Tonia's POV
I reached the designated meeting point within the hour. The area stretched before me like an abandoned wasteland, devoid of any residential buildings or signs of life.
Not a single soul in sight.
My fingers were already reaching for my phone to contact Bradley when a dark van approached and came to a halt beside me. Two men emerged, scanning the surroundings before confiscating my purse without explanation.
"Are you working for Bradley?" I questioned them, but they remained silent.
After rifling through my belongings, they proceeded to wave some kind of scanning device over my entire body. Were they checking for tracking devices or surveillance equipment?
"Get in," one of them commanded with a nod toward the vehicle.
I climbed into the van and we departed.
The journey felt endless and exhausting. The windowless interior prevented me from determining our destination or tracking our route.
