a big deal.
"There that's the problem!" Clint spoke seeming proud of himself to have gotten to the root of the issues.
"Hi everyone!" a new voice spoke; a boy came walking into the dining room. He was a few years younger than Jason, maybe fourteen or fifteen, with brown hair and brown eyes. He had a childish smile on his face and was wearing jeans and a long-sleeve shirt with a backpack slung over his shoulder.
"Peter, I didn't think you were coming over until tomorrow!" Tony said, smiling outwardly while internally beating himself up for forgetting that Peter was coming over the day after they also brought over two very dangerous teens.
"Yeah, but I thought I would stop by since patrol was going slow." Only then did Peter notice the two new people in the room. "Umm, hi. I'm Peter," he said. He acted a lot less outgoing then he had a moment before.
"Hi, I'm Percy and this is my friend Jason." The black-haired teen smiled and gave a small wave.
"Are you guys new Avengers?" Peter asked, coming closer to the group.
"Nope. We're prisoners." Percy said with a light smile. Peter looked confused.
"Umm, what?" he asked, wondering if it was a joke.
"The Avengers deemed us too dangerous to be left unsupervised." Jason stated, his tone also light.
"Way to hit the nail on the head kid," Tony muttered. "And we didn't deem you dangerous, SHIELD did."
"Don't you guys work for SHIELD?" Percy asked, but his question was ignored.
"Wait, so you're the Avengers' prisoners?" Peter asked, trying to comprehend these two as dangerous people. Sure, they looked intimidating especially Percy but they seemed…nice. His instincts were usually right.
"Yep." Both Jason and Percy voiced, though Percy popped the p.
"Peter, it's alright. They agreed to work with the Avengers for the foreseeable future." Steve explained when he noticed the younger teen become more nervous.
"Are you a part of the Avengers?" Jason asked.
"No, I'm not, at least not yet." Peter stated, shaking his head. He then backtracked, realizing he had said the wrong thing. "Umm, no, I mean, I am just a normal teenager that has an internship at Stark Industries." Peter quickly tried to save himself cursing himself for his slip up.
"Sure, and is that what they call the Avengers Initiative thing…a Stark internship?" Percy asked.
"What? No. " Peter spoke frantically, shaking his head and his hands wildly.
"Dude, relax. I can tell you are a fighter even though you try to hide it," Percy said. The Avengers were shocked that he figured it out so soon. Since Peter looked like a normal nerdy kid, it was even hard for them to believe he was Spiderman sometimes.
"I thought you said you didn't know who we were?" Rhodey asked, his eyes narrowing at both Percy and Jason, who looked confused.
"No, we were telling the truth. We don't know who you are. What does that have to do with knowing a warrior when we see one?" Jason asked, a confused look on his face.
"Wait, you don't know who the Avengers are?" Peter asked, getting over his panic over his identity.
"Not really. I heard about them when I was looking for you." Jason said, gesturing to Percy.
"And I got kidnapped by them." Percy sighed. "In fact, I still don't know most of your names." He glanced at all of the gathered superheroes.
"You two are the weirdest teens I have ever met. You act like Steve when it comes to technology, and you have never heard of the Avengers" Tony sighed, exasperated.
"Most of us don't keep up with what happens in the outside world...we don't get newspapers, and we don't have access to the news, so it's not all that surprising that we didn't know who you guys were." Jason stated with a shrug. He didn't mention that they had their own problems to deal with.
