"Your Majesty, this is a bit ambiguous!"
Adam turned around seriously, barely able to suppress the smile on his face.
"I'm not a casual person."
Lolopechka was helped up by the water spirit Undine. Her nose was bleeding, and Undine quickly took out a tissue to wipe it for her.
"Sorry, this is the person I'm looking for."
Lolopechka bowed slightly to Adam, then pointed to Xiaoshui standing beside him.
"In order to deal with the devil Megicula, I need this gentleman's help."
"Xiaoshui is a living being I created..."
The corners of Adam's mouth twitched slightly. He didn't expect this little guy to be more popular than him.
How abominable!
"Really."
Lolopechka looked at Adam carefully. Her mind, filled with the wisdom of all previous queens, could find no record of the creation of living beings in the vast knowledge of the Heart Kingdom.
Could something similar to the four great spirits truly be created artificially?
Even scarier than a devil's contractor.
"Ah!"
Lolopechka suddenly screamed, startling everyone.
"You are Lord Adam who defeated the devil!"
With a click, she tripped again and fell right into Adam's arms.
"I'm so sorry I didn't recognize you after your strange power wore off."
Is that the power she means?
Adam held Lolopechka in his arms. This cute little queen was quite the charmer—and honestly, he didn't feel like letting go.
"Let go!"
Noelle and Gadjah shouted in unison.
"Sorry!" Adam quickly handed the queen over to Undine and he was immediately dragged aside by Noelle.
"I think I should tell you everything."
Lolopechka was helped back to her throne by Undine, and she began explaining to Adam and the others about the curse placed on her by Megicula, as well as the invasion from the Spade Kingdom.
"I only have one year left to live," she confessed softly. "So I'd like to ask everyone to form an alliance between the Clover Kingdom and the Heart Kingdom to fight against the Spade Kingdom together."
Lolopechka stood up and bowed deeply to everyone.
"Please."
"Contact the captain. We can't make that decision ourselves."
Captain Yami, who was currently in the bathroom pushing himself to the limit, missed the conversation entirely.
Fortunately, Mimosa contacted William, who relayed the message to the Wizard King.
"That's it—we'll finalize the details later."
The final result was that the two kingdoms reached a temporary alliance. Specifics would be discussed later.
However, Lolopechka made a bold suggestion—to launch a counterattack against the Spade Kingdom six months later.
"Lord Adam, I'd like to speak with you alone," Lolopechka said telepathically.
Adam blinked and made an OK sign. He also had a few questions for the Queen of Hearts himself.
After lunch, Lolopechka asked Gadjah to take Asta and the others to tour the island while she waited in the palace for Adam's arrival.
"Queen, please tell me what you wanted to discuss."
Adam walked straight in, puzzled why the meeting had to be so secretive.
"That's good."
Undine waved her hand, using magic to wrap Adam and Lolopechka inside a barrier that isolated them from all outside interference.
Romantic luck incoming!
"Your Majesty, this is a bit inappropriate..." Adam began unbuttoning his shirt nervously.
"That way the devil won't sense us," Lolopechka said with relief—then eyed him suspiciously. "Master Adam, what exactly are you doing?"
"Nothing..." Adam coughed awkwardly. This was definitely not what he expected!
"I want you to leave Xiaoshui here," Lolopechka said firmly. "The devil Megicula is terrifying. Without Xiaoshui's help, I have no chance of winning."
Adam looked at her quietly. Though a bit flustered, the queen's eyes were full of unwavering resolve.
"I have a question," he said.
"Go ahead."
"You knew I defeated the devil, so why didn't you recognize me the first time?" Adam asked, genuinely confused.
As the Queen of the Heart Kingdom, she might be a bit clumsy, but she wasn't stupid.
"You possess a strange power that protects you," Lolopechka explained. "That power reached its peak on the day the Shadow Palace opened—but now, it's gone. I was confused by that energy, so I didn't recognize you immediately."
Huh?
Adam smiled in understanding. He looked at Lolopechka and nodded.
"Xiaoshui can stay—but we'll let him decide for himself."
"Really!?" Lolopechka exclaimed joyfully.
"My words are as strong as the Heaven!"
The magic barrier faded, and Xiaoshui—who had wandered off earlier—was now sitting on Undine's lap, expressing agreement with a bright smile.
Xiaoshui, aren't you supposed to be genderless?
Adam stared speechlessly. This little guy's tastes were suspiciously similar to his own—he liked the same kind of women!
But that's no reason to sit on Undine's lap!
Just then, Adam's grimoire emitted a dazzling light. Xiaoshui floated into the air, and a glowing blue gem separated from her body, slowly merging into the pages of the book.
The previously dim Rat Talisman power burst out with radiant golden light. A thin red line connected Xiaoshui to the rat emblem.
Adam's pupils shrank. The power of the Water Demon had returned—yet Xiaoshui hadn't disappeared.
What the hell was going on?
Xiaoshui's form suddenly began to change. His face, once similar to Adam's, shifted dramatically.
Dark blue hair. A tall figure. A face three times more handsome than Adam's—it was as if he had become human!
"This is the same kind of existence as Undine," Lolopechka explained softly.
Although Adam was still confused, the situation wasn't bad at all. Xiaoshui had become divine, and he'd regained the Water Demon's power. Plus, it looked like the Rat Talisman could be used again.
The best of all worlds!
"Is this the rise of the rat?" Adam murmured. "Looks like I can resurrect another general."
"What's going on?"
Adam looked at Xiaoshui curiously.
The somewhat shy "Son of the Sea" leaned close to Adam's ear and whispered his thoughts.
"You and Undine..."
Adam froze. He never expected that Xiaoshui had fallen in love with Undine at first sight! This intense emotion, combined with the unstable water element, had given him both gender and the appearance he desired.
"Then you stay here for now..." Before Adam could finish, Undine had already thrown her arms around Xiaoshui, the two of them immediately growing close.
"Sui-kun!"
"Nini~"
Disgusting!
Adam frowned as he watched Xiaoshui bury his face in Undine's chest. He had the sudden urge to punch someone.
Can you not enjoy it so much!?
Lolopechka's face flushed as she quickly turned away.
Forget it... like master, like servant. They both have similar tastes—and both love soft white buns.
You can't find that in Hage Village, only sweet potatoes…
