The next morning, Morgana went to wake the pair at ten, as they had received a message instructing them to arrive at the Academy's Med Bay by one o'clock for a mandatory check-up with Head Nocturne to assess and record any new changes to their bodies.
When Morgana drew back the bed curtains, she tutted and quickly snapped a picture to send to Morgranna, who replied with a matching "tsk." The reason was that Chaos and Bane had stayed in the same positions they'd fallen asleep in—Bane sprawled across Chaos, his head resting on Chaos's chest, and his arms wedged between Chaos's two sets of arms, giving the impression they were embracing. Chaos still hugged Bane tightly with all four arms to keep him from slipping off.
Before Morgana could say anything, Chaos's eyes snapped open; he instinctively tensed his arms protectively around Bane before relaxing again. The sudden movement woke Bane as well, both of them blinking in the light pouring through the curtains.
"Good morning. Time to wake up—your check-up with Head Nocturne is scheduled soon to examine and record your body's changes," Morgana informed them cheerfully.
"Good morning, Morgana," they both replied sleepily.
They untangled themselves and got up, crossing to the washbasins to wash their faces and brush their teeth. After discarding their sleeping robes, they dressed in their Class uniforms and brushed their hair. Morgana tied Chaos's hair, as he preferred not to leave it loose.
Uncertain about his hairstyle, Chaos let Bane choose: Bane suggested a six-strand plait from Chaos's crown down to just above the colored tips. Chaos agreed, and Morgana braided it for him, securing it with a black-and-violet fastener just above the colored tips.
Both manifested their horns and halos before heading downstairs for breakfast and their much-anticipated coffee on the balcony. As they ate and later relaxed with their coffee, Morgranna explained what to expect from the check-up.
Morgranna handed them labelled bentos and drinks to tide them over, since their late wake-up and appointment would delay lunch. Afterwards, they sat in companionable silence, savouring their coffee.
At eleven-thirty, they departed, as Morgranna explained the carriage ride to the Awakened Med Bay would take about an hour. Onboard, Chaos, excited to see Head Nocturne again, told Bane all about her, and Bane was equally eager to meet her.
After some time, Chaos grew visibly restless. Bane, amused, shrank to his small form so Chaos could calm himself by holding Bane in his right arms. Chaos cradled Bane contentedly, making Bane giggle at his antics.
Upon arrival, Head Nocturne and the Nursery Elders waited at the entrance. Chaos disembarked with Bane still securely nestled in his right arms. The carriage parked itself as the Elders and Head Nocturne looked on, checking over Bane and shaking their heads in amusement at the sight.
They all exchanged greetings and entered, chatting animatedly. Nearby students, witnessing the arrival, filmed everything and uploaded it to the student forums, where comments soon exploded in real time.

Reaching the Infernal Ward, the group asked Bane to enlarge. They struggled to contain their laughter at Chaos's reaction and Bane's response.
As soon as they made the request, Chaos shook his head in exaggerated denial. Small Bane raised a single eyebrow, causing Chaos to pout dramatically before reluctantly setting Bane down to allow him to grow.
With Bane enlarged, real introductions began. Chaos said, "This is Celestial Elder Soleil and his Mate, Celestial Demon Sky; Immortal Elder Lucius and his Mate, Shen; Mortal Elder Kyle and his Mate, Sean; Elder Caine and his Mate, Lucifer; and Head Nocturne and her Mate." Bane greeted each politely, receiving kind greetings in return.
"I'm happy to see you both settling in so well," Head Nocturne said warmly. "Could you separate now so that we can check and record your individual forms?"
Bane burst into giggles at her request as Chaos pouted, and the adults watched their antics with raised brows.
Once Bane composed himself, he explained, "Er is refusing to separate—he thinks if he does, Yi will get more time with me, which isn't true, but he's adamant!"
The adults shook their heads in amused exasperation.
"Typical! I should have expected this from that brat," Elder Caine muttered, face showing his frustration.
"It'll only take a few minutes. You'll all be in different rooms for the scans," Head Nocturne reassured them, smiling at Er's antics.
With that reassurance, Chaos finally separated into Chaos Yi and Er, allowing everyone to see their individual forms—the Awakening had left only minor changes in their facial features and the number of horns and arms. Otherwise, there was little difference between their fused and separate forms.
Head Nocturne quickly led them to separate rooms to scan each individually, then had Chaos fuse once more for a fused-form scan. All returned to the reception, where Bane shrank to a manageable three feet and sat in Chaos's lap, embraced by four arms while the adults looked on in amused approval.
While waiting for the readings so they could discuss them, the conversation turned to Chaos's behaviour and Bane's reaction.
"So, Chaos is displaying typical Twin Demon behaviour—almost constant physical contact to stave off restlessness?" Head Nocturne asked. Bane nodded in agreement.
"And how do you feel about it?" she continued.
"I don't mind at all. Honestly, I think it's kind of cute," Bane replied with a mischievous grin. Elder Caine started to grumble, and Demon Lucifer shook her head in exasperation, looking ready to smack him.
Just then, the readings arrived, and Head Nocturne shared them for review and discussion.
Head Nocturne displayed the readings, her expression thoughtful as she glanced at Bane, Chaos, and the gathered Elders. She addressed everyone, pointing towards the readings shown in holoform.
"All right, let's review the results. As expected, both Chaos and Bane show marked energy fluctuations following their Awakening, though it's quite stable for two with such recent changes. Chaos, your vitals are strong — stronger than before the Awakening. Have you noticed any differences?" Head Nocturne asked.
"I feel more energetic, and sometimes I get restless unless Bane's with me. My senses are sharper, too." Chaos replied, his fingers tapping rhythmically on Bane.
"That aligns with what we see here—stronger bonds often intensify sensory perception and nervous energy." Elder Soleil remarked calmly.
"My readings seem normal on the surface. But my aura feels different. Almost brighter. Is that typical?" Bane asked.
"Yes, Bane. After an Oath-Awakening, such aura amplification is expected. You've also got increased resistance to fatigue, which is reassuring. Still, you and Chaos both seem to be stabilising each other; if you're separated, that restlessness could spike." Head Nocturne explained.
"It's rare to see two individuals adapt so fast. Have either of you experienced new abilities or changes in your transformation states?" Elder Lucius asked.
"Only minor — quicker shifts, maybe. Nothing major yet." Chaos replied.
"I can shrink and grow faster without feeling dizzy, and there's also a sense of... comfort when I stay close to Chaos," Bane replied as well.
"Your dual form remains remarkably balanced. Sometimes we see mismatched changes, but yours complement each other. It's fascinating." Elder Lucius remarked.
"That's what keeps your energies stable. We'll keep monitoring — especially since you clearly sync well. Any concerns or strange sensations?" Head Nocturne remarked.
"No, just that restlessness," Chaos replied.
"Only if you count Chaos holding onto me like a teddy bear," Bane replied with his signature devious grin.
The group chuckled. Head Nocturne finished, "Good. We'll schedule another check-in in a month. For now, continue as you are. You two make a wonderful pair."
Chais and Bane thanked them for their time and help, and left the Med Bay happy to head back to their Dorm.
As they left, the Elders and Head Nocturne continued their discussion and then prepared and sent a report to the Council for review. They also contacted the Head Masters to let them know that the Stats of Bane and Chaos were stabilising, they expected them to resume lessons on Monday, which was five days from now, giving them ample time to prepare as Chaos and Banes lessons were to follow the regular time frame which was from nine to four every day with two days off for the weekend.
They no longer condensed lessons, so each block was scheduled like the others, and if they managed to complete their lessons earlier, then they would have more free time to relax or train independently.

Meanwhile, some students who were present inside the Infernal Med Bay had filmed the entire time that Chaos and Bane were there and uploaded it to the forums, and comments were exploding again.

While riding the carriage back to their Dorm, Bane scrolled through the student forums, watching as everyone reacted to the latest posts. With his trademark devious grin, he told Chaos about his plan. Chaos just sighed and agreed, thinking Bane was the one who truly thrived on chaos.
Bane messaged Morgana and Morgranna, asking them to send the picture they had taken that morning so he could post it on Conclave. Both agreed, having already been told about Bane's plan by Chaos, and sighed at Bane's antics.
Bane uploaded the screenshot of the picture Morgana had taken and sent to Morgranna, along with Morgranna's response. The comments exploded, making his grin even more wicked. Chaos paid it no mind—if Bane was happy, he could do as he pleased, as long as Chaos got to hold onto him like this.
