Chapter 174 - Chapter 76: Their Respective Strategies (3k)

"Alright, next you can use any method to snatch the bell from me before the sun sets."

After saying this, Mokgetsu directly hung the bell on his waist and leaned against a tree, looking as if he was resting.

Although Mokgetsu was full of openings at the moment, none of the three made a move immediately.

Obito and Might Guy, having been long taught by Mokgetsu, knew how terrifying Mokgetsu's strength was, especially Might Guy, who had seen the battle between Mokgetsu and Six Gates Might Duy. The speed and power were beyond the realm he could touch now.

Kakashi was already an experienced ninja, so he didn't plan to probe Mokgetsu's truth directly himself. He wanted to wait for Obito and Might Guy to make a move before taking the opportunity to snatch the bell.

"What should we do? Snatching something from Teacher Mokgetsu is so hard." Obito scratched his head, not knowing how to snatch the bell from Mokgetsu for the time being.

Even the straightforward Might Guy couldn't help but nod and say, "It feels like charging directly won't work at all."

With Mokgetsu's speed, charging directly would be suicide.

"Do you know Captain Habu's intel?" Kakashi thought for a moment and asked.

If they could know Mokgetsu's information, it would be very helpful for the battle.

"Of course we do, because Teacher Mokgetsu is..." Obito suddenly remembered something and paused.

"Is what?" Kakashi asked since Obito stopped halfway through.

"Is our summer special training instructor." Obito quickly spun his mind to cover up.

"Teacher Mokgetsu has very high chakra control, walking on water and climbing trees are very swift, and his Instant Body Jutsu is also very fast."

Kakashi was speechless, as there was only one useful piece of information: that the Instant Body Jutsu was fast.

"It seems like just now wasn't careless at all." Kakashi thought to himself, suspecting that Mokgetsu might be a speed-type ninja.

After thinking for a while, Kakashi already had a strategy for snatching the bell. Speed-type ninjas have low error tolerance, and since Mokgetsu is a teacher at the Ninja Academy and hasn't engaged in real battle for a long time, he had a significant advantage in this aspect, having just gone through a brutal battle.

After thinking it through, Kakashi felt he had a significant advantage.

"Confronting head-on definitely won't work, but we just need to snatch the bell, so we can choose to use traps to distract Teacher Mokgetsu," Obito thought for a moment and said.

When he learned Soru, he experienced the function of traps; letting down his guard meant either being hung on a tree, punched away, or falling into a pit.

Might Guy nodded, not necessarily because Obito's method was good, but because he couldn't think of any ideas.

"Hey, Kakashi, why don't you come help set up traps?" Obito said, a bit annoyed at Kakashi's indifferent attitude.

"Later, don't sneak off alone to buy food and cry in secret."

"Your imagination is quite vivid, but I don't trust your trap-making skills. I can finish the bell-snatching myself," Kakashi said calmly.

For a ninja, creating traps is basic. If you can confirm the battlefield in advance, setting traps is a must. Kakashi also prepared to set some traps, but he didn't plan to do it with Obito and them.

After seeing the traps that Obito and the others set, Kakashi could only conclude that Ninja School students were just at this level in trap-making; they were threats hard to avoid.

Kakashi thought that, given Obito's trap-making skills, it wasn't much different from going directly since in bell-snatching training, the teacher usually goes easy, and with some luck, Obito might snatch it.

"Kakashi, even if you beg, I won't share food with you." Obito said, wiping the sweat off his forehead after setting up the traps.

"There's a place called a shop on Konoha Street where you can buy food," Kakashi explained as if he were educating someone who didn't know this.

"Also, I won't lose." Before Obito could get more agitated, Kakashi disappeared from his sight in a flash.

Kakashi didn't know whether Mokgetsu's special cuisine was good or not, for him, snatching the bell was simply a task set by Mokgetsu, and he was just trying to complete it.

"Guy, we'll do this: you're a little faster, lure Teacher Mokgetsu to the trap area. With my Fire Release and the traps distracting him, he won't be able to pay too much attention to you. Then you seize the opportunity to grab the bell," Obito said excitedly.

Having trained with Mokgetsu for so long and fought Shisui and Might Guy quite a few times, this was the first time facing Mokgetsu directly.

Obito wanted to earn Mokgetsu's recognition; before, he was always a student, but this time was different, as he was a ninja now, even if just an intern ninja.

"Leave it to me! My youth is already burning!" Might Guy flashed his big white teeth and grinned, feeling the blood rushing hotly through his body.

Worried that being too close would result in instant defeat by Mokgetsu, Might Guy stood twenty meters away and threw several shurikens at Mokgetsu.

Mokgetsu, who looked like he was resting with his eyes closed, instantly opened his eyes and dodged the incoming shurikens.

"Finally ready, huh." Mokgetsu said, stretching a bit, then charged toward Might Guy.

As soon as Might Guy finished throwing the shurikens, he immediately turned and ran toward the trap area, glancing back to see Mokgetsu catching up, and he began using the Breath of Rock to boost his running speed.

Since the goal was to train the students, Mokgetsu didn't use his full power to catch Might Guy but controlled his speed to trail behind him.

Always ready to act, Obito saw the two coming and directly pulled out a kunai to cut the rope binding the big log. A massive log shot toward Mokgetsu, and Might Guy, who was prepared, swiftly dodged aside.

Whoosh!

Just as the log was about to hit, Mokgetsu flickered aside onto a nearby tree, avoiding the trap's attack.

"Fire Release: Great Fireball Jutsu!" Obito quickly formed seals and used ninjutsu against Mokgetsu.

A massive fireball, four meters high, shot toward Mokgetsu.

"Success!" Obito couldn't help but punch the air in celebration.

He wasn't far from Mokgetsu. At this distance, Mokgetsu didn't have much time to dodge or counter the Great Fireball with ninjutsu, especially with Might Guy lurking nearby.

"Water Release: Water Array Wall!" Mokgetsu quickly gathered chakra and formed seals, raising a water wall swiftly.

"Breath of Rock, Full Concentration Breathing!" Taking advantage of the opportunity, Might Guy directly used the breathing technique to charge forward.

Just as Might Guy was about to grab the bell, he found his hand couldn't move. He looked up to see his hand had been caught by Mokgetsu.

"Such fast reaction speed!" Might Guy was incredibly surprised inside, as both the trap and his surprise attack happened in an instant, yet Mokgetsu managed to handle everything smoothly.

Bam!

Might Guy was thrown against a tree by Mokgetsu.

"Fire Release: Impatiens Claw Red!" To prevent further attacks on Might Guy, Obito once again used Fire Release Ninjutsu.

Obito, wanting to ensure power, used the standard version of Impatiens Claw Red instead of the one-handed seal version. Numerous shuriken, resembling small fireballs, rained down on Mokgetsu.

Mokgetsu silently switched his breathing technique from Breath of Rock to Breath of Thunder, disappearing instantly from Obito's sight.

"So fast, where did he go?" Obito glanced around, trying to find any trace of Mokgetsu, but was unable to locate him at all.

"Damn, it would be great to have the Sharingan." Obito felt a bit envious of Shisui, who awakened his Sharingan at six.

The next moment, Obito felt a gust from behind, but just as he sensed it, he was sent flying, crashing into a tree beside Might Guy.

Might Guy quickly got up and once again concentrated his breathing, charging towards Mokgetsu.

But against Mokgetsu in Breath of Thunder mode, Might Guy was destined not to even touch the hem of his clothes.

Bam!

The next instant, Might Guy was sent flying back faster than he charged, hitting a tree with such force that it shook violently.

Seeing Might Guy's plight, Obito, who was trying to endure the pain and get up, sat back down. Capturing the bell alone was unrealistic; he decided to recover his chakra first.

After temporarily dealing with Might Guy and Obito, Mokgetsu began searching for Kakashi.

"The speed is indeed fast, but from this position, there's a chance!" Kakashi, who had been observing from the shadows, decided to act when he saw Mokgetsu near his trap.

Whizz! Whizz! Whizz!

A barrage of shuriken shot at Mokgetsu, forcing him to retreat backward.

Then Kakashi suddenly burst forth, drawing the short blade from his back in mid-air, slashing towards Mokgetsu.

Mokgetsu reacted quickly, drawing a kunai to block the oncoming blade.

Kakashi's sword was swift, each strike aimed at Mokgetsu's vital points, forcing him to retreat slightly once more.

"Got you!" Kakashi triggered the explosive tags he had prepared in advance.

Detecting something amiss, Mokgetsu quickly retreated to the side.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Fiery light erupted violently, followed by a massive explosion, creating a more than five-meter-wide area of scorched earth.

Seizing the opportunity, Kakashi reached for the bell at Mokgetsu's waist.

"Not a bad trap, but one person's strength isn't enough." Mokgetsu said, grabbing Kakashi's hand.

"Such speed and reaction!" Kakashi was shocked. Watching Might Guy and Obito get beaten hadn't left a big impact on him, but facing Mokgetsu himself, he realized how extraordinarily fast Mokgetsu was.

"Why didn't you attack together when Obito and the others did? The three of you together would have a better chance."

"Because I thought one person was enough." Kakashi replied.

"Is that so? It seems your thinking was wrong." Mokgetsu smiled slightly before sending Kakashi crashing into a nearby tree.

Pop!

Kakashi, who had hit the tree, vanished in a puff of smoke.

Meanwhile, the real Kakashi, who had been hiding in the shadows ready to strike, seized the gap in Mokgetsu's defense, swiftly drawing the White Fang Short Blade to strike at the bell on Mokgetsu's waist.

"Indeed, one person is enough," Kakashi thought to himself.
