Chapter 19 Port Conflict
These past few days, Matthias had been busy coordinating business with Anton, and they finally finished it tonight.
Anton, that guy, was practically on fire.
He didn't know that Blue Whale's true identity was Matthias Engel.
He kept calling him Blue Whale, almost like calling him 'dad,' and his words revealed his admiration for him.
As for Carl Schmidt, he was already swamped with work.
Ever since Unreal Entertainment Company released the new Pirates of the Caribbean promotional video, his phone hadn't stopped ringing.
A large number of reporters came to the company for interviews, and Carl had lost more than ten pounds.
"Mr. Schmidt, was Pirates of the Caribbean produced by your company?"
"Our company did not produce Pirates of the Caribbean; we are the distributor and event operator for Pirates of the Caribbean."
"Then who is the actual production company?"
"Sorry, we have signed a non-disclosure agreement regarding that."
"Do you know Blue Whale?"
"I'm sorry, no comment."
"Can you tell us about the future development vision for Pirates of the Caribbean?"
"We will dedicate ourselves to various Pirates of the Caribbean activities, including future competitions, operations, merchandise, and player feedback. We will also launch a Deluxe Edition and a Collector's Edition, which will include our meticulously designed pirate models and souvenirs."
"Wait, you just said there would be future competitions. Is that true?"
"It's true, but a detailed explanation will be provided after the next version update."
"Can you discuss the content of the next version update?"
"Sorry, that cannot be revealed yet, but I am certain this will be a major update, and many contents will be implemented. Please look forward to it."
Reporters came in an endless stream, and Carl couldn't even eat.
Not only reporters, but investors and sponsors also came knocking.
When he returned home in the early hours of the morning, Carl collapsed onto his bed and immediately fell into a deep sleep.
Matthias could foresee this situation; the old Matthias Engel had experienced the same after the release of mini arena. Unfortunately, there were no new works afterward, coupled with poor management, which led to his expulsion from the company.
Currently, GG Games Company is barely operating by relying on mini arena.
Matthias heard they are already working on their next game; whether the company can rise again might depend on this one effort.
In any case, having left GG Games Company, Matthias no longer wanted to pay attention to that company's affairs.
Opening the video website, Lena Morgen's live stream was quite lively today.
Lena had already reached level 30 and was doing her second class advancement quest.
"What class should I advance to?"
The three advanced classes for pirates: Duelist, Musketeer, and Marauder.
Duelist: Proficient in dueling techniques, every move is designed to take an enemy's life.
Musketeer: Excellent long-range attacks, superb marksmanship; no one wants to be an enemy of a Musketeer.
Marauder: Powerful mobility, numerous plunder bonuses; if you don't want to trade, then be a Marauder.
After some thought, Lena decided to advance to Duelist.
Ever since her duel with Warren last time, she couldn't forget the feeling of adrenaline rushing through her.
Licking blood from the blade, that's what a pirate is.
A flash of light, and Leni successfully advanced to Duelist.
Her entire character model grew a few inches, representing the character's growth.
Her appearance and attire also changed; her eyes became sharper, holding a gun in her right hand and a knife in her left, standing sideways.
Congratulations on advancing to Duelist. Duelists are very good at one-on-one combat, excelling in both melee and ranged combat, with the sole purpose of winning.
She looked at the Duelist's skills.
Sand Toss: Throws sand, causing enemies to fall into a brief blind state.
Double Stab: Two-segment displacement stab, making it difficult for opponents to escape.
Slide Shot: Attacks enemies while sliding or dodging attacks, requiring good operational reaction.
Blade and Shadow: Unleashes a super strong continuous melee weapon attack, dealing massive damage to enemies.
Passive: Dodge, Block, Melee Weapon Mastery, Flintlock Mastery, Light Armor Mastery.
She used the skills, and each one felt very natural.
"Leni Sis, it's not good! Our alliance members have been attacked!" At this moment, an alliance member ran over and said.
"Who dares to touch our people in Royal Port?"
"It's the KT Team's people."
"Let's go, take me to see."
Soon, Lena arrived at the scene.
The location was near the port, where several KT Alliance ships had blocked an MG Alliance player's ship, preventing it from entering the port.
Lena frowned, leaped up, and jumped onto the MG Alliance player's ship.
"Leni Sis!" The male player exclaimed.
"It's me. What happened? How did the MG Alliance people block you here?"
"Sigh, when I was entering the port just now, I accidentally bumped into their ship. So they demanded I compensate them and apologize. I paid and apologized, but they insisted I make a kneeling emote before they would let me into the port."
Lena heard this and looked at the two pirate ships: "You guys are really going too far!"
"Oh, isn't this Lena Morgen?"
A red-haired pirate with long bangs stood at the bow of the ship, his ID was KT Bad Guy.
With a punk hairstyle and a punk name, it was clear this was Xaver Lehmann from the KT Team.
"He has already apologized to you and paid compensation. Isn't it a bit inappropriate to make him do a kneeling emote?"
"I think it's quite appropriate." Xaver stood there and sent a wicked smile emote.
"So, you're deliberately looking for trouble?"
"Not really. It's just a game; as long as you have fun. It's just a kneeling action; what's the harm in doing it?"
Lena snorted: "Then you do a kneeling action for me, and I'll see if you're willing to do it."
It sounded simple, and although it was a game, there were so many viewers in the live stream.
If Xaver dared to kneel, the team would terminate his contract the next day. This wasn't just about one person's reputation.
Xaver stood there, hesitating to act: "Forget it, this matter is over. Don't let it happen again. Be careful when sailing in the future, rookies!"
"Coward," Lena said faintly.
"Lena Morgen, I challenge you to a duel!" Xaver turned and exclaimed.
"Accepted!"
You have entered Duel Mode with KT Bad Guy. During this time, others cannot interfere.
The loser of the duel will lose all equipped items and have their level reduced by one. Please prepare for the duel.
Duel countdown ten seconds...
Xaver stood there stunned. He hadn't expected Lena to accept so readily, and Duel Mode had just started so abruptly.
That was just a fit of pique. It was too late to regret it now.
Xaver raised his flintlock: "To be honest, I'm already level 29. If you surrender voluntarily, you can still keep your equipment."
"Unfortunately, I'm already level 30, and I just finished my class advancement quest, so..."
The duel officially begins.
As soon as the duel began, Xaver fired first.
Lena used Slide Shot to dodge the bullet, then hit Xaver's body with a shot.
Immediately following with a Double Stab, she arrived in front of the Bad Guy, kicked away his flintlock pistol, and placed her knife at his throat.
"So, what will you choose? Kneel and surrender, or be killed by me?"
"I surrender!"
To save his equipment, Xaver made a kneeling surrender emote.
Duel over. Leni wins. Since KT Bad Guy surrendered, only a level reduction penalty is applied.
A green light flashed, and Xaver's level dropped to 28.
