Chapter 1 - prologue

This story is about Civilization II.

Theme: A Post-Earth Existence

The planet Earth met its end long ago. Now, the remnants of humanity—Civilization II—live scattered across vast space stations and starships.

The Nature of Civilization II

This universe is grounded in science, yet it holds a discovered magical system.

Wherever the people of Civilization II travel—to new planets—they initiate a merciless process: they drain the entirety of that planet's energy. Once completely consumed, the world is destroyed, collapsing into a neutron star or a black hole. This destruction takes approximately three months.

This current civilization is utterly ruthless. Their collective mindset is approximately 70% AI-driven. One hundred years ago, when they first became Civilization II, they destroyed their own planet, then their entire solar system, and finally their sun. Their next and final objective is to ascend to Civilization III.

Power System: Science and Fantasy

The story is a science fantasy, featuring a power system where abilities are derived through a blend of science and magic.

The people of this universe are divided into three distinct types, which dictate how they treat one another:

Superiors: These are half-human who live in space, and individuals possess a predominantly AI-like mind, suppressing most human emotions. Their respect, rank, and power are determined solely by their mental capabilities. They have three ranks:

Terras: 85% AI thinking. They make up only 1% of the population and possess the strongest powers, including specialized control over their battlesuits.

Gigas: 50%AI thinking. They form 39% of the population and have moderate control over their battlesuits.

Megas: 50% AI thinking. They are unable to participate in combat and constitute the middle class of the Superior population.

Humans: These individuals possess no inherent powers. They are akin to normal humans of 2025 AD. The Superiors treat them as slaves.

Stellars: These are humans who live on land; their Stellar powers only work on land and possess some of the Superiors' powers, along with some magical abilities. Crucially, they retain all human feelings and emotions, though they often do not yet know the full extent of their own power.

Civilization Scale Reference

Civilization I (Planetary): A civilization that can harness and control all the energy that falls on its home planet.

Civilization II (Stellar): A civilization that can harness the total energy output of its star.

Civilization III (Galactic): A civilization that can harness the total energy output of its entire galaxy.

Note: More details on the Stellars' powers will be revealed in upcoming chapters.

Character & Plot Development

The Protagonist: Zen Leo

Leo is the enigmatic leader of a group of Stellars. His power is legendary and mysterious, possessing an excessive number of abilities fueled by potent magical energy.

He is a deeply private person who never speaks about his past or himself, maintaining an air of profound secrecy. His fellow Stellars chose him as their leader purely because of his overwhelming strength; they respect his power too much to ever dare question him.

The Conflict

The Superiors are the dominant force, relentlessly draining the energy of entire worlds, converting planets into black holes or neutron stars.

This destructive campaign has placed the Superiors and the Stellars in a continuous state of war. Unfortunately, the Superiors almost always emerge victorious, operating by the chilling maxim: "No land, no enemies."

A New Dynamic

This bleak reality held until Leo was born.

Adding complexity to his life, Leo has managed to form friendships with individuals from both the Superior and Human civilizations.

Zen's personal conviction has always been to stop the war. However, his position as the powerful leader of the Stellars forces him to take up the fight, making his responsibility directly conflict with his deepest desire for peace.
