Tonia's POV
We drove through the city streets in comfortable silence, and I found myself watching Kermit handle the steering wheel with surprising fascination. There was something mesmerizing about the confident way his hands moved, like I was discovering him all over again.
The buildings and pedestrians blurred past us as we made our way through Shadowpeak. When he pulled over at a secluded spot away from the main road, confusion washed over me. We were nowhere near the Park.
Before I could voice my question, he broke the silence.
"I've never actually had a real girlfriend."
My thoughts stumbled to a halt. The bustling world outside seemed to fade as I turned my full attention to him.
"Lorena and I were never truly together. We had an arrangement, nothing more. At first, my brother and I were just messing around with her. She didn't seem to mind and let us do whatever we wanted."
The implication behind his words made my stomach twist slightly.
