Grass. Trees. Leaves. Forest.
That was my entire world when I opened my eyes. Not the familiar ceiling of my apartment, but a dizzying canvas of green and blue. The air was so fresh it felt medicinal. Water glittered nearby, and in the distance, mountains rose, sharp and majestic, like a setting from a fantasy epic.
The last thing I remembered was collapsing into bed, exhausted from a double shift. Now, here I was, still in my worn T-shirt and shorts, standing in an impossible landscape.
A new world? A new life?
It wasn't a bad trade. I immediately decided: I'd make sure this life was a happy one.
My first order of business: explore.
I started walking, drawn by the sound of running water. The river I found was startlingly beautiful, the water so clear it looked like liquid crystal. I quenched my thirst, letting the clean, cool water wash away the last traces of the old world.
For what felt like an hour, I saw nothing but plants, trees, and untouched wilderness. I craved a sign of civilization—a town, a road, any indication that human life existed here. The silence was becoming heavy.
Then, something small darted through the tall grass near the riverbank. I approached cautiously, hoping to find a person, or at least something intelligent.
"Hey!" I called out.
It bolted. Whatever it was, it wasn't keen on a conversation. It moved with unnatural speed, definitely not human. As I got closer, I saw it was a small, furry creature, similar to a rabbit, but with disproportionately large hind legs. I sighed, disappointed, and continued my search for people
