Theodore finished eating with Kai, who gently wiped the boy's mouth before cupping his chin, looking at him with deep affection.
"Anything wrong? You can talk to your papa," Kai said. He saw all the signs that his cub was battling something internal. He wanted Theodore to open up so he could help, but his usual tactics weren't working out quite right.
"Talk to me, son. I am here for you. Or is it your new abilities making you feel this way? Trust me, there is nothing to be afraid of." He ruffled Theodore's hair playfully.
"My one and only beautiful boy, you know you're going to be a rare kind of beauty—prettier than any girl I've seen in a lot of ways."
It wasn't a lie. Even at a young age, Theodore was becoming stunning. His long eyelashes gave him a delicate demeanor, and his jawline was already smoothing out into a handsome shape; it was obvious that as he grew older, he would only get better.
