Chapter 3 - Chapter 3

"Your highness" yelled a tired maid.

"Please stop running." the maid said, hurriedly chasing after the little princess.

"But father just returned from another successful hunt from Pyrah!" the little girl whined.

"Nobody can meet him before me!" the young girl declared before increasing her speed.

"But we are almost to his study, your highness" the maid said but the little girl was long gone.

The little princess knocked once before bursting through the doors of her father's study. Hearing the noise her father turned around with a glare before smiling and catching the little princess in his arms.

"Father" sighed the second born of the royal family.

"Could you not indulge her?" the second eldest said pointing to the youngest child of the royal family.

"It's because you indulge her that's why she keeps causing problems." The second prince said in a disapproving tone

"If things keep going like this I fear she might find it hard to become a respectable lady." the second prince said in a disapproving tone.

The oldest prince chuckled as he watched his little sister crawl up the father's shoulders to his neck region.

"She is just having a little fun." said the eldest son.

"And who wouldn't count themselves lucky to be in the presence of my beautiful sister." the eldest son said as the youngest managed to secure her legs on her father's shoulders.

The second born of the Castillia family shook his head in disbelief.

"Girls her age have learnt proper etiquette and how to carry themselves. She is no longer a child" the second born complained.

Hearing what the second eldest said, the youngest gasped indignantly and said " I too, know how to carry myself"

"Children!" the father exclaimed with booming laughter.

"This is hardly anything to fight over." the king said, dropping his youngest gently to the floor and ruffling the hair of the two older boys.

Moving to his seat the King gestured for all three of them to take a seat in front of the table and as they did the resemblance between all three of them was made apparent.

The three children of the Castillia family shared the same silver coloured hair and dark blue eyes as their father. They had similar face structure, a button nose and the same pale skin but that was where their similarity ended.

The first born Alhoran named after the morning light was blessed by the spirit of the earth. He had a cool persona and a level head and a laid-back attitude.

The second born Zechra named after the plains of memory was rigid and strict despite being blessed by the spirit of the wind. He was extremely logical, swift with judgement and had a discerning eye.

The third born Lune named after the full moon was blessed by the spirit of fire. She was a menace but she was loved by everyone in the castle despite being at the centre of one disaster or the other.

"Alhoran," said the king.

"I hear from your teachers that you are progressing rapidly in your sword training." the king said with a look of pride on his face.

Alhoran shrugged half-heartedly though he couldn't keep the grin off his face.

"I am still practicing with a wooden sword but hopefully, by the end of the year I will be able to spar with the real ones too." the king nodded with pride.

"And you Zechra?" the king said, nodding in the second born's direction.

"How is your archery practice going?"

"It's going well father. My teacher was amazed when I managed to shoot targets at a range of 35 meters" Zechra said, puffing out his chest a little. The king smiled before moving on to Lune.

"And you?" The king said looking at the youngest

"I know that I don't need to ask but how is thinkering going?" the king said with a wink.

Lune smiled before pulling out a metal spider from her pocket and placing it on the King's hand.

"You made this?" The King said, picking up the metal spider.
