Chapter 10 - Results

Hikaru twiddled his thumbs nervously beneath the table, staring at the envelope before him. There was nothing unique about the envelope, save for the logo embedded on it marking it a letter from UA.

"Well, my shining sun? After all that confidence you showed this last week, why are you so nervous now?" Hikaru heard his mother ask him. He sensed a hint of amusement in the tone. This woman! She's finding my nervousness funny! SHES ENJOYING IT.

Of course, Hikaru was still confident he had passed. In fact, save for few like Bakugo and Todoroki, he might be the most confident applicant there was. Yet the letter before him still made him nervous. It wasn't fearful nervousness; no this was anticipation with no outlet.

Twelve years of effort, twelve years of losing everything and rebuilding, twelve years of slowly becoming a new person all together. This letter represented that and more.

Hikaru sighed. Well, no purpose in delaying.

With almost casual indifference, he opened the letter and let the device within it fall out.

A strange button-like object fell onto the table, only to suddenly begin glowing.

Before the gawking mother and son, a projection of a unkempt man with a weary posture and even wearier eyes came into being.

"Hikaru Amateru, it is my pleasure to announce – as your future homeroom teacher – your acceptance into UA academy."

Hikaru grinned. Music to my ears.

"You scored an exemplary 65 villain points, along with 12 hero points from taking down the Zero pointer and saving participants as a side effect."

Hikaru frowned at that. "That feels like way too little."

His mother snorted at that.

"The maximum points you could have received for the act were 70, however upon reviewing the footage the examiners came to the conclusion that your motivations weren't the ones we had in mind."

Hikaru groaned. Seriously? How stingy.

"And thus with a total score of 77 you earned first place overall, tying with Katsuki Bakugo."

"What?" Hikaru yelled, sitting upright. "I TIED WITH THAT IDIOT?"

This is bullshit! Give me my hero points damn it! I did the same thing that broccoli did but without hurting myself! I REFUSE TO TIE WITH THAT BRAT.

Usually, Akari would have smacked him in the head for his outburst by now, but she decided to ignore it considering his current achievement. She smiled while looking at her son, who was preoccupied with cursing a "divine chalk stick". Whatever that meant.

Katsuki Bakugo

"…tying with Hikaru Amateru."

Katsuki glared at the projection before him. All Might maintained his cheery smile, irking him further.

He refused to accept the results he was seeing. For the first time in his life, he had TIED with someone for something he considered himself to be the best at.

Of course, this wasn't the only time he had felt himself being challenged.

Deku.

He clenched his fists at the thought of his name.

The brat had always managed to make him feel like HE was the weak one. That weak quirkless bastard had NO right to make him feel that way.

 And now there was another.

Hikaru Amateru.

I'll crush him too. Without a doubt, I will crush him and WIPE that COCKY SMIRK OFF OF HIS STUPID FACE.

His parents groaned as they heard miniature explosions coming from their son's room.
