Chapter 18 - Chapter 18 Company Opening

Chapter 18 Company Opening

After closing the live stream, Matthias Engel continued to work on the game's update content.

Unbeknownst to him, a month quietly passed.

He had a fulfilling month; it turned out that a person's happiness could be so simple.

Eating well, sleeping soundly, and doing what he loved was enough.

It was already November, and the weather was gradually turning colder, so Matthias put on a jacket.

Today, Unreal Entertainment Company officially opened for business.

Carl Schmidt had been busy for a month, selecting the office floor in the building, completing the renovations, and now just waiting for Matthias to arrive.

Soon, Matthias arrived downstairs at the company, and Herr Schmidt came out to greet him.

"Director you're here," Herr Schmidt said, dressed in a suit and tie, with a smile on his face.

"Just call me Matthias. Also, there's no need to specifically introduce me to others. You'll be managing this company."

"I understand."

The two then went up to the seventh floor of the building.

The company's decor was simple, grand, and bright, with about a dozen people sitting at their desks in the office.

"Currently, all personnel for planning, operations, data analysis, testing, network debugging, and so on are in place. Next up is connecting with game businesses. Anton Müller, come here for a moment."

A young man walked over: "What is it, Herr Schmidt?" [herr is a german world which mean mister ]

Herr Schmidt said, "Anton, this person next to me is my friend."

Herr Schmidt glanced at Matthias, who nodded: "My name is Matthias, and I'm a salesperson for the company, specifically responsible for bringing in business."

"Hello, Matthias!" Anton extended his hand to shake Matthias's.

"Anton, I heard you're in charge of connecting with game businesses for the company. I recently landed a big deal, so you'll need to pay close attention."

"This deal is very important, and I don't want to put too much pressure on you, but just be diligent in everything," Matthias said.

Anton scratched his head: "Our company just started, and we've already gotten a deal so quickly? Don't worry, I can handle any game connection; I have extensive experience in this area."

Anton said, "Brother Matthias, what game is it? I'm quite curious."

Herr Schmidt patted Anton: "Don't call him 'brother' so casually; call him 'Herr Engel'!"

Matthias waved his hand: "The address doesn't matter. I've just finished discussing with the producer, and he has agreed to fully entrust us with the event operations for Pirates of the Caribbean."

Anton smiled: "Haha, really? Pirates of the Caribbean."

"Wait!?"

Anton's eyes suddenly widened, his face full of disbelief.

"Which Pirates of the Caribbean?"

Herr Schmidt was speechless: "You kid, which Pirates of the Caribbean could it be? It's the very popular Pirates of the Caribbean!"

Anton covered his head: "You're not kidding, are you?"

"Who's kidding you?" Matthias sighed.

After getting a confirmed answer, Anton excitedly shouted: "Our company got the operations for Pirates of the Caribbean!"

At that shout, everyone in the office looked over.

They were all as surprised as Anton.

Anton said, "I'm also playing that very popular Pirates of the Caribbean; I'm a loyal fan of this game! Brother Matthias, do you know the game's creator? If you see him, please tell him I really love that game!"

"Alright, alright, he's my buddy. Next time I have a beer with him, I'll mention it."

"This is great, I'm going to be the operator for Pirates of the Caribbean!" Anton's excitement was beyond words.

"I'll give you his contact information. You can connect with him later, and ask if there's anything you're unfamiliar with."

"Understood, Brother Matthias!"

Just like that, Matthias finished explaining everything and took another tour of the company.

"Herr Schmidt, the decor is still missing something. Next, let's create some Pirates of the Caribbean-related posters to put up in the company."

"Understood, Direc... Herr Engel."

Herr Schmidt was about to say Director but stopped himself. Matthias didn't want others to know his identity, so he wouldn't speak carelessly.

Matthias smiled slightly: "That's pretty much it. You'll be busy from now on."

Herr Schmidt patted his chest: "Don't worry."

Then Matthias pulled out a USB drive: "Almost forgot, this contains a new Pirates of the Caribbean game promotional video. Please release it under the company's name first."

Herr Schmidt excitedly took the USB drive: "I feel like my phone is going to explode with calls."

"Thank you for your hard work."

After doing all this, Matthias drove back to his German apartment.

Why establish a company? Because he wanted to hold competitions later, and the specific time would be decided after the NGA Annual Game Awards concluded.

There was still a month until the game awards, so everything needed to be thoroughly prepared.

Opening the NGA Annual Game Awards voting website, Matthias frowned; the first place was actually kingdom adventure.

This shouldn't be the case. What went wrong after a few days offline?

He remembered that Pirates of the Caribbean had already reached first place a few days ago, so how could it fall back to second?

He browsed some online videos and comments and found that many people were talking about this issue.

"Inside job!"

"Demon Star Company paid them off."

"Haha, the funniest joke of the year: Pirates of the Caribbean behind kingdom adventure."

"It was first a few days ago, but I tried it these past few days, and the voting had issues; I could only vote for kingdom adventure."

"Unbelievable!"

Matthias was dumbfounded to see this scene; this NGA was a bit unreliable.

Matthias also tried to vote on the website, and sure enough, he couldn't click it; he could only vote for other games.

Every click said 'network fluctuation, please try again later.'

Who could he complain to about this? Let it be whatever it wants to be; Matthias suddenly lost interest in this award.

An unfair award, whoever wants it can have it.

He opened his Steam Platform page.

Just now, Pirates of the Caribbean's global sales surpassed ten million copies, crushing kingdom adventure's three million copies.

It entered the top ten of the Steam Platform's historical sales rankings.

Sales revenue was 2.98 billion.

The Steam Platform took 10%, leaving Matthias with 2.682 billion. [ i know steam take 30 percent but i will keep it ten percent]

Looking at his bank card balance, he felt for the first time that money was just a string of numbers at this moment.

These 2.6 billion all belonged to him personally and didn't need to be shared with anyone else; it was simply delightful.

As for the ten million he owed, it was no longer an issue; a single transfer cleared the debt.

Then, on the Game Producer System page, game points had also soared to over thirty million. Sales, player count, and emotions all contributed to the increase in points.

With so many points, he could now make whatever games he wanted, no longer needing to be hesitant.

Following the current trend, sales would continue to rise in the coming months, and it felt like breaking twenty million wouldn't be difficult.

Therefore, for the sake of the players who bought his game, he must do a good job with the upcoming game update content.
