Vivian's POV
"Damn it," Wade muttered under his breath. "I probably shouldn't have mentioned that. Liam's going to have my head..."
His words barely registered as my mind reeled from what he'd just revealed.
Abby was free.
Liam had released her from that place, which explained the security detail watching the house. He expected me to bolt the moment I discovered the truth.
The irony wasn't lost on me. I had no intention of seeking her out, but my sister would undoubtedly come looking for me. Yet she hadn't made contact. Questions flooded my thoughts. Why keep this from me? After his cold treatment the other night, I'd assumed Abby would remain locked away indefinitely.
"You still with me?" Wade's voice cut through my racing thoughts.
I stared out the passenger window. "Yeah, I'm here."
"Doesn't look like it," he said quietly.
I shot him a sideways glance. "My mental state isn't your concern, Wade. We both know you can't stand me."
