"I'm really looking forward to the ninja life." Obito got up early, finished washing up, and headed to the meeting place he and Mokgetsu agreed on.
"Who will the other teammate be? Could it be Rin? Is Teacher Mokgetsu trying to surprise us?" Obito couldn't help but daydream.
"Hey, Pancake Uncle, get me a pancake." Obito quickly ran to the pancake shop to grab breakfast.
After buying it, Obito walked briskly, eating as he headed to the training ground.
Having studied at the Ninja Academy for so many years, Obito was excited to finally experience the life of a ninja.
"Granny, do you need help?" Obito suddenly noticed an elderly person who needed assistance.
Obito quickly finished his pancake and threw the trash into a bin before stepping forward to help.
"Today is another meaningful day." After helping the second elderly person, Obito smiled and said.
"Wait, I still have to meet up!" Obito suddenly remembered that today was the day to gather for the internship, so he dashed toward the training ground.
He was grateful he got up early today; even if he took some time on the way, he shouldn't be too late.
Once he entered the training ground, Obito heard two familiar voices and saw two familiar figures.
"As expected of my dear friend and rival, running into each other at such a big training ground by coincidence."
"No, I'm not here to train; I'm here to find my team."
"Wanna have a hot-blooded youth contest, then? Let's see who's faster."
"Not interested, got things to do today."
"Hey, Kakashi, what are you doing here?" Obito couldn't resist running up to Kakashi and asking.
He had a very bad feeling in his heart; could it be Kakashi is the other teammate?
"No way, it can't be. Kakashi graduated years ago and is already a Chunin. Why would he intern with us? He must be here for training and just bumped into us," Obito reassured himself.
Hearing Obito's voice, Kakashi turned and looked at him, a bit puzzled. Bumping into Might Guy was one thing, but why was Obito here too?
"Shouldn't I be asking you that? Shouldn't you be at school?" Kakashi said calmly.
"What an idiot, the Ninja School has been on break since last week." Obito seized the opportunity to mock him.
"Sorry, but I've been out of school for so long; my sense of time isn't as good as yours. Come to think of it, it's been years. You've been in the Ninja Academy all this time," Kakashi retorted.
"You..." Obito was speechless. Whenever it came to this, he always fell to a disadvantage, unable to counter, because it was the truth.
"I don't have time to waste with you today," Kakashi said, ready to leave and look elsewhere, as he didn't have a habit of being late like Obito.
"You must be Hatake Kakashi," Mokgetsu appeared next to Kakashi and asked.
"So fast!" Kakashi's pupils shrank, and he instinctively took two steps back; he hadn't noticed when Mokgetsu appeared, not even a hint.
Regaining his composure, Kakashi nodded and said, "Yes, are you Captain Habu?"
Sarutobi Hiruzen had told Kakashi that the name of the team guide he was heading to was Habu Mokgetsu.
Seeing Mokgetsu's face, Kakashi remembered some memories, recalling seeing Mokgetsu once, probably during the Junior Ninjutsu Competition.
"Yes, that's me," Mokgetsu nodded with a smile.
"Captain?" Obito's sense of foreboding reached its peak.
"That's right, Kakashi is your next teammate," Mokgetsu announced directly.
"No way, this can't be right." Obito was about to lose it.
He never imagined the person Mokgetsu knew would turn out to be Kakashi. Sure, he knew him, but Kakashi shouldn't be here.
"Obito, do you have a problem?" Mokgetsu asked.
"Kakashi has graduated a long time ago and is already a Chunin. Why is he joining our intern team?" Obito scratched his head and asked.
He was thinking it could be anyone but Kakashi, yet it turned out it was Kakashi.
"Intern?" Kakashi also looked puzzled. Initially, he thought encountering Obito and Might Guy was a coincidence, but it seemed they were his next teammates.
"There's something special about the reason. However, in the coming months, Kakashi will definitely be your teammate," Mokgetsu replied.
"Obito and Guy haven't graduated yet. It's an internship activity by the Ninja Academy to help outstanding students quickly get into ninja work later on."
Mokgetsu continued to answer Kakashi's question and explained the intern ninja situation to him.
In a moment, Kakashi felt like Sarutobi Hiruzen had set him up, throwing him in with Ninja School students, what the heck?
"Was I careless after a break? I didn't even notice a Ninja Academy teacher closing in," Kakashi reflected to himself.
"Let's all introduce ourselves. Although you're intern ninjas, you're still ninjas. It's different from before."
"I'll start. My name is Habu Mokgetsu. I like teaching and watching students grow stronger. My hobbies are calligraphy, and I enjoy dishes involving eggs," Mokgetsu said with a warm smile.
"As expected of Teacher Mokgetsu!" Might Guy gave Mokgetsu a thumbs up.
"I am Might Guy. I like training. My dream is to become the world's strongest Taijutsu Ninja. I want everyone to know that even without Ninjutsu or Genjutsu, one can still become powerful!" Might Guy shouted passionately.
"That does sound like something he'd say," Kakashi mentally commented. Only Might Guy could claim to become a strong ninja without relying on Ninjutsu or Genjutsu.
"I'm Uchiha Obito. I like helping people in need. What I hate is doing exercises. My dream is to become a Hokage who surpasses all previous Hokage!" Obito quickly said.
Seeing the others finished their introductions, Kakashi knew he had to say something, thought for a moment, and said:
"I'm Hatake Kakashi. I don't want to talk about what I like or dislike; I have no particular interests or dreams."
"That doesn't say anything except your name!" Obito couldn't help but comment.
Kakashi directly ignored Obito's words, looking calmly at Mokgetsu.
"You can't force personal things, so let's start our first training." Mokgetsu took out three small bells and said.
"In the upcoming day, as long as you can grab my bells, it's a success."
"Those who fail will have to sort out their own dinner and miss out on my special recipe."
"Boring." Kakashi thought dismissively, considering it a trivial punishment.
