We should not have high expectations because Doctor Escobar chose to play it cool.
He might as well be acting to help you get better.' Kelly said. He was the only one with a different line of thought.
"I am a little perplexed already.
I can't even explain how I'm feeling right now," George confessed. It's very rare to see George admitting to his flaws.
. He lost some of his brain cells the instant he tried to comprehend Kelly's standpoint.
"How about your son, Conor?
We should give him a try," Kelly suggested.
George instantly scowled. "Conor? You were present at the altercation in my office. He was the reason I had a heart attack." It didn't take him long enough to kick against the idea.
He didn't think it should be considered as an option, let alone the perfect solution.
"What if the doctor kicks you out of the hospital? Have you considered that?" Kelly reminded his best friend.
He wasn't ready to follow George's rules. The rules are too rigid for him to adhere to.
He provided George with a thousand justifications for inviting Conor. Kelly was, regrettably, ignored by George.
It appeared as if Kelly did not exist at all because of the way George avoided him.
Kelly let out an exasperated sigh.
He was clearly disappointed that his friend had not trusted him.
"My father is correct, and I do not mean to be biased or meddle in your affairs." Katrina chimed in after the long silence.
She felt compelled to retreat, but her conscience followed her around like a machete, threatening to cut off her head if she did not speak up.
"It might seem hard to get him to come to this hospital. However, what options do we have?" She buttressed.
George grumbled before he finally agreed. He could have agreed to the challenge.
Kelly did not care about it.
And it is not relevant to him if George hits his head on the wall.
"How can we contact him?
You got a number, right?" Kelly asked as he swung into action immediately.
"I will send you a text with his number and my home address.' George clarified,
To reduce the tension, George also recommended that they ride in his car.
George watched them go, adding, "Do not forget to call me if you ever need any kind of help."
Katrina stopped Kelly just before he started the car and drove away. "I have a question."
Kelly growled, "A distraction is the last thing I want right now, and that is accurately what you are doing."
"Why are you doing this for George?
Why not others?" Katrina asked.
It's the thought-provoking question she had been harbouring for a while.
"I don't know what you are discussing. You are trying to play with my mind." Kelly looked confused.
He pretends not to understand. But deep down, he knew what Katrina was talking about.
"I don't trust your friendship with George. First, you want me to get married to his son. And now, this?" She questions him.
She sounded so curious to learn and so resentful.
She was somewhat relieved, as if a considerable coffin had rolled away from her heart.
Kelly did not yell at Katrina for speaking to him in that tone.
He was out of words to justify his actions. He never imagined that Katrina would think in that direction.
Guilt pressed his face to the floor.
Like a lost hen, he gazed at the ground for the past few minutes.
He struggled to recover after the question hit him hard.
Katrina looked frightened.
She was sorry that she had placed her father in such a difficult circumstance.
It all began when Kelly brought a substantial sum of money home.
When Katrina questioned him about it, Kelly said that he received it from George Maynard, his long-lost best friend.
Karina's mind had been restless ever since.
She took her time on multiple occasions to comprehend her father's relationship with George, but she never concluded.
"Did I say something wrong, Dad? Would you please pardon me if I did? It was not deliberate." She apologized.
She just couldn't hold on to her words for too long.
She had seen her father suffer, and that was the only time she felt comfortable enough to talk.
She tried to give her father an embrace, but for some reason, she kept pulling away.
Even though she had nothing in her hands, they were too heavy to be moved.
She never found out about her father's devotion to George. It hurts her more to see her father looking so helpless.
"I want to tell you the truth because you deserve to know it," Kelly confessed.
He was sick and tired of keeping that secret away from Katrina.
He knew a moment like this would surely come. However, he never knew it would be this quick.
Kelly was still unsure of how he had managed to lift his head so quickly.
How he had raised his head so rapidly was still a mystery to him.
"Have you been crying?" Seeing how red his eyes had turned, she asked Kelly. They were not only red, but swollen as if a bee had stung him.
"No, I'm fine," Kelly denied, wiping away the few tears that had been bottled up in his eyes.
"I would also explain why I want you to marry his son," Kelly said. His voice crackled.
"Do you really want to do this? As I previously stated, you do not need to injure yourself to convince me of something." Katrina made a U-turn. She thoroughly changed her mind about wanting to know.
She cautioned Kelly that some things are better left unsaid, and this is just one of them. She also gave him another chance to reconsider.
" I could end this suffering today, and everyone goes home happy," Kelly insisted. Nobody was able to stop changing his mind.
Katrina found it difficult to comprehend what he was talking about.
She was powerless.
She had no choice but to persevere to satiate her curiosity.
