Chapter 9: Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon
Gloria, who had destroyed Yūga Hōzumi's monster by battle, entered Main Phase 2. "Next, Continuous Spell, 'Slow Life,' Activate!"
"As long as this card remains on the Field, during either player's turn, if a Normal Summon is conducted, a Special Summon cannot be performed that turn. Conversely, if a Special Summon is conducted that turn, a Normal Summon cannot be performed (Anime Card)."
"I Set two cards, End Turn."
"A Continuous Spell that blocks plays?" It was Kaito's Turn. Kaito muttered, looking at the Continuous Spell on the opponent's Field. "But something like this won't stop me. My Turn! Draw!"
"If a monster Special Summoned from the Extra Deck exists on the opponent's Field, and you control no monsters, this card can be Special Summoned from your Hand." Kaito revealed a card from his Hand.

"At this moment, Continuous Trap, 'Amazoness Moment of Revelation,' Activate!"
"When an opponent's monster is Special Summoned, your LP recover by the total ATK of those monsters."

"What?!" Yūga Hōzumi and Kaito's expressions didn't change in the slightest, but the faces of the increasingly numerous Spade Academy Warriors gathering around turned grim.
"A strategy that forces the opponent to choose between Normal Summon and Special Summon? And if they choose to Special Summon, we recover LP?" A Spade Academy Warrior frowned. "But it's impossible for the two Chiefs' Decks to not Special Summon."
"If it's just about recovering LP, I'll just shave off all the LP you recover!" Kaito said, and with a wave of his hand, activated 'Cipher Twin Raptor''s Effect.
"'Cipher Twin Raptor''s Effect Activates!"
"Discard one card from your Hand, then Special Summon one 'Cipher' monster from your Hand or Deck!"
"From the Deck, I Special Summon 'Cipher Wing'!"

As the new monster appeared, the Continuous Trap on the opponent's Field lit up once more.
"Continuous Trap, 'Amazoness Moment of Revelation,' Activate! I recover LP equal to the ATK of the monster you Special Summoned!"

"In the Graveyard, the Effect of 'Cipher Etranger,' discarded by 'Cipher Twin Raptor''s Effect, Activates!" Ignoring the opponent's LP increasing again, Kaito revealed the card just sent to the Graveyard.
"When this card is sent to the Graveyard, Add 1 'Cipher' Spell/Trap Card from your Deck to your Hand."
"I will Add Continuous Spell, 'Cipher Interfere,' to my Hand!"
"'Cipher Wing''s Effect Activates! Once per turn, you can Target two 'Cipher' monsters on your Field; their Levels become 8 until the end of this turn."
"I change the Levels of 'Cipher Twin Raptor' and 'Cipher Wing' on my Field to 8! Next, I Overlay the two Level 8 monsters!"
As Kaito's voice fell, the two monsters on the Field transformed into two golden orbs, and flew one after another into the dazzling galaxy above their heads.
"Oh, galaxy that shines in the darkness, ghost god of vengeance, descend and become my servant! Xyz Summon! Descend! Rank 8! 'Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon'!"
Within the galaxy, a Giant Dragon with a glass-like body spread its iridescent crystalline wings. The Giant Dragon, with the galaxy swirling in its profound gaze, roared, as if unleashing its master's rage.

"The gap in LP is widening..." a Spade Academy Warrior said with a bitter expression.
"A monster with 3000 ATK? What a troublesome Effect. But recovering 3000 LP in one go feels really good, right, Sister?" Grace said with a light chuckle.
"Be serious, Grace. The opponent is not someone to be taken lightly." Gloria glanced at her sister and said coldly.
"'Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon''s Effect Activates!"
"Once per turn, you can Detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, and Target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls on the Field. Take Control of that monster until the end of this turn. Its effects are Negated, its ATK becomes 3000, and its card name becomes 'Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon'. After this Effect's activation, your other monsters cannot perform direct attacks until the end of this turn."
"Cipher Projection!"
As Kaito's shout rang out, one of the orbs encircling the Giant Dragon in front of him transformed into a wisp of flowing light and surged into its wings behind it. Its wings immediately burst forth with five-colored light. Under this light, the figure of 'Amazoness Empress' on the opponent's Field slowly melted away. Beside the Giant Dragon, a new, illusory 'Cipher Dragon' slowly formed.

Compared to the 'Galaxy-Eyes' that would take Brother Complex Kite from another world on a trip to a Different Dimension during duels, this Kite's 'Galaxy-Eyes'' Effect is even simpler and more brutal—"Not only will I take your monsters, I'll also transform them into my own shape."
Kaito glanced at the two Giant Dragons on the Field, one illusory and one real, and slapped a card onto his Duel Disk.

"When this card is on the Field and a 'Cipher' monster with the same name battles, you can Double that monster's ATK until the end of the Battle Phase!"
"Great! This way, Kaito Chief will be able to deal 6000 Damage to the opponent this turn! All the LP the opponent recovered earlier will be returned!" A Spade Academy Warrior watching exclaimed joyfully.
"Battle! 'Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon,' direct attack! Annihilation Cipher Flow!"
'Galaxy-Eyes' raised its slender neck high. After charging, it unleashed a colorful dragon breath towards the opponent.
"At this moment, Continuous Trap Card, 'Amazoness Willpower,' Activate!"
"Target 1 'Amazoness' monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon it in Attack Position. Monsters Special Summoned by this Effect cannot Change Battle Position, and must attack if able. If this card leaves the Field, Destroy that monster. If that monster is Destroyed, Destroy this card."
"From the Graveyard, Revive! 'Amazoness Swords Woman'!"
The wild female swordswoman, clad in beast hide and wielding a long blade, blocked in front of the two sisters. Looking at the Giant Dragon several times larger than herself, she greedily licked her lips.

"Kaito Chief, be careful! If you attack this monster, any Battle Damage caused will be taken by you!" A Spade Academy Warrior, who had suffered losses from this monster before, loudly warned.
"So it has this troublesome Effect?" Kaito said after frowning.
"It's just a damage reflection tactic, that's all. Go ahead and attack without worry!" At this moment, Yūga Hōzumi smiled and revealed a Set card. "Trap Card, 'Breakthrough Skill,' Activate!"
