Chapter 13 - Chapter 13 Shadow Wolf

"Well, he's as timid and vengeful as Happy was when he was little," Makarov chuckled, then continued, "Alright, since you can successfully cast Summoning Magic to summon an otherworldly being, you've learned Dimensional Summoning."

"From now on, you need to increase your summoning speed, reduce the size of the portal, improve the stability of smaller portals, and decrease your mana consumption."

"At your current level, if you encounter a sudden battle, your Summoning Magic will be difficult to apply in actual combat."

"Once you can cast Summoning Magic normally in battle, you need to slowly try opening multiple portals simultaneously."

"Truly experienced and powerful Summoner Mages can instantly summon several combat partners at once to fight."

Makarov explained to Ezreal very seriously. Although successfully casting such ancient and profound Summoning Magic on his first try showed great talent, he didn't want the boy to be carried away by excitement.

Being able to cast magic doesn't mean it can be applied in actual combat; magic that can truly be used in battle requires extremely high proficiency.

After all, in a real fight, the opponent won't wait for you to finish a long incantation and summon a combat partner before starting to fight you.

Ezreal nodded seriously; he knew he still had a long way to go.

However, he was somewhat interested in Makarov's statement about simultaneously opening multiple portals and summoning multiple combat partners.

"Guild Master, is this what you meant?" Ezreal raised his left hand again, aimed at the white swirling portal still slowly rotating in front of him, and recited a summoning incantation.

"ל ה י ל ח ם ב ש ב י ל י!"

As his words fell, the portal once again emitted a dazzling white light.

A huge purple two-headed wolf emerged from the gate. What was astonishing was that its size was at least double, if not more, than what he had seen in the canyon.

If the ones seen in the canyon were the size of a wild ox, this one was basically the size of a small car, standing nearly 1.7 meters tall. Its two raised wolf heads reached Ezreal's neck, and its broad back was enough to seat two or three people.

Its body was covered in soft, shiny purple fur, its limbs were strong, and its wolf claws, about a dozen centimeters long, were deeply embedded in the ground. Its two purple wolf heads were as large as red lanterns during the New Year.

The two-headed purple wolf's steps were steady and powerful. It walked out of the portal and stopped in front of Ezreal, slightly lowering its body, baring its sharp white teeth. In its two pairs of glowing green wolf eyes was undisguised malice and vigilance, staring intently at Makarov.

Canyon Shadow Wolf

"This..." Makarov was startled by the huge two-headed Evil Wolf.

From the perspective of life aura, this two-headed Evil Wolf was not very strong. Although its aura was astonishing, much stronger than Yuumi's, it was only barely passable.

Makarov was surprised that Ezreal could stabilize the portal and complete multiple summons on his first use of Summoning Magic, and it seemed very easy for him.

This usually takes at least half a year of training in Summoning Magic to achieve.

Simultaneously summoning multiple life forms requires both mental power and mana from the summoner. Most beginners can only maintain the summoning of a single life form.

"Why did it get so big? In the canyon, it was clearly..." Ezreal patted one of the Shadow Wolf's large heads, a little puzzled.

Compared to the size of the Shadow Wolf he saw in his mind's eye in the canyon, the one he summoned was surprisingly large.

"Is this a life form you don't recognize that you summoned this time?" Makarov asked, looking at the puzzled Ezreal.

"I recognize it, but its size isn't right. In my impression, this guy shouldn't be this big. According to the records of Dimensional Summoning, unless a strengthening-type auxiliary magic is used to enhance it, the summoned life form should be its original size," Ezreal walked around the Shadow Wolf, and Yuumi, in her attached state, also flew up and down curiously, following along.

"It's not strange, it should be because of the magic item on your left hand," Makarov interrupted Ezreal's thoughts, pointing out the answer incisively.

"If I'm not mistaken, the gauntlet on your hand is not on the same level as the magic equipment on your body. It's a very rare piece of equipment that possesses strengthening magic and can amplify the user's magic power. The increased size of the otherworldly being you summoned is probably due to the gauntlet's amplification," Makarov offered his opinion.

"But Yuumi..." Ezreal pointed at the little cat flying around him, about to retort, but immediately stopped, realizing, "That's right, so it amplifies magic?"

Makarov smiled with relief; a smart kid had finally joined the guild. "It seems you've figured it out. Even though it's just a juvenile, and its total mana doesn't seem to be much, its magic effects are surprisingly powerful."

"In that case, this is really good," Ezreal truly hadn't expected that the explorer's gauntlet, in addition to amplifying his innate magic, could also amplify Summoning Magic. This was a pleasant surprise.

"Since that's the case, let's test your abilities too," Ezreal looked at the Shadow Wolf in front of him and gave the command: "Run."

The Shadow Wolf responded immediately, and a faint glow began to emanate from its purple fur.

With a slight push from its limbs, the Shadow Wolf began to run, effortlessly creating streaks of afterimages. Its speed was astonishingly fast; if one didn't open their eyes wide, they would only see afterimages flashing across the field.

"This guy is an agile combat type. In my world, it's a common gray wolf affected by an unknown magical force, causing its size to increase. A few individuals will grow a second head after reaching adulthood."

"It doesn't use magic, but its hearing and smell are keen, its stamina is strong for long-distance sprints, and its vitality is quite tenacious. It runs very fast normally, making it great for travel," Ezreal explained. He was very satisfied; he finally didn't have to pay for taxis, another expense saved!

Running at eighty miles per hour, and with such a large body, it would be very cool as a mount.

"It doesn't matter if it can't use magic. Dimensional Summoning records a type of Magic Sharing magic, where the Summoned Beast can borrow the Mage's magic. Once you learn it, the Summoned Beast's combat power will increase," Makarov nodded, a hint of approval in his eyes. "A good Summoned Beast. Your summoned partners all have great potential."

He paused, then continued, "However, as I just said, you're not yet proficient enough with Summoning Magic. Practice more on your own when you have time, and you can also spar more with your guild companions. I believe they definitely won't refuse."

Ezreal nodded seriously; he also urgently wanted to make Summoning Magic a daily skill.

Being able to summon a reliable front-liner anytime, anywhere would improve his survival ability.

"Tell your wolf to stop for a bit, it's making me a little dizzy," Makarov yawned, his hands behind his back, and slowly walked towards the guild.

"Alright, that's enough for today. Let's head back."

"Okay..." Ezreal waved his left hand, and the white swirling portal in front of him disappeared silently as if wiped away. The cat on him and the still-running Shadow Wolf also vanished.
