Chapter 165 - Chapter 69: Preparations Before the Big Explosion

"Guy, is your family available today? I want to visit your home," Mokgetsu said to Might Guy after training.

"Ah, what kind of visit?" Might Guy scratched his head, a little confused.

The Ninja Academy isn't accustomed to holding parent-teacher meetings, nor does it conduct home visits, so Might Guy wasn't quite sure what Mokgetsu meant.

"You can think of it as me coming over as a guest, after all, it's the first time I've known of another Eight Gates cultivator besides myself," Mokgetsu said with a smile.

"No problem, it's very convenient," Might Guy answered with a joyful nod.

Of course, Might Guy was very welcoming to Mokgetsu wanting to visit his home. After all, Mokgetsu had helped him so much, Might Guy truly felt grateful to Mokgetsu.

Whether it was being the top of his class in Ninja School or defeating the ninja who spoke ill of his father, the strength he possessed was inseparable from Mokgetsu's careful guidance. It could be said that without Mokgetsu, he wouldn't have his current achievements.

"Well then, Teacher, I'll run back and tell my father so he can prepare more food," Might Guy thought for a moment and said.

Might Duy's cooking schedule was unpredictable; sometimes when Might Guy came home, the food was already prepared, while other times it hadn't even begun.

"No worries, we'll go back together. I can buy some groceries on the way," Mokgetsu said warmly.

Though Mokgetsu originally hadn't planned on eating, since Might Guy brought it up, Mokgetsu didn't intend to refuse his goodwill. Eating together would make his future plans more convenient.

"Teacher Mokgetsu, since you're coming as a guest, you shouldn't have to buy groceries," Might Guy shook his head, feeling that it wasn't right.

"Just treat it as your teacher being picky about food," Mokgetsu said, ruffling Might Guy's hair with a laugh.

Might Guy still felt it wasn't right, but he couldn't argue with Mokgetsu and was eventually persuaded.

Finally, led by Might Guy, Mokgetsu was brought to his home, stopping by a nearby market on the way to buy some groceries.

"I'm back," Might Guy said, pushing open the door.

"Guy, welcome home. Was your youth burning with exercise today?" Might Duy responded enthusiastically while washing vegetables.

"Of course, today was another day of youthful fervor," Might Guy replied instinctively.

Realizing that Mokgetsu was also there, Might Guy quickly added:

"Dad, don't busy yourself just yet; we have a guest."

"Oh, there's a guest," Might Duy stopped what he was doing and walked toward the doorway.

"Dad, this is Teacher Mokgetsu. He's a teacher at the Ninja Academy; he's very skilled. His outstanding teaching abilities have earned him a promotion to Special Jonin," Might Guy introduced Mokgetsu.

Due to Mokgetsu's previous request, Might Guy hadn't revealed too much information, only sharing what was publicly known.

"A Special Jonin, must be an extremely excellent ninja," Might Duy said, flashing a big smile and giving a thumbs-up.

"Senior Dai, hello," Mokgetsu said with a smile, having been briefly introduced to Might Duy by Might Guy on the way.

Might Duy immediately took a liking to Mokgetsu. Although he was much older than Mokgetsu, as a Special Jonin, Mokgetsu didn't need to address someone of his rank as 'Senior.'

"Dad, these are the groceries Teacher Mokgetsu bought while coming here," Might Guy handed the groceries to Might Duy.

"How could the guest need to buy groceries," Might Duy felt it inappropriate.

"Haha, I couldn't resist when I saw a discount in the market. I hope it doesn't cause you any trouble," Mokgetsu said apologetically.

"If there's a discount, it's understandable; anyone would be tempted when seeing discounted goods," Might Duy said, stroking his chin with an understanding look.

Might Guy scratched his head. Mokgetsu and he hadn't been together when buying the groceries, so he didn't know if it was truly a discount or if Mokgetsu said it just to put Might Duy at ease.

Afterward, Mokgetsu didn't insist on helping with cooking or washing vegetables; being too enthusiastic as a guest could be inappropriate, it should be moderate.

During dinner, Mokgetsu proactively initiated conversation, smiling and saying:

"Guy works very hard at school. Though his foundation wasn't good at first, he started gaining momentum since the first semester of fourth grade. Now in fourth grade, he basically has only one rival."

"That's youth!" Might Duy exclaimed, embracing Might Guy with tears, feeling proud of him.

Even though his grades weren't good initially, Might Guy never gave up working hard. Watching his son grow from last place to the top was truly moving for Might Duy.

"Dad, we're still eating," Might Guy reminded.

"Eat more; burning youth also needs energy to sustain it," Might Duy encouraged, letting go.

"Senior Dai, may I witness your Eight Gates? I've also trained in this Kinjutsu," Mokgetsu asked after dinner.

"Teacher Mokgetsu, how do you know, and how could you have trained in this Kinjutsu too?" Might Duy said, somewhat surprised.

"Dad, I told Teacher Mokgetsu," Might Guy said.

"Besides taking my class at the Ninja School, Guy is actually my disciple, and he once spoke to me about studying the Eight Gates," Mokgetsu explained simply.

Revealing the mentor-disciple relationship with Might Guy to Might Duy was the result of Mokgetsu's careful consideration.

Primarily, Might Duy is a reliable, low-key person. Although he possessed knowledge of the extremely dangerous Kinjutsu, Eight Gates, he honestly remained a perpetual Genin. Revealing this relationship to him wasn't a concern about it being leaked.

Additionally, revealing this relationship could enhance Might Duy's favor, facilitating the continued increase in Might Guy's trust level.

"Teacher Mokgetsu, I didn't…" Might Guy was somewhat surprised; he had only intended to help Mokgetsu explain, not expecting Mokgetsu to reveal his own forbidden matters.

Mokgetsu strictly prohibited his disciples from discussing their relationship.

"It's alright, after all, it's your father, Guy," Mokgetsu explained gently.

Might Guy felt Mokgetsu's trust, thinking that he definitely needed to remind his father not to divulge this matter later.

"Guy's teacher, I see," Might Duy realized some things he couldn't comprehend before.

Might Duy was very familiar with his son's strength. Just during the first semester of fourth grade, Might Guy's strength improved dramatically.

Since Might Guy hadn't told him, Might Duy had thought it was a case of Might Guy making sudden progress. But having a teacher would make much more sense.

"Thank you so much, I must apologize for causing you trouble, Teacher Mokgetsu!" Might Duy solemnly bowed to Mokgetsu.

He felt somewhat guilty regarding Might Guy. As a father, the only thing he could teach Might Guy was the extremely dangerous Kinjutsu Eight Gates; he couldn't teach him anything about Ninjutsu or Taijutsu since he didn't know them himself.
