Natsuki Subaru watched Emilia's fluid counter-attack, amazed.
He never expected Emilia to be this powerful.

Seeing their hesitation, Kazuma added, "If you help Lady Emilia defeat this enemy, maybe she'll be generous and forgive you for stealing her insignia!"

Before Emilia could finish, Kazuma shouted again, "Lady Emilia might even reward you handsomely for your great service! With countless gold and jewels! Right, Lady Emilia!?"
"You bastard! Rom-ji, let's take her!"
Felt roared, pulled out her dagger, and turned to face Elsa.
Old Man Rom also wrenched his spiked club from the wall, preparing to join the fight.

Rom shouted, tossing a couple of weapons from his stockpile to Subaru and Kazuma.
Subaru caught the weapon, hesitated for a moment, then grit his teeth. With a battle cry, he charged forward with Felt and Rom, surrounding Elsa.
Subaru was still terrified of Elsa after his last two deaths, but seeing her on the defensive and with everyone ganging up on her, his fear began to fade.
"Kazuma, why aren't you going? Are you scared!?"
Aqua turned and looked at Kazuma, who hadn't joined the fray.
"Scared? Yeah, a little. But the main problem is..."
At this moment, Kazuma's face was beet-red, his muscles strained.
He... couldn't lift the weapon Rom had tossed him.
Rom had tossed Subaru a normal curved blade, but he had given Kazuma a giant hammer—one of his own weapons.
Kazuma was a weak shut-in. Unlike Subaru, who apparently worked out, his stats were all below average, especially Strength.
Just to lift this weapon, Kazuma had to use every ounce of his power.
The hammer barely lifted a centimeter off the ground. Kazuma's arms and legs began to tremble as if he were being electrocuted.

Ice wrapped around Elsa's legs, rooting her to the spot.
"Oh my. Caught, am I? How cold... and wonderful."
Even in this situation, the flirtatious smile never left Elsa's face. She actually seemed to be enjoying it.
"It's over! Tell me who your employer is and everything you know!" Emilia demanded.
"I have my professional ethics, you know~ I can't just go leaking client information."
Elsa showed no sign of panic.
"Looks like she won't talk. Let's just finish her!" Felt scowled. For some reason, she had a bad feeling.
"Shouldn't we call the guards? That's probably the best idea," Subaru said, glancing at Elsa.
This time... we should be past the crisis, right?
His gaze shifted to Emilia, and he smiled.
"How nice~ But... do you really think it's over?"
In that instant, Elsa's teasing voice came from behind Subaru.
Before Subaru could even turn, he felt a cold sensation in his stomach.
