By the time the car pulled into the mansion driveway, I was already too weak and exhausted, especially for someone who was just coming from the hospital.
The guards opened the gate and the driver got down and helped me out of the car.
The maids were already waiting when we stepped inside. My father spoke to them briefly, then turned to me.
"Go and freshen up," he said. "Dinner will be ready soon."
