The Parasyte Unveiled
As Hideo Shimada's head slowly splits open, four strong tentacles emerge, resembling a blooming chrysanthemum. Four smaller tentacles hold his grotesque, ugly eyes, constantly twitching. At the "heart" of the flower is a mouth with razor-sharp teeth.
The students are paralyzed with terror. One girl screams and tries to flee towards the door. A tentacle, swift as a snake, snaps out, its tip instantly forming a sharp blade that severs the girl's lower leg. She collapses with a shriek.
The transformed Shimada murmurs, "This isn't good! You'd all better stay here and let me kill you quietly. Otherwise, I'll be very annoyed!"
Zhao Xuan, hidden just outside the door crack with Yūko, is splattered with the girl's blood. Seeing the gruesome attack up close is a thousand times more horrifying than watching a movie. His face is pale, his eyes wide, and his teeth chatter as his legs freeze in place. Yūko is also trembling violently, tears streaming down her face, muffling a scream.
Run! Run! Zhao Xuan screams internally, but his body refuses to move.
The Attack and the Acid
Inside the room, Shimada is counting his prey: "One, two, three... a total of eight people!" Then he adds, "Oh, and the two who just left... all of you must die!"
As Shimada is counting, Satomi Murano seizes the opportunity. She grabs a bottle of corrosive stripping agent (oxalic acid solution) from a nearby shelf. As soon as Shimada finishes speaking, Murano throws the bottle with all her strength.
Shimada casually deflects the weak attack, shattering the bottle with a tentacle. However, the acidic solution sprays over his terrifying head like rain.
A pungent smell fills the air, accompanied by an ear-splitting "zzzzz" sound of corrosion.
"Aahhh—!"
Shimada lets out a horrifying, inhuman shriek. His tentacles writhe and spasm wildly, white smoke rising from the corroded flesh at the base of his tentacles.
"Die... all of you die...!"
With two of his tentacles retracted to cover the damaged, sightless eye sockets, the now partially blind Shimada bellows and swings his remaining two tentacles randomly and frantically, slicing through easels, statues, and cabinets.
Chaos and Escape
"Run!" Murano shouts, helping a nearby classmate to her feet.
The other girls wake from their shock and scream, desperately fleeing towards the back door of the art room. However, their screams guide the enraged Shimada. Two tentacles flash out, instantly cutting down two more girls, scattering blood everywhere.
Yūko finally reacts at the doorway, shouting, "Zhao Xuan, run!"
Zhao Xuan finally snaps out of his paralysis and flees with Yūko toward the stairwell.
A powerful force smashes the art room's sliding door open. Two thick tentacles fly out, felling another fleeing girl. Shimada stumbles out of the room, muttering, "All... must... die..."
The screams and loud noises from the third floor (where the art room is located) draw many students out of the surrounding club rooms. When they see the horrific monster, they too panic and flee downstairs, screaming.
The partially sighted Shimada follows the sound of the screams, wildly swinging his tentacles. Blood splatters, and severed limbs fall to the floor.
Shinichi Izumi's Decision
On the first floor, Shinichi Izumi instantly knows what is happening because Migi (Little Right) senses Shimada's murderous intent. Migi warns Izumi to immediately leave the building.
However, Izumi deduces that the disturbance is coming from the Art Club on the third floor, where his childhood friend Satomi Murano is. Believing Murano to be in danger, Izumi ignores Migi's earnest advice and sprints towards the third floor.
Upstairs, chaos reigns. The main stairwell is jammed with students falling and clustering together in their desperate rush to escape. Zhao Xuan and Yūko, having been knocked down several times, realize escaping down this staircase is impossible as Shimada stumbles closer from behind.
Zhao Xuan grabs Yūko's hand and shouts, "Run for a different staircase!"
The teaching building is U-shaped, with the Art Club in the northeast corner ("U" right corner). There are three staircases: one on the left, one on the right, and one in the middle.
Zhao Xuan pulls Yūko toward the middle staircase. Several other students follow their lead.
Shimada, whose vision seems to be slightly recovering, is now stumbling directly after Zhao Xuan and his group!
