Fairy Tail Guild Hall.
Magic Council enforcement officers were urgently relaying information.
"Newborn City has deployed 200,000 troops in a single push, advancing outwards in a fan shape along the Rhine Basin."
"In addition to the previously recorded White Rat Beastmen and Black Pig People, there are also many powerful A-rank Beastmen serving as leaders this time, estimated to be no less than 70!"
"And a large number of giant Magical Beasts!"
"Jinkadi City is besieged and could fall at any moment!"
"Niwawara City is holding out, but with insufficient troops, it can last at most one more hour!"
"In Kama City, there's a young Mage team from Blue Pegasus, so the situation is slightly better, but with 40,000 enemy troops, they probably won't last long either!"
"Ox Bone La City has the Emerald River as a barrier and is temporarily safe, but the enemy Beastmen have giant Magical Beasts, so crossing the river and attacking the city is only a matter of time!"
"In Mal Valley, a 20,000-strong Ratman unit plans to cross the valley directly to attack Magnolia!"
"Near the Nogura Desert, there's also a 20,000-strong Black Pig People unit intending to cross the desert and flank Magnolia!"
"Council Member Agema urgently dispatched me to Fairy Tail for help. The Member's exact words were, 'Little Makarov, you must bring your children to block the enemy's first wave of attack. I will contact other guilds for quick support, and when the message is delivered, I'll also need to trouble that blonde kid to open a portal!'"
After the enforcement officer rapidly spouted all the information like a machine gun, he immediately bowed to Makarov, awaiting the old man's instructions.
Makarov's eyes widened, and he suddenly stood up. The white fur-lined cape behind him billowed without wind, and a majestic golden magic power emanated from the old man's small, withered body.
The floor and roof of the Guild Hall both cracked.
"Children, you heard that!" The old man's authoritative voice was deafening, echoing within the guild. All members stood up in unison, their eyes unblinking, awaiting instructions from this old man who, though usually jovial, was exceptionally reliable in serious matters.
"Ezreal!" Makarov's glowing golden eyes fell upon the blonde young man.
"Leave the support to me. I have the coordinates for all the guild headquarters' cities," Ezreal said with a serious expression. "Also, except for Niwawara City and the Nogura Desert, I don't have spatial coordinates, but I have coordinates for all other attacked locations. I can send people there right now."
Makarov nodded with satisfaction and immediately ordered, "Open the portals now, send people over, and support them!"
Just as Ezreal was about to respond, Laxus directly turned and walked out of the guild.
Makarov's expression changed slightly. "Laxus?"
"Niwawara City is on me. At my speed, I can get there in half an hour." The guild door opened, and the cold night wind made Laxus's black cape flap loudly. His burly blonde figure suddenly transformed into a golden lightning bolt and disappeared into the sky with a majestic thunderclap.
Makarov stroked his beard, greatly relieved. "Since that's the case, we don't need to worry about Niwawara City."
The Magic Council enforcement officer looked up, hesitant. "Makarov, if only one person goes..."
Before he could finish, he was interrupted by a reverent Freed, "That's Laxus!"
The enforcement officer looked at the Thunder God Tribe trio nodding to themselves, feeling a bit awkward. He subconsciously looked around and saw that the surrounding Fairy Tail members were also quietly nodding, with expressions of reassurance, and he suddenly found himself speechless.
At this moment, another person stepped forward.
Marcus walked out of the crowd, meeting the surprised gazes of his companions. He tidied his newly cut hair, stretched lazily, and walked over to Ezreal.
Marcus leaned against Ezreal, looking at Makarov. "For the Nogura Desert, there's no one more suitable than me, right? It's not far from Magnolia, so if I hurry, I'll make it."
"Marcus..." Makarov hesitated for a moment. Although Marcus's strength had grown rapidly recently, placing him among the guild's front lines, there was still a significant gap compared to Laxus and the others.
Cana and Marcus's relationship had grown much closer since they accompanied Ezreal to the Asgard Mountains. Cana rolled her eyes and retorted mercilessly, "That's 20,000 Beastmen. Don't overdo it and not be able to come back."
Ezreal hooked Marcus's shoulder and bent down to look at him, also a bit doubtful. "Are you sure you can do it?"
"Of course..." Marcus drew out the sound, then chuckled, "Not!"
"So, I'll borrow your cat for a bit, and then I'll be fine!"
Ezreal rolled his eyes and snapped his fingers by Marcus's ear. Yuumi, who had been perched on Natsu's shoulder, immediately flew to Marcus's shoulder.
Yuumi stood on Marcus's shoulder, shook her soft blue fur, and her body dematerialized and shrunk. A faint glow appeared within Marcus.
After Yuumi's possession was complete, Marcus's aura immediately strengthened. Although the combat power increase wasn't significant due to the little one's strength, what Marcus valued most was the healing ability.
Although he possessed an elementalization skill similar to Laxus's, he had virtually no fatal weaknesses until his magic power was depleted.
However, maintaining elementalization continuously consumed a lot of magic power. Even Laxus didn't use this high-cost ability very often, only as a last resort to avoid fatal damage.
For a prolonged battle, having a healer was more reassuring.
Utilizing the geographical advantage of the desert and with Yuumi's assistance, Marcus felt he had an 80% chance of defeating the enemy, or at least holding out until reinforcements arrived.
"Then, leave it to me!" Marcus smiled confidently, pushed off the ground, and did a backflip into the air. Fine, bright gold sand suddenly appeared, gathering into a sand cloud that steadily held Marcus aloft.
The gold sand appeared dense and solid, but Marcus seemed to have incorporated some kind of gravity manipulation magic into this skill, as his flying speed was astonishingly fast.
The gold sand cloud carried the green-haired young man out of the Fairy Tail Hall in the blink of an eye, and the strong wind pressure made the tables and chairs inside shake.
Ezreal squinted his eyes and shouted, "Be sure to come back safely!"
Marcus's reply came from far outside the guild hall door, "Don't worry!"
Ezreal shouted with a laugh, "I was talking about Yuumi!"
"Everyone will be safe..." The voice grew fainter and fainter, evidently having flown a considerable distance.
"Tsk!" Cana smirked, "This guy really showed off!"
"Marcus has grown up too," Makarov said with a satisfied sigh, then his expression became serious again. "Cana! Gray! Elfman!"
"Here!" The three called stepped forward, lining up.
"Ezreal, send them to the Emerald River. You all stop the enemy. If you can, wait for the enemy to cross the river, then freeze both them and the river! Try to hold them off until reinforcements arrive!"
"Yes!" The three responded in unison.
Ezreal, who was standing by, had already prepared. He extended his left hand flat, and the sapphire embedded in the back of his hand glowed. Immediately after, a blue-gold light expanded from his palm to human height, forming a clockwise rotating energy vortex.
"The drop-off point is outside the city gate, about seven or eight kilometers from the Emerald River. Be careful on your way." Ezreal instructed.
Cana and the other two nodded and successively entered the portal, disappearing from sight.
