Viona's POV
My gaze caught Veronica. She raised one eyebrow, that same arrogant little smirk on her face.
I ran a hand through my hair and glanced down at the black fitted dress covering the small life growing inside me. I felt a flicker of guilt that this was what the baby had to listen to instead of quiet classical music.
"Or is this what all of you actually want? To be led by someone who suddenly reappeared after being written off as dead? Shouldn't her motives be the first thing you question? As far as I remember, Rafael never placed her name on the list of Kingston inheritors or shareholders.
"Kingston has managed just fine without heavy involvement from its heir. So why are you all so willing to be played by someone who doesn't even carry the Kingston name?"
I gave Jane a small nod. She immediately brought up the LCD screen, displaying the summary of Veronica Delano's darker business history—the one I had quietly collected over the years of working beside her.
