Tonia's POV
Kermit gunned the engine and we shot onto the main road like a bullet.
At first I thought my luck was finally turning around. But as the speedometer climbed higher and higher, a terrifying realization hit me. Maybe Kermit was actually trying to get us both killed after what had just happened back there. Because there was no other explanation for driving this insanely fast.
The world outside became nothing but streaks of color and motion. Buildings, people, street signs all blurred together as we tore through the city at breakneck speed.
I expected to see rage or frustration on his face when I glanced over. Instead, those metallic eyes of his were practically glowing with excitement. The bastard was having the time of his life. This wasn't some angry reaction or punishment. He was genuinely enjoying putting our lives at risk.
Despite my terror, I found myself laughing at the pure absurdity of it all. The adrenaline was intoxicating in the most dangerous way possible.
