Chapter 110 - Chapter 110: Water Wyvern (Part 1)

I sprang back as a Dragonoid leapt in towards me from the right, the Monster zipping past me as I got out of the way in time, before swiftly shuffling across to the left as another came swooping down towards me from above, avoiding it as it closed in and landed on the muddy ground with a loud splat.

It sprang at me and slashed at my knees with its claws, which I leapt over before stepping onto the top of its head and leaping off, right as the other one came flying towards me with a roar.

I whipped my blade across as it closed in and swung its claws at me while I was still in the air, deflecting its slash and severing a couple of its fingertips upon impact, blood pouring out as it shot past me with a growl of pain.

The instant I landed, the other one rushed in towards me from behind, its jaws opening wide as it closed in on me.

I spun around, tossing my blade up as I reached out and grabbed the ends of both its jaws, forcing its mouth shut as I slammed its jaws together, before lifting it off its feet and hurling it towards the other one as it began to rush in, the Monsters colliding against each other and collapsing in a heap.

The one with the bleeding fingers got back up and shot towards me with a snarl, before I tilted my head across as it drove its claws towards my face, grabbing its forearm as its claws shot past my left cheek, tightening my grip before driving my blade straight through its stomach, blood pouring out of the Monster's mouth as I gave the blade a sharp twist.

I yanked the blade back out before slamming my foot onto the stab wound, the Dragonoid stumbling back with a sharp snarl of pain, before I sprang up as the other one came flying towards me with a vicious roar, lifting my right foot up before swinging it down as I closed in, my heel slamming against the top of its head and caving its skull in.

The bottom of its head collided against the ground with a loud splat and sunk into the muddy dirt as my heel dug into the top of its head, sprays of blood bursting out of its head as several spots across the skin on its head tore open, shards of its skull poking out.

Huh, even though I've been mainly focusing on my Agility, and therefore putting less into Strength and Vitality, I still exert a fair bit of brute force.

Though, I really have to strain myself at full strength to do this much damage, which is only possible when I have a clear opening where I can land such a straightforward hit with absolute certainty.

These Dragonoids are actually pretty tough physically, but they're low in intelligence, their attacks are pretty easy to read, and they're pretty aggressive and easily provoked.

Anyway, with this, the forty-ninth floor has been cleared, so all that's left now is the Boss Room.

It's hard to say what the Dungeon Boss will be though...it's possible that it could be a Critical Level Monster, same as the Greater Demon I fought a few months ago.

But I'm a lot more powerful now than I was back then...a Critical Level Threat is still a fairly tall order for me with my current stats, but it's a different story with Enrage.

"Alright, let's finish this. Though, depending on the Threat Level of the Dungeon Boss, we might not be able to give you much help, Kai," Remarked Lector, as I finished extracting the Cores and using Devour and Drain.

"So, just do what I've been doing this whole time, then, which is to say, absolutely nothing," Responded Elicia dryly.

"I mean, you never know, maybe you'll be able contribute something after all," Suggested Will optimistically.

"Whatever, I just want this to be over, already."

"Let's get going, then. All that's left to do is kill the Dungeon Boss and we're done," I pointed out.

"Yeah, true...okay, let's get this over with."

We then began making the final stretch through the Dungeon, heading across the remaining distance through the forty-ninth floor, before the tunnel leading up to the final floor came into sight.

As we headed up the tunnel, Will confirmed that he could sense a presence up ahead, the Dungeon Boss.

The tunnel was a big longer and steeper than any I've come across before, I wonder why?

We slowed our pace a bit as the end of the tunnel came into sight, I drew out Desecrator as we got closer to the opening, my eyes widening slightly as I stepped onto the Boss Room.

In the middle of the room, taking up most of the space, was a dark, murky lake, and based on the ripples across the surface, there was something lurking.

The lake was surrounded by dozens of trees and thick foliage, with vines hanging from the trees, the ground the same muddy muck as the rest of the Dungeon. However...the spot by the tunnel was dry.

"Well, what do you know? Looks like you get to do something, after all, Elicia. We won't get zapped over here, so let loose and blast the water," I remarked, a smirk spreading out across her face as she stepped forward.

"Ohh, gladly! Here's the strongest Spell I've got!" She exclaimed, intense electric sparks crackling around her arms as she raised her hands towards the lake, a massive burst of lightning erupting in front of her hands, before compressing and intensifying as she charged it up, chanting as she locked on, "Now, [Grand Lightning Cannon]!"

A rapid, devastating blast of lightning burst forth, bathing the surrounding area in a bright electric glow, the blast slamming against the surface of the water and exploding into dozens of intense, dancing streaks of lightning, which spread out across the surface as waves of intense ripples spread out across the water, right as a loud splash echoed out.

A deafening, furious roar rang out as a large figure burst out of the water, narrowing its eyes at us as it loomed over the lake, spreading out a large pair of wings and hovering above the water with a deep, threatening growl.

"S-Seriously? The hell is a Monster like this doing in a Mid Level Dungeon?!" Exclaimed Lector in alarm.

"No doubt about it...that's a Water Wyvern," Remarked Ferna with a grimace, a bead of sweat trickling down the side of her head...
