Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: Hahaha, Who's dumb now.

Chapter 9: Hahaha, Who's dumb now.

' I had never burrowed into the ground before to begin with, plus I was sure it would've taken a long time, which I didn't have.'

At this point it finally hit me, I suddenly felt so stupid all of a sudden.

' I can't believe I didn't think of this!' Feeling annoyed by my stupidity, I decided to test out this plan of mine. Glancing around me to make sure Mr centipede was still on my tail, I took a sharp curved turn round a tree but instead of running past it, using the trees body as an obstruction, I ran up it, quickly retreating into its branches.

I watched as the monster centipede went round the tree only to stop when it didn't notice me. It's massive head and sharp mandibles swayed in the air as if it was trying to pinpoint my location and where I had scurried off to.

Since it was distracted, i finally acted since this was my chance.

I ran to the edge of the branch before leaping off. The wind brushed against my little body as I sailed through the air before landing on its back.

The monster didn't seem to notice anything, fortunately for me, I was too light and small for it to notice, but not for long.

[Shape Shift]

-5 MP

[MP: 5/10]

My MP bar had long since refilled so i decided to change out of my little mouse form into something that could do some damage. Light had already briefed me on a creature that fit my requirements.

With long claws several inches in length, a tough hide and black and white fur, plus a size similar to a small dog.

I was a honey badger.

' These look awesome!' I didn't know why but I felt impressed by my weapon set, my claws were frightening and I could feel several sharp teeth lodged within my mouth.

At this moment, the Monster centipedes head glanced at it's back. I was finally noticed but it was already too late.

It's deadly head struck like the wind towards me but I quickly retreated into one of the gabs in its shell.

SHRREIIII!!!!

That was when the chaos began. The monster began to let out ear piercing shrieks as I attacked it's body from the inside.

My body buckled up as the monster began to trash about in pain as I tore through its innards, the constant shifting sensation was disorienting but, I didn't give up. I knew that if I got knocked out now, that would be the end of me, so I refused to stop.

I slashed through its insides in a frenzy, strange fluids that no doubt smelt revolting, assaulted my snout but I continued to cut through its innards. My movements were erratic, meaning I didn't cut in one direction but when around it's body at random.

Sometimes the acidic fluids in it's body would splash against my fur but fortunately they weren't too much, leaving only burn wounds.

The fight felt like it went on forever and I was soon beginning to lose hope it would ever end, this monster was really tenacious.

With the creature dead, I eventually clawed my way out of it's body. Unlike what I expected, my body was completely fine, even all the injuries I sustained while inside it's body were long gone.

I asked Light and he told me it was because of I managed to level up during this endeavor. It was then that I learned that I could actually return to my full health so long as I levelled up.

Staring at the several system notifications Infront of me, I got curious and decided to check out my status window.

I was surprised when I saw the new addition to my status window.

Unallocated stat points.

' So these are extra stat points I can choose to add to any stat I want huh.' I thought to myself Wonder what I should use them on when I noticed something else that was different about my status window.

" My HP and MO went up a lot. How come, I didn't receive any notification for that." I asked Light.

[Your health points and magic points increase along side your vitality and Intelligence stats.]

[The equivalence is 10-1]

[The more you add into those two stars, the more your health points and magic points will increase]

' Oh, so that's how it is.' I thought to myself, staring at my status intently or to be specific, my magic point bar.

" Add all my extra stat points to intelligence then." I finally decided. Magic played a huge role in my victory just now, Honestly, I couldn't see myself winning that battle without it.

[As you wish]

[Allocating 3 unallocated stat points to intelligence]

[Intelligence +3]

[Intelligence: 4→7]

I checked my magic point bar again and was satisfied when I saw that my magic had gone up.

With that settled, I continued to look for any signs of Lennie in my honey badger get up. Now that I was a bit bigger,

I was able to move more quicker and cover more ground.

Soon I came across a rocky outcrop. This place looked a bit barren and dry, without much vegetation.
