IVY
I didn't witness the rest of the school's event for day, Lucien and the guys took me to the school clinic. By the time we got there, the pain in my ribs at become so excruciating that I couldn't breathe properly. The doctor administered some painkillers and then warm compress on the injuries which were already swollen and that was all.
I didn't wake up until 5 hours later, and I did so in a very strange room. The bed was king size, not the dormitory mattress I half expected. The words were painted black, a touch of gray and neon fluorescent lights. The air was gentle but the aroma of musk perfume hung in the air.
"Where am I?" I asked, looking around. "What is this place?"
"It is my bedroom, you are too sick to stay alone in your dorm, so, I brought you here."
I turned in the direction of the voice and my eyes landed on Lucien. He was seated as the far end of the room, a big red textbook placed on his laps.
"How are you feeling now princess? Can you see clearly?"
"Clearly?" Ice squinted to see if something had suddenly gone wrong with my vision but there was only a sharp headache. "I think I can see Lucien, the pain is just too great."
"Understandable." You led healthy deep breath hopped off the bed and walked towards me. "You are going to need help going to the bathroom. There is hot water and a fresh change of clothes in the closet."
"A fresh change of clothes?"
He reached out to gather me in his arms, but I flinched, fear spread across my face.
"What's wrong?"
"I am not wearing anything belonging to Maria. I don't even think I want to be here."
"What the heck is that supposed to mean?" He he raised his eyebrows. "You can't be anywhere else, you have to be with us, with me don't you get it?"
I open my mouth to speak, but he was quicker.
"And no, the clothes do not belong to Maria. Ezra and Ronan went to the boutique, the clothes are for you."'
"Ohh," I leaned unto the pillow and close my eyes. I have never felt such a headache before, I could feel the throbbing in my left eye. "But where are they now? I mean, Cassian Ezra and..."
"Cassie and his currently in town taking a stroll, he is a night person you see. But he will soon be home, he is worried about you. Ronan and Ezra currently are out of town for a game." He answered. "They are both in an hockey team and they are representing the school and also the state. And one day, the country."
"Ohh." I sat up with interest. "I had no idea they were athletes. Oh wow! That's so cool. I would really love to watch their game."
"But you are currently not fit to, come on let's get you that bath."
Slowly, gently, but reluctantly I scooted towards Lucian and he gathered me into his arms. My weight was like paper compared to the taut muscles in his arms. The scent of the mosque cologne was sharper, but now carrying a soft wave of vodka. Lucien's body was strong yet comfy and relaxing at the same time. I fought the urge to rest on his shoulder, but soon gave up on that my resolve.
I used to they daydream about boys, and romance. I mean, I had a crush on the Jared Leto's version Joker a few years ago. I imagine falling into a vault of chemical or doing something nasty and dysfunctional. I used to imagine getting shitalked sexually romantic words me and getting into roleplay. I used to be a normal girl, but my entire world was plunged into darkness after that terrifying incident. And I was not true I would ever be the same again.
"There you go princess." Lucien suddenly announced, placing me into the bathtub. "A warm and delicious bath for you. Now you enjoy yourself, I'll go fix you something to eat."
My eyes remained on Lucien as he walked out of the bathroom and I couldn't help but imagine the tattoos underneath the sexy tank top. All the guys had tattoos, and my thirst to run my hand along them grew ravenous by the day.
Lucien's words were true, the clothes in the closet were new and they were exactly my size. I wounded how they were accurate about it. There was also a plate of macaroni and chicken waiting on the study table as I returned to the room. Lucian was now seated on the bed, but there was a pile of syringe injections and medicine bottles between his legs.
"What's that?" I pointed to them.
"They are your dosages," he answered with a reassuring grin. "You don't need to worry, you won't feel the needle in your skin by the time I'm finished."
"What! Whatever do you mean?"
He shrugged. "I'm in charge of your health. I asked the doctor at the school's clinic to give me your dosage and he did."
"I don't get it Lucien, are you a doctor or something?"
"Yes," he said with a small smile. "I mean I haven't gone to college fully yet. I only take weekend and summer break classes but, I have a few certifications. I can't wait to be in med school. And oh," he lifted his gaze from the pills he was arranging.
"The school's doctor is one of my teachers at the prep school. He trusts my abilities."
"Oh," I tried to focus on my meal while he continued with the bottles and the needles. Isn't it surprising. Someone with so much suspicious mystery was studying to become a doctor. I mean, Lucian had the gait of an assassin in the dark, but here he was fiddling with syringes and tablets.
Or perhaps that was what made him dangerous. Who knows the number of dead bodies he had seen and even dissected. Lucien knew his way around the human body like the back of his hand, he was poison on two legs!
Just then, the door opened.
