Dahlia's POV
The instant Cobb stepped into view, I let a subtle smile cross my lips.
"Cobb, what a pleasant surprise to see you here."
His eyes narrowed dangerously, and the color drained from his face in an instant.
Even Flora, positioned at his side, went wide-eyed with shock before shooting me a look filled with pure venom.
"Dahlia, have you completely lost it? Do you have any idea where you are right now?" Ivana suddenly approached me with quick strides, her voice dropping to an urgent whisper as she fixed me with an intense stare.
She continued, "This is the Zaid estate, Dahlia. You have no business being here. You need to go."
I observed Ivana's conflicted expression as she gazed at me, putting on this act of caring about my wellbeing. The irony made me want to laugh.
She had always harbored nothing but contempt for me. Her dislike was barely concealed most days.
Yet here she was, suddenly looking at me with what appeared to be genuine concern.
