Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: The Gacha Gods Deliver

"Whoa, my cheat system's here!"

Su Chen's eyes lit up with excitement as he dove into his mind's interface.

Overall Assessment: A sub-healthy rational individual from a magicless world, sharing one trait with the current faction: dirt poor.

Ignoring the system's brutally accurate—and mildly insulting—evaluation, Su Chen focused on the details.

"It's literally just like that gacha game!" he exclaimed, his mouth twitching.

FGO was no casual draw-and-win game. When it came to bad luck, it could outdo even Mihoyo's pools in sheer absurdity. And this system? It was on another level, with a card pool spanning all items and characters across countless worlds.

In other words, it could screw him over even harder.

His only solace was the guaranteed pulls: a gold card on the first draw, a purple card within ten, a gold within thirty, and a self-selected gold at a hundred. That was at least in line with Mihoyo's pity system.

Why was he so relieved about guarantees? Because Su Chen was the ultimate non-lucky chieftain. His draws always relied on pity pulls. Getting a five-star? Probably a dupe Qiqi instead of Nahida. Weapon banners? Say hello to Skyward junk.

He'd heard tales of "Eurobugs"—those mythical players pulling Shark Girl in thirty draws or scoring triple gold in eighty. Tch, paid actors, obviously! Su Chen didn't buy it. Nobody's luck was that good.

With guarantees in place, even a luckless chieftain like him could rest easy.

Draw opportunities came from two sources: a daily free pull from the system or spending ten million Dennies per draw. Ten million Dennies wasn't that steep—roughly the cost of 0.1 square meters of housing in New Eridu.

Of course, for a black-ID nobody like him, even that was a pipe dream. For now, he'd rely on the daily free pull.

"It's already eleven o'clock. Gotta get today's draw in!"

Su Chen glanced at the TV: 11:02 PM. Daily draws reset at midnight and didn't stack. Skip today, and he'd miss out. Plus, this was his first draw, guaranteed to be gold—his ticket to surviving New Eridu.

He switched to the draw interface, greeted by a dazzling array of cards twinkling like a starry galaxy. There were character cards like [Morax], [Miles Yang], and [Saber], alongside item and ability cards like [Herrscher of Reason Core] and [Vision]. The pool was vast, all-encompassing.

"First draw, guaranteed gold. Will it be a feast or famine? It's all up to you!"

Su Chen jabbed the draw button, praying fervently.

A flash of blue-white lightning erupted, so bright it nearly blinded him. A gold-bordered card slowly flipped over, revealing a cool-as-ice man in a leather coat and sunglasses.

"Huh?!"

Su Chen rubbed his eyes, unable to believe it.

The man in the leather coat was none other than Captain Huaxia, Yan Shuangying!

For a moment, Su Chen was speechless, a thousand quips stuck in his throat.

His non-lucky self had managed to whiff a guaranteed gold draw?! This guy made it into the pool? As a gold legend?!

His gacha system's scope was absurdly broad. Gritting his teeth, he checked the draw log: [Spirit Base: Yan Shuangying, 10x Enhanced Edition]. Okay, that sounded a bit more promising.

"Let's see what a 10x-enhanced Uncle Eagle brings to the table!"

Su Chen took a deep breath and tapped the gold card.

"Inherit [Spirit Base: Yan Shuangying, 10x Enhanced Edition]?"

"Yes."

A searing pain surged through him, like nothing he'd ever felt. Knowledge flooded his mind, power coursed through his body, and strange, mystical energies seeped into his very core.

Thankfully, the ordeal was brief. Within minutes, Su Chen had fully integrated the Spirit Base.

"Huff… huff…"

He collapsed onto the sofa, panting heavily, letting the sensation settle. Feeling steadier, he pulled up the system panel.
