I woke up before my alarm and reached for my phone. It was my assistant calling me.
"Is the jet ready?" I asked the moment my assistant answered.
"Yes, sir," he said. "Fuelled, cleared, and waiting."
"Good," I replied and ended the call.
The International Empire Conglomerate conference was holding in South Ardoria this year. Three days of meetings, speeches, introductions, and deals. I was one of the heads representing Romano Group of Industries, and this conference would decide new partnerships and renew old ones.
Normally, I would have been looking forward to it.
This time, I was just grateful to leave.
Anything was better than staying in this house alone with my thoughts.
I showered, dressed, and left for the airport without eating. My driver greeted me and I greeted him back.
