Chapter 51 - 51 | Plasma & VermillionVolt

[Max's POV]

The Behemoth let out a loud howl, causing electric sparks along with a shockwave to spread out with me as an aim. I immediately erected a mana shield and retaliated with thick electric bolts targeted at his joints to falter his balance.

However, contrary to my expectation, the bolts only left slight burns on its fur, which only made it angrier.

It jumped straight at me with its claw charging with electricity.

I quickly floated to the side and changed the shape of one of the orbs to a thick lightning rope to tackle his leg and disturb his landing.

The crackling rope wrapped around its hind leg, but instead of the Behemoth being misbalanced, I was pulled slightly towards it.

I immediately let go of the rope and turned it back to an orb as it floated towards me. I clicked my tongue. "Tchh… The only stat where I am not infinite is strength."

Before the wolf could get stable and turn around to attack me again. I just rained down consistent thunder on its body to prevent it from gaining semblance.

"Well, pure lightning is not going to cut it. It takes too long and does too little damage. I spoke as I kept attacking it non-stop, "Well, let's see if I can combine 2 elements first."

I stopped my attack; the body of Behemoth had lost its shine and was filled with charred fur and burn marks.

It whimpered, then growled fiercely as it turned towards me; its eyes were full of hatred with a menacing red glow.

It howled again, with pain this time, but still sent out a powerful shockwave. Its charred fur also started getting back to its natural sky blue color.

My mana shield, in conjunction with the wind barrier, easily withstands the electric shockwave. Meanwhile, I focused on adding the piercing property of lightning with the burning property of fire.

A pointed lance took shape due to the merging of a lightning orb and a fire orb. The Tip of Lance was like melted fire with condensed electricity on its surface.

The long handle was a mixture of whitish-blue lightning and orange fire, giving it an ethereal look.

I grabbed the handle from the middle; the wolf watching me, ready for attack, also jumped towards me with both its front claws dipped in lightning, aiming for my head.

I backed away a little bit from my position and made a spear-throwing position. The flickering lightning and burning fire seemed ready to make a hole in the wolf.

"Thanks for being the first one to try my hybrid spell," I commented and threw the spear with my mana-pumped arm for extra strength in the throw.

The wolf had its mouth opened, ready to howl again, but my lance pierced into his mouth and came out of his stomach like it had passed through a butter slab.

The Behemoth's eyes dimmed, and it fell lifelessly on the ground.

The system panel flickered before me.

[You have awakened Plasma Affinity (Primordial)]

"One more element and affinity," I said as I created orbs that gave the look of burning lightning and crackling fire, Plasma Orbs.

"Next fights won't take this long," I commented and flew at high speed, leaving behind the disappearing body of Behemoth.

I flew at a decent speed, dispatching any monster that caught my eye while experimenting with plasma orbs.

I even took out a few monsters that were being eyed by a different group and were getting ready to siege them.

One player even shouted loudly, "Hey man, those monsters were our prey. Why did you attack them?"

I stopped, still floating a few meters above ground. I answered with a calm voice, "Did you guys attack any of the monsters yet?"

The player, slightly embarrassed, probably not expecting me to reply back, spoke with a slight stutter, "N-No."

"Does this particular area belong to you?" I further asked calmly.

"No." He swayed his head negatively; he wanted to say something, but he was stopped as a player came ahead and spoke.

"We are sorry, Mr. Max. He didn't know and spoke unnecessarily; please forgive his transgression," the other player spoke too humbly.

I raised my brows at his overhumbleness but dismissed further thinking and flew away, leaving the last words, "Hunt well."

I passed through Maelstrom Highlands, slaying monsters, including the mid-boss of this zone, Volt Titan.

A four-armed giant covered with electricity, a pure brute-force monster. I tackled his electric-powered punch and put a hole in his head with a well-timed plasma shot.

Next, I ventured into Tempest Ridge. Most monsters here were sky-born,, so this time all fightsinclude gliding and maneuvering through air.

It was good practice of my flying ability. I also faced the mid boss of this zone, Galeward Wyrm, A sky wyvern with high agility.

The 'Eclipsion' skill helped me greatly to keep up with him and pierce his hide with Plasma Lance.

After facing it, I went through the last zone, Voltrum Canyon, before heading to the center for the Realm Boss. I faced off with Shockscale Basilisk, Voltclaw Sabretooths, and Strombound Golems.

These monsters were not up to mid-boss level, but they put up a decent fight in groups but got annihilated by plasma shots and plasma arrows in the end.

The mid-boss of this zone, Lightning Colossus, was besieged by groups of 8 players, so I didn't wait and sped towards the central zone.

As I neared the central zone, Skyfury Nexus, the number of players increased, probably to attack the Realm Boss. I hurried towards the supposed center of this plateau so as not to give anyone a chance to kill the boss.

I came across a group of 5 players attacking the mid-boss of this zone, Storm Seraph. It was a lightning-elemental armored angel. I also left them and hurried towards the boss area, killing C and D rank monsters.

I was a short distance away from the center when a huge floating silhouette caught my eye. It had a huge body with enormous wings.

I increased my speed to close the distance; as I reached near, the image became clear.

A towering Titan with wings made of thunder spanning large distances. Its body was made of storm clouds, and electricity ran over its body like it was a playground.

The system panel came with information.

[Realm Boss – Azerion 'The Lord of Endless Storm']

[Rank – A]

[Skills – Storm Calamity, Feather Barrage, Cyclone Domain, Perfect Storm]

My first A-rank monster, and it was visually stunning and powerful. The Titan roared loudly, causing an increase in already failing lightning from the sky.

All players who heard the roar stopped for a second, then hurried towards the center. The risk was huge, but the allure of gaining points for even damaging the boss was very tempting.

I created orbs of crimson blood along with lightning and gave Plasma a little rest. I was itching for a good fight and to see what the mixture of lightning and blood would yield.

I also flew towards Boss; the Titan flapped his large wings suddenly, and a large storm of wind and electricity spread out with him as the center.

I put up my mana shield for safety, but still I was pushed back a little. A small grin formed on my mouth.

All players who were rushing were caught off guard by the use of the AoE skill by Flying Titan and were thrown like ragdolls.

I stabilized myself mid-flight and pushed forward with greater intensity, raining down bolts of electricity and weapons made from blood.

The Titan finally focused on due to a hail of attacks. It growled slightly and flapped its wings again, but instead of Storm, a barrage of hundreds of lightning bolts came at me.

I maneuvered through some bolts, and my mana shield tanked some of the bolts. Some shouts reached my ears, but I shut down any outside noise and focused on the boss and combining two orbs of lightning and blood.

The Titan flew towards me, but my Eclipsion wings gave me an edge and helped me escape his huge punches filled with lightning and storm clouds.

He shot a massive spiral lightning shot at me; it was very massive and difficult to dodge, so I put my small focus on the mana shield too.

I had Infinite Aegis, which can tank it easily, but I needed the fighting experience.

The bolt struck my shield, causing a loud thundering sound and bright light, which covered the area of our fight.

I took this moment to focus on the combination, and finally a deep red orb with red flickers over its surface, feeling almost alive. The hybrid element combined successfully.

A system panel flickered briefly.

[You have awakened VermillionVolt Affinity (Primordial)]

As the bright light subsided, I floated in front of the Titan, grinning. I declared, "Let's dance."
