Konoha Root Base.
After Itsuki defeated several of Danzo's guards, he finally stood face to face with the leader of Root himself.
"Senju Itsuki, you are indeed impressive. But I won't let you continue doing as you please. Not while I possess the Sharingan!"
Danzo had discarded his disguise—no longer leaning on a cane, no longer feigning weakness.
His right eye, implanted with the power of Kotoamatsukami, was exposed.
On his pale right arm, the seals binding ten Sharingan had been released.
Itsuki glanced at him and instantly understood. No wonder Danzo had been stalling earlier.
He wasn't the type to endure humiliation quietly—he had been waiting to unseal that grotesque arm, letting his guards buy time.
And now, even Kotoamatsukami had been revealed. Was he really planning to risk using it against Itsuki?
Itsuki snorted inwardly. If I didn't already know the plot, maybe I would have fallen for this.
"I warned Hiruzen long ago," Danzo declared, his right arm held out like a shield.
His expression was stern, righteous. "Individuals like you, who possess abnormal abilities, must be kept under strict surveillance. Today proves me right—you've lost control, revealing your ambitions at last."
"But don't think power allows you to transcend the rules. You're digging your own grave. Even if it costs me my life, I will never let you destroy Konoha's stability!"
Itsuki stared at him, speechless for a beat, before mocking openly.
"If there was a shameless ranking in the ninja world, you old dog would be number one. Do you even listen to yourself? This is the first time I've seen someone lie to themselves so thoroughly."
He shook his head. "Forget it. I didn't come here to argue with you. But let me make one thing clear—once you're dead, Konoha will be more stable than it's ever been."
To be fair, Danzo had contributed to Konoha in his own way. Root eliminated countless spies. He'd secretly sent infiltrators to other villages, playing a key role during wartime.
Even the massacre of the Uchiha clan, while cruel, eliminated a potential coup and bought stability for those in power.
If he had done all of this without selfish motives, he might have been seen as a bitter but necessary guardian of the village.
The problem was Danzo's constant use of the phrase "Everything for Konoha" as a mask—when in truth, his actions often only benefited himself and destabilized the village.
The Uchiha massacre wasn't about stability. He coveted their Sharingan.
He provoked conflict between the Uchiha and the village until slaughter became inevitable.
During the war, he deliberately stirred conflict between Akatsuki, Iwagakure, and Hanzo, worsening losses for Konoha just to pressure Hiruzen into stepping down.
He'd even tried to frame the Third Hokage and sent Kakashi to assassinate him.
Is this really someone who wants what's best for the village?
In Danzo's twisted worldview, only if he became Hokage could Konoha prosper, only if he became the Allied Shinobi Forces' commander could the ninja world know peace.
And the worst part—he had no self-awareness. He truly believed that anyone who opposed him was a traitor, an obstacle to progress.
That was the essence of ordinary, mediocre men in the ninja world.
Danzo opened his mouth to argue further, but Itsuki had no patience. He controlled his wooden construct to swing a massive punch.
Boom!!
Danzo didn't dodge. He stood his ground, formed hand seals—and was smashed into pulp by the wooden man's fist.
Anyone else would have been stunned.
Danzo leapt from the shadows, hands flashing through seals. He spat forward:
"Wind Style: Vacuum Wave!"
Several slicing blades of wind shot through the air, reminiscent of Temari's Kamaitachi.
But Itsuki wasn't fooled. The fact that Danzo let himself get hit so easily already gave away his reliance on Izanagi.
The wooden man raised one chakra-hardened arm, blocking the attack. The wind blades left only shallow marks.
The other arm swung down again, crushing Danzo's second body.
Another Danzo respawned, only to be punched again the instant he appeared.
This time, he didn't take the blow. He jumped back, retreating quickly, eyes narrowing.
"How could you predict this? You aren't surprised at all?"
Itsuki smirked. "Who knows? Maybe I'm actually shocked to death inside—I just don't show it on my face."
He sent the wooden man charging again.
Danzo's face turned pitch-black. His greatest weapon, Izanagi, was no longer a trump card—it was completely exposed.
That left him with only one real chance: the Kotoamatsukami in his right eye.
But there was no opening.
And as he hesitated, Itsuki's wooden man smashed him again.
"How boring," Itsuki yawned, curling his lip. "A man relying only on Izanagi has no fighting spirit. You're not even using half your strength. I don't even need to take you seriously to stomp you flat."
Even if Danzo got another chance, it would be useless.
"Super Beast Imitating Drawing!"
A figure swooped down from above, riding an ink bird. An ink-drawn unicorn charged toward Itsuki.
"What's this—?"
Itsuki lost his balance as he dodged the unicorn. He fell from the wooden man's head.
A perfect opening.
Danzo's eyes lit up. He boosted his speed with wind chakra, gliding through the air. His kunai gleamed with condensed wind chakra.
"Wind Style: Vacuum Blade!"
He slashed downward, aiming straight for Itsuki's skull.
At the same time, his right eye widened—waiting for Itsuki's gaze to meet his, so he could unleash Kotoamatsukami.
On the other side, Sai urged his ink bird downward, attacking Itsuki from a second angle.
Both believed the battle was already decided.
But then, several golden chakra chains burst from Itsuki's body.
One skewered Sai's ink bird, forcing him to leap away from high altitude.
Another deflected Danzo's Vacuum Blade.
A third chain coiled tightly around Danzo's body, instantly suppressing his chakra.
A fourth wrapped around his grotesque right arm and ripped it free.
The last chain pierced his right eye, ripping the Mangekyo Sharingan straight from the socket.
It all happened in a single instant. Itsuki, focused and calm, executed it flawlessly.
"Ahhhh!!" Danzo screamed in agony.
He clutched at the bloody hole where his arm had been, then his eye, blood streaming down his face.
"Izanagi… you released it early," Itsuki sneered. "You thought you'd already won, so you deactivated it. Which means you can't reset that arm or that eye."
He created a wooden cup and placed the stolen Kotoamatsukami inside, safely contained by the Vajra Barrier.
"You… you actually know about Izanagi!" Danzo gasped, trembling.
Overcome by rage and pain, he spat blood. His breath grew weak, his strength draining away.
