# Chapter 11: This Damn Tsundere is a Real Pain
"With that, the preparations are complete," Yūga Hōzumi said. "This turn, I'll finish you off!"
"I activate the effect of Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon! Once per turn, I can detach one Xyz Material from this card to target one face-up monster my opponent controls; I take control of it until the End Phase. That monster's effects are negated, its ATK becomes 3000, and its name becomes 'Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon'. After this effect resolves, other monsters I control cannot attack directly for the rest of this turn."
From behind Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon, its twin wings projected a brilliant, five-colored light that shone upon Amazoness Pet Liger. The jungle beast struggled desperately but could not escape the fate of being stolen away. After its form dissolved, an ethereal replica of Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon slowly materialized beside the original.
"Battle! Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon attacks Amazoness Empress!"
Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon unleashed a five-colored dragon breath toward the lone monster on the opponent's field.
"It's useless. Even if Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon's ATK doubles because of your Continuous Spell, it will only inflict 3800 battle damage, and it will be immediately destroyed by the effect of Amazoness Heirloom," Gloria sneered.
"Is that really true?" Yūga Hōzumi chuckled. "At this moment, I activate Number 39: Utopia's effect! When any player's monster declares an attack, I can detach one Xyz Material from this card to negate the attack! Moon Barrier!"
"Negating your own attack?" Gloria scoffed. "Did you realize you couldn't defeat my monster, so you decided to retreat?"
"Don't be so hasty. I said I'd defeat you this turn, so I won't wait for the next. At this moment, I activate my face-down card, the Quick-Play Spell, Double or Nothing!"
"When a monster's attack is negated, I can target that monster; during this Battle Phase, it can attack one more time. When that monster attacks again by this effect, its ATK is doubled during the Damage Step."
"What?!" The two sisters' expressions changed drastically.
Utopia channeled the negated attack's energy, its twin wings turning iridescent. An even more immense power surged into Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon's body. As the energy flowed in, lightning began to crackle around its form!
"Let's do this together, Kaito!" Yūga Hōzumi roared.
"You really got me fired up," Kaito said with a slight smile. His expression then turned serious as he looked at his opponents. "Are you ready to repent?"
"Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon, attack! Annihilation Photon Stream!" Yūga Hōzumi and Kaito shouted in unison.
A vast galaxy shimmered in Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon's eyes. After raising its head to gather power, it unleashed the immense energy from within its body.
"Because of the effect of Double or Nothing!, Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon's ATK doubles!" Yūga Hōzumi roared.
Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon ATK: 3300 → 6600
"At this moment, the Continuous Spell, Cipher Interfere, activates! When my 'Cipher' monster battles while a monster with the same name is on the field, during damage calculation, that battling monster's ATK is doubled until the end of the Battle Phase!"
Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon ATK: 6600 → 13200
"An ATK of 13,200?!" The twin sisters' eyes widened, but they and their monster were soon engulfed by the torrent of energy.

Just then, a series of system notifications sounded in Yūga Hōzumi's mind.

After the energy torrent ceased, Yūga Hōzumi didn't have time to check the quest rewards. The smoke cleared to reveal the unconscious sisters, who had been blasted by the attack.
"Thank you for your support, both Chiefs. Now that these two are dealt with, our troops have fully assembled. We request that you break through with us now," said Miura Makoto, the temporary leader of Spade Academy, as he approached Yūga Hōzumi and Kaito.
Yūga Hōzumi took out a prepared signal flare and fired it, alerting Shinjō Katsu outside to get ready to provide backup.
"So you're the current leader of Spade Academy? After we break through, you should join us. After all, we won't always be able to make it in time. Besides, if our remaining Academy soldiers join forces, we can establish a better defensive line and hold back the invaders from the Fusion Dimension," Yūga Hōzumi said, casually turning the unconscious sisters into cards before speaking to Miura Makoto.
Miura Makoto nodded. "I understand. After Yuto and Shun went to find Ruri, those dogs from the Fusion Dimension set their sights on us. If we weren't afraid of causing you trouble, we would have sought refuge with you much earlier."
Hearing Miura Makoto's reply, Yūga Hōzumi nodded and looked at Kaito. "What about you? Will you bring the Clover Faction members to meet up with us?"
"Not interested," Kaito refused succinctly.
"Don't be like that. Didn't we work well together just now?" Yūga Hōzumi said with a shrug.
"I already told you," Kaito said coldly, "I'm only here to repay my debt to Yuto."
"Don't you owe *me* anything?" Yūga Hōzumi said, frantically searching the original owner's memories for a reason to make Kaito stay.
"I remember now, I even treated you to a meal!" Yūga Hōzumi exclaimed, slapping his forehead. But seeing Kaito already turning to leave, Yūga Hōzumi quickly called out, "Hey, don't go!"
"I'll have Allen bring the Clover Faction members to you. Take good care of them." Kaito didn't look back. He simply left those words behind, then disappeared from Yūga Hōzumi's sight with a series of leaps through the ruins.
"This damn tsundere is a real pain," Yūga Hōzumi pouted, looking in the direction Kaito had left and muttering helplessly.
Afterward, Yūga Hōzumi looked at Miura Makoto beside him. "Let's go. Time to break through."
The breakout operation went smoothly. With their commander defeated, the Obelisk Dog-Walking Squad's morale was extremely low. Furthermore, Yūga Hōzumi had summoned Utopia to provide cover. The entire Black Spades Battalion, over 5,000 strong, successfully rendezvoused with the external support team. The only cost was a few minor injuries.
After leading the large force to a suitable location to set up camp, Yūga Hōzumi opened the system panel.
First, he dealt with today's spoils of war—the cards that the twin sisters and the Obelisk Dog-Walking Squad members he had dealt with on the way out had turned into. He casually tossed them into the shop, exchanging them for over ten thousand gold coins. The two sisters alone accounted for half of that amount.
Then, Yūga Hōzumi opened his system inventory to open the card packs from the quest reward.
First, he'd open the three Random XYZ Monster packs. The cards he got last time were quite useful, so he hoped for the same this time, Yūga Hōzumi thought to himself.
