As she approached the dungeon, Annette noticed that it was different from the one in the Salvador household. It was colder and far more suffocating. Fear slithered down her spine, and the lump in her throat thickened as she tried to swallow.
As they ventured deeper, the feeling only worsened. The nauseating stench that clogged the air made everything even more unbearable.
Finally, they came to a stop in front of one of the cells. One of the guards stepped forward and unlocked the door, its creaking sound echoing through the hallway.
"Go in."
The bald man shoved her inside, nearly causing her to lose her footing. She glared at him, hatred and rage burning in her eyes.
She was going to kill the bastard.
Seeing her expression, he chuckled mockingly before locking the cell door and walking away, leaving Annette alone in the overwhelming silence that followed.
