Third Person's POV
Rafael's office was thick with tension. The four of them sat around the low table, files scattered between coffee cups and half-empty glasses, but no one looked fully present. Each person seemed locked inside their own thoughts even while the discussion continued. The air felt heavy, the kind that made every small movement noticeable.
Viona looked more worn the longer the briefing went on. Dimitri, Jane, and Rodrique had laid everything out with careful detail, and the weight of it showed on her face. She kept one hand on her stomach, the other occasionally fidgeting with the soft fabric of her blue home dress.
"So the conclusion of all this," she said, voice rough, "is that Veronica wants to force a divorce between Rafael and me?"
Jane exhaled across from her. "Legally, if she submits the contract and the divorce papers, the acknowledgment should apply from six years ago. Even before the triplets were born. So the inheritance and—"
