Chapter 6 - Chapter 6 Guild Daily Life

After familiarizing himself with his powers, Ezreal slept soundly until noon the next day, a relaxed smile on his face.

He woke up, quickly washed, changed his clothes, and headed to the guild, beginning his life in the magic world.

At noon, the guild wasn't very crowded; about a dozen people were scattered in the hall, eating and drinking, with only three or four guild members present, all minor characters he wasn't too familiar with.

Sister Mira was in a corner, conversing seriously with a richly dressed lady, seemingly entertaining a client. She glanced at Ezreal as he entered the guild and smiled, nodding.

Ezreal nodded in return, then headed straight for the counter.

Laki, with long purple hair and a large red bow tied on her head, was busy behind the counter in a black server uniform.

"Hi, EZ, you're here early," Laki greeted.

"Morning, Miss Laki. If it's convenient, could I get an egg fried rice and a glass of apple juice?" Ezreal replied politely, pulling out fifteen coins from his pocket and placing them on the counter.

"Just like Sister Mira said, EZ is really polite. But, honorifics sound too serious, just call me Laki," Laki said with a smile, pushing Ezreal's money back. "Since you're so polite, this meal is on me, consider it a senior's welcome gift."

"Thank you very much!" Ezreal didn't decline, put the money back in his pocket, and found an empty seat near the counter.

Before long, Ezreal's lunch was brought over by Laki.

"Don't rush your first meal after waking up, eat slowly."

Nodding, Ezreal focused on devouring his lunch.

The egg fried rice, made with an unknown type of egg, was a bit sweet, and the apple juice was tart but not unpleasant.

He finished quickly, gathered his plate and empty glass, and took them to the sink behind the counter.

The sink was piled with seven or eight plates and about ten glasses.

"Need any help?" Ezreal asked.

Laki, holding a pen and paper, was calculating accounts. She looked back and said, "Just leave them there. Those don't need handwashing; a cleaning magic takes care of them all at once."

"Alright, that sounds like convenient magic." It was reasonable for the magic world to use magic for daily tasks, so Ezreal wasn't surprised, but he felt it necessary to find an opportunity to learn this magic later. Washing dishes without getting his hands dirty sounded great!

"Do the other guild members not come in the morning?" Ezreal asked, sipping his juice.

"Those rowdy guys, if they don't have a job, one o'clock is their wake-up time," Laki grumbled.

"Aye, EZ, Laki, good morning!" A blue cat, carrying a small blue backpack, pattered to the counter and greeted them both, followed by a cherry-haired young man wearing a black cardigan short-sleeve, white shorts, and a scarf around his neck.

"Morning, Happy!" they both replied in unison.

"Laki, I want grilled fish~" Happy jumped onto the counter, looking at Laki expectantly.

"Morning~, Laki, EZ. Could I get something to drink? I don't want to eat anything until evening." The cherry-haired young man followed close behind, wearing slippers and looking listless.

"Morning (Morning)"

"One grilled fish, it's being made, will take fifteen minutes." Laki stroked Happy's head, then handed Natsu a drink.

"Natsu, are you sick? You don't look so good." Ezreal looked at Natsu, who seemed on the verge of collapsing, a little surprised. When he saw Natsu eating at the guild last night, he was full of energy.

"Don't even mention it..." Natsu took the glass from Laki, took a sip, and with a pale face, walked to an empty seat at a nearby table, cradling his glass and slumping onto the table.

"Aye, Natsu and I took a subjugation job last night. On the railway from Magnolia to Ginna Cardy City, for some reason, a large number of monsters had gathered on the tracks. Natsu and I set off overnight to deal with it." Happy stood on the counter, waving his two short little hands and throwing a few punches into the air.

"Natsu and I worked together and took care of all the monsters in no time. It's just that the round trip required eight hours on the magic train, and Natsu, he's a Fire Dragon Slayer Mage, gets motion sickness, so he threw up the whole way~" Happy explained, then turned and flew to Natsu's shoulder, who was still slumped over the table.

"No wonder his face is so pale, that really sounds tough." Ezreal nodded knowingly, deeply sympathizing with Natsu.

"Man! EZ! Laki!" Elfman, a two-meter tall muscular man, strode in, his voice as astonishing as his height, already making those around him turn their heads before he even reached the counter.

"One barrel of ale, ten chicken leg meals, hmm, Man!" Elfman walked to the counter, raising both hands to show off his strong biceps.

Compared to his voice and muscles, his appetite was even more shocking.

"Go get the ale yourself, the chicken leg meals will be delivered shortly." Laki, having anticipated this, covered her ears with both hands and said expressionlessly.

"EZ looks very energetic! Truly a Man!" Elfman extended a hand and gave Ezreal a thumbs-up, his other hand still maintaining the pose of showing off his biceps.

"Uh..." Ezreal chuckled awkwardly, still a bit unaccustomed to such strange enthusiasm.

"Looks like you're adapting well, EZ." Mira saw off the client and walked back to the front counter.

"It's alright," Ezreal said.

"Elfman, you should drink a little less ale, okay?" She tilted her head towards Elfman, who was holding a glass of ale, and gently advised him.

"Okay, Sister!" The nearly meter-tall barrel of ale was opened and placed beside the table. Elfman scooped and drank from his glass, and while he replied to Mira, he seemed to have no intention of drinking less.

"Mira, could you please make me a large fruit platter?" Ezreal asked.

"Of course, no problem. Weren't you full enough at lunch?" There were fresh fruits right next to the counter. Mira casually picked a few, sliced them, squeezed some colorful sauces over them, and handed them to Ezreal, asking with concern.

"Oh, weren't you full? I specifically told the chef to increase the portion! Could it be that EZ, like Natsu, is actually a super eater?" Laki next to him looked surprised.

Taking the fruit platter, Ezreal shook his head and said, "Of course not."

"Lunch was great, and the portion was plenty. The fruit platter is a gift."

After speaking, Ezreal walked with the fruit platter towards a corner of the hall, where a black-haired handsome man sat alone, shirtless, at a table.

Ice Make Mage, Gray! A member of the main cast!

"Hello, I'm Ezreal, you can call me EZ." Ezreal walked up to Gray, placed the fruit platter on the table, then bent down to pick up the jacket that had been discarded on the floor behind Gray's chair and handed it to him.

"I just joined the guild the day before yesterday and didn't have a place to stay, so the Master arranged for me to stay in your room for a night."

"Oh, when!" Gray took the jacket, his face showing a shocked expression as if wondering when his clothes had come off. Then he looked at the fruit platter on the table and looked up at EZ, smiling.

"No need to be so polite. Gray Fullbuster, just call me Gray. Welcome to the guild." Gray raised his glass and drained it.

"Thanks..." Ezreal looked at Gray, who had already thrown his jacket back on the floor before even putting down his glass, feeling a bit speechless. How did you manage to take off your jacket while drinking?!

He felt there was absolutely no need to pick it up for him!

Turning around, Ezreal walked back to the counter; he had something else to ask Mira.

"Mira, has the Master returned yet?" Ezreal asked.

"Not yet, it will probably be a few more days. Do you need to see him?" Mira said.

"Yes, I have some questions about magic and wanted to trouble the Master for some advice. If the Master isn't around recently, then who else in our guild is quite knowledgeable about magic?" Ezreal asked very seriously.

"Speaking of knowledgeable, it might only be Levy. But your luck isn't very good; she also took a job and hasn't returned yet. If the job isn't going smoothly, the Master might be back before she is," Mira said.

"Then it looks like I'll just have to wait." Frowning slightly, Ezreal knew Levy; she was also a significant supporting character in the original Fairy Tail, mastering Solid Script Magic and also a book-loving, blue-haired, flat-chested girl with glasses.

He hadn't expected her to be out on a job as well. In that case, the two most intelligent and knowledgeable people in this guild were both absent, so for the next few days, he'd just have to go home after work and read more books.

"If it's not a very difficult question, you can tell me, maybe I can offer you some help. If not, you can also ask the other guildmates," Mira said, very understandingly.

"It's not a very difficult question; I want to learn Summoning Magic!" Ezreal didn't hide his purpose and stated it directly.
