Hikaru Amateru
Hikaru held back a yawn as he tried to catch a few more seconds of shut eye before class started. He wasn't proud to admit it, but he had stayed up on his phone all night. It isn't my fault the rest of the class has horrible sleeping habits too.
Every time he attempted to close the app, a notification popped up at the top of his screen compelling him to open it again. Really, I'm completely blameless. Honestly, the rest of class 1A should adapt better sleeping habits.
To make matters worse, Hikaru had to wake up a good two hours earlier than usual to make it in time for classes. Consequences of living a whole train ride away from UA. I'm in the damn future and they're still using trains.
"Hey Hikaru~~" Hikaru felt a hand on his shoulder. "What's got you so down? Where's all that energy from last night?"
Hikaru lifted his head, scowling. "Buzz off Kaminari. I need my beauty sleep."
"HA! Like any sleep could fix that ugly mug of yours!" Bakugo cut in. He was among the group of classmates who had decided to turn in before midnight, and he was all too aware Hikaru hadn't done the same.
Hikaru groaned. "I don't have the energy for this right now."
"Dude that's not MANLY at all!" A loud redhead joined the conversation.
Ignoring Kirishima, Hikaru slammed his head head back onto the table. "Wake me up when-"
"HELLO STUDENTS!" A voice interrupted him. "I HOPE YOU'RE READY FOR SOME ENGLISH!"
The entire class winced. Present Mic had arrived, in all his spiky blonde glory.
Divine chalk stick have mercy upon my soul.
"Hey…" Kaminari whispered. "You don't think he'll speak at that volume the entire class, will he?"
Kirishima paled. "No way that's possible, right?"
Turns out, it was very much possible. Present Mic's method of teaching was such that you couldn't fall asleep even if you wanted to. Not because it was particularly interesting, but because of how loud he was.
He MUST be breaking some sort of law. No way teachers are allowed to teach at whatever volume they want.
The other classes were no better.
History taught by a perv and math taught by someone who could make clones of himself. Hikaru was beginning to wonder if UA used regular classes for training students for phycological warfare.
The only thing that kept Hikaru going was the Hero training class. And his new home. That's right, upon careful consideration his parents decided to let him rent out a place nearer to the school.
Hikaru liked to say it was his abilities of persuasion that made it happen, but it was more likely his habit of catching up on his sleep in the evening had annoyed his mother. "If the sun's up, you stay up with it" was an unofficial house rule.
Katsuki Bakugo
Katsuki couldn't focus today. It wasn't much of a loss honestly, he knew he could easily learn whatever they had been taught himself, just as he always did. Still, it pissed him off.
Deku. What the hell is going on with that brat?
Yesterday, he had overlooked it because of Hikaru trying to mess with him (Damn brat doesn't know when to shut up) but he could no longer continue to ignore it.
That bastard. HE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A PEBBLE ON THE ROAD. HE'S NOTHING. SO WHY? WHY IS HE IN THE SAME ROOM AS ME?
It took every ounce of composure he had not to rush towards him and beat the answers out of him.
Quirks don't manifest after a certain age. SO HOW THE HELL DOES HE HAVE ONE? DID HE TRICK ME? DID HE THINK IT WAS FUNNY? DOES HE THINK I'M A JOKE?
From the moment he had stepped foot in UA, nothing had gone according to plan. First, he lost to that short brown head in the entrance exam, then he saw Deku of all people in the same class as him, and worst of all, the runt had a damn quirk. He had attempted to confront the brat after class, but the conversation only served to confuse him further.
He said he earned it. What does that even mean? No matter. I'll fix everything soon enough. The moment I get the chance; I'm going to beat him to a bloody pulp.
Izuku Midoriya
Izuku sighed in relief.
Classes went surprisingly well today. Even Bakugo's quieter than usual. Does that mean he's finally given up on bullying me?
So far, UA had been living up to its reputation.
In the morning, we have normal classes. At lunch we eat absurdly high-quality food for dirt cheap. And now, finally, it's time for the afternoon class! BASIC HERO TRAINING!
Izuku couldn't stop himself from smiling goofily. After all, he was aware of who was teaching this class.
"I HAVE COME THROUGH THE DOOR, LIKE A NORMAL PERSON!"
OH MY GOD ITS ALL MIGHT.
Despite seeing him every single day, Izuku still hadn't gotten over his fanboy tendencies.
"It's All Might! He really is gonna teach us!"
"That's his silver age costume! So cool!"
"Check out those muscles!"
All Might, smiling at his students' whispers, stuck a pose.
"BASIC HERO TRAINING! THE CLASS THAT'LL MOLD YOU INTO REAL HEROES BEGINS NOW!"
"NO TIME TO DALLY. TODAY'S ACTIVITY IS… BATTLE TRAINING!"
Izuku felt a chill running down his spine.
Excitement and apprehension hung in the air.
"Hell yeah!" Izuku turned to see both Hikaru and Kacchan grinning like maniacs.
For the number of arguments they get into, they're way too similar.
Hikaru Amateru
"What's up good lookin?" Hikaru asked the mirror in front of him.
Yes, Hikaru had summoned a mirror to check himself out immediately after putting his hero costume on. No shame in it.
Hikaru had taken inspiration from the Greek toga, completed by golden bracers on his forearms and a gold laurel-style crown on his head. The beige and white of the tunic with the gold accessories made him look like nobility.
Hell yeah. If this won't get me fangirls, I don't know what will.
As much as Hikaru had wanted his accessories to be actual gold, he had instead settled for the toughest material the costume department had available. The tunic he was wearing was also made to be as tough as possible. Let it be known that Hikaru is a pragmatic man.
Still, this costume is surprisingly comfortable.
Before the first day, they had been asked to send in a design drawn on paper of what they wanted their costume to be. Hikaru, talented at many things, was sadly not talented at art.
Who needs to make art when you're a work of art yourself?
Regardless, he sent his sorry attempt of design to them, praying they understand what he wants.

Seriously, the dude who made this must have read my mind. Even I wouldn't be able to understand my design if it had been shown to be without context.
Leaving the changing room, Hikaru let out a chuckle. I guess I'm not the only one with good taste.
"Yo Kirishima! Where's your shirt bro?" Hikaru said, slinging his arm over him.
The boy grinned, flashing his strangely sharp teeth. "Can't hide all this manliness behind a shirt now, can I?"
"Forget that, Hikaru your costume is sick! You look like a noble!" Kaminari popped up behind the two. He was sporting a leather jacket with lightning markings on his shoulder, on top of a white T-shirt.
"Dude… your costume doesn't look much like a costume." Kirishima said, eyeing Kaminari's handiwork.
"What are you talking about, this is the very peak of fashion!"
"If we're talking about fashion… check out Bakugo's costume." Hikaru whispered, smirking. "It certainly matches with that spikey hair of his. He might be trying to go for a hedgehog vibe."
Kaminari snorted. "Honestly, the costume designers might be discretely sending a message."
Kirishima grinned. "Yeah. 'DO NOT TOUCH'"
"I HEARD THAT!" The boy in question shouted from the other side of the crowd.
Alright. From what I remember, this will be a 2 on 2. I hope I get to go against someone strong, it would be a shame if I won too easily.
Tuning out All Might's speech, Hikaru began warming up. This'll be my first proper fight. No telling if all my training actually paid off till the moment arrives. Whatever. If I'm losing, Imma go down having FUN.
After drawing lots, the teams were as such.
Team A: Izuku and Ochaco
Team B: Shoto and Mezo
Team C: Momo and Mashirao
Team D: Katsuki and Tenya
Team E: Mina and Yuga
Team F: Rikado and Koji
Team G: Kaminari and Kyoka
Team H: Tsuya and Fumikage
Team I: Hikaru and Toru
Team J: Kirishima and Hanta
"Huh? Who's Toru?" Hikaru muttered.
"That would be me!" An excited high-pitched voice answered.
"HOLY SHIT!" Hikaru exclaimed, jumping back. "WHERE DID YOU COME FROM?"
"I was here the whole time!" A flying pair of gloves answered. "Benefits of being invisible, eh?"
"That's sick!" Hikaru said, regaining composure. "Allow me a humble request, try not to shout when someone isn't aware you're nearby. Damn near gave me a heart attack."
One of the gloves grabbed onto what Hikaru assumed was Toru's face. "I'll consider it. Maybe."
"MOVING ON!" All Might quieted the students who had begun talking amongst themselves. "The first two teams going up will be THESE. The villain team D and the hero team A!"
Hikaru whistled. "Bakugo vs Deku? Shit's gonna go DOWN."
Hikaru could practically feel the energy pouring out of both boys in question. Boomboy was obviously giving the same energy a caged tiger would give, but Izuku was a mystery.
The poor dude's shaking. But those eyes… they don't look scared at all. Is he excited too? Hot damn he was the mc for a reason, huh?
Toru started humming. "That Bakugo, he has anger issues like you right?"
"Huh? The hell you mean like me?" Hikaru sputtered, insulted. "Him and I are NOTHING alike!"
"I'm honestly scared for what he'll do to Midoriya. I've heard the two have history." She said, ignoring Hikaru completely.
"I wouldn't count him out completely though." Hikaru said, deciding to let the insult to his character go unaddressed. "He gives a sort of underdog protagonist feel, doesn't he?"
Toru giggled. "You're right about that!"
"Well, the outcome of this match doesn't concern me at all. I just hope we go against someone strong too. Can't let those two hog all the spotlight."
He felt someone smack his back. "DON'T SAY STUFF LIKE THAT! YOU'LL JINX US!"
"Oh? Is the invisible girl scared of a challenge?"
"Scared? If we get paired up with someone like Bakugo, YOU'RE PAYING FOR MY MEDICAL BILL."
"But the school heals us for free-"
"THEN YOU'RE PAYING FOR MENTAL DAMAGES."
"I'm afraid that head of yours was broken way before you ever laid eyes on me." Hikaru grumbled.
Light punches began slamming onto his arm. "I'll show you broken!"
"Keep going, you might even do an HP worth of damage if you keep at it for a year or so."
The punches increased in frequency.
Well, she's fun to tease.
All conversations slowly came to a stop when both teams assumed their positions. Is this what they call "the calm before the storm"?
