Chapter 6 - CRUSHED

Elena's heels echoed against the floor as she pushed opened the glass door of the parking lot.

The night hit her just as she stepped out, but it wasn't enough to heal her broken heart.

Her grip on her bag tightened, as if holding onto it will stop her from breaking apart completely.

Elena fumbled with her keys when she tried to open her car door, she even dropped the keys twice, before she was finally able to press the unlock button.

Immediately she slided into the drivers seat, she closed the door harder than she was meant to.

Upon entering the car, Elena yanked her wig off her head first, throwing it to the passenger seat.

Then she removed her hoodie, and each piece of item, she had used as her disguise.

 Then comes the scream.

 Arrchggg.

she screamed at the top of her voice, tears running down her cheeks.

her fingers were on the steering wheel, her nails digging into the leader.

Seconds later she began hitting the steering wheel with trembling hands, over and over again, the horn blaring non stop. But she didn't stop, her hand hurt but it wasn't helpful.

She rest her head on the headrest, her eyes closed, her lips trembling.

Every second Elena's mind replayed the look in his eyes, the coldness, the way he had removed his hand from hers, the vernom in his voice when he spoke.

Her sob grew louder she didn't care if anyone saw her, or if anyone heard her.

And for the first time in years, Elena who was always the strongest of all, the one always laughing in front of the camera, the perfect daughter allowed herself to break down.

Elena had some many questions running through her mind, which she needed answers to, so she took out her phone from her bag, she stared at the screen, Ethan's name already there, she did not remember clicking it, her fingers hac dailed his number out of habit, like she had done multiple times in the past.

Her thumb paused over the call button trembling.

I deserve an explanation and he owes me one, and just like that she hit the call button.

The ringing tone, filled the car, each ring a stab to her chest, her free hand gripped at her dress, the stones, scratching at her skin as if reminding her of the night she had dreamt of.

It rang once, twice and on the third ring someone answered.

 But it wasn't Ethan's voice.

Hello' A woman's voice sweet and curious filled Elena's ear. Who is this?

Elena froze, she knew was what going on but she was still in denial, she blinked trying to calm herself.

I...I really need to speak to Ethan she stammered.

There was silent for a moment and then she heard the woman again.

Someone named Elena is calling, who is she and what does she want from you at this time.

Elena's heart beat increase, every nerve in her body, tightened as she wanted to bear what he was going to say.

Oh you mean Elena. His voice was dismissive like he was referring to a stranger.

She is not someone important, just end the call and come have dinner.

She felt her whole world shatter at those words.

After five years and this is what she gets.

Her grip on the phone loosen and it fell to the passenger seat.

And just like that she felt uncomfortable just sitting in he parking lot.

She put the key into the ignition, twisting it with more force than necessary, slamming the gear into life and with no destination in mind she drove into the night.

 Unknown Pov

Lucas knew that he should have been celebrating after all the shut he had taken would get his director off his back. But instead he felt a tiny bit of guilt towards her. He did not hear a word they had said but he knew Nobody deserved to be treated the way she had been treated. He had seen how sad she looked when she thought the man wasn't going to show up, and how teary her eyes had been when he walked away.

As if the universe was walking in his favor Elena stepped outside, she looked nothing like the Elena Moore than was on the screen at that moment he raised his camera to get more shots but he stopped himself.

When her engine came to live he followed her. He wanted to see where Elena Moore goes to when she is heart broken.

 ***

Elena Moore

Elena drove with shaking hands, her phone which was on the passenger seat kept buzzing with notifications, probably her friends were still waiting to celebrate unaware of the fact that her world had just collapsed.

She could not let them see her this way, so instead of driving to them she face an entirely different route.

Almost immediately it began to rain.

Her grip on the steering wheel tightened, her knuckles had already began to turn white.

Elena turned on the wipers, but it did not do much help, because the whole place was getting dark and the rain was pouring down heavily. Her heart began pounding fast, she couldn't drive in the rain, she was nervous she could not breath, her hand instantly flew to her chest as she felt it began to feel tight.

 Damn it she muttered.

As if that was not enough, she heard a loud roar of thunder, followed by lighting, her whole body jerked forward, her heart skipped, she slammed her foot on the break hard and fast, without a second thought.

Her car came to a stop in the middle of the high way.

She was still trying to wrap her head around the whole thing when, she began hearing loud horns from behind her.

Get out of the way a driver shouted from his car.

Go kill yourself somewhere else another driver said, while driving past her.

But she didn't care, she couldn't move, her body felt stiff.

She leaned forward against the steering wheel, burning her face in her hands, the sound of thunder playing over and over in her head.

Elena was not just scared of the storm she was scared of everything going on in her life at that moment.

Then through her side mirror, someone's movement caught her eyes.

She could not see the person's face clearly, and she was not really sure he was coming for her. So she just stayed were she was.
