I looked towards him but he hadn't even raised his head from the meal.
I coughed turning towards Ronan, a pleasant smile rising on my face. "Okay, let's eat."
Ronan paused for a moment before he smirked and pulled me to the table.
Their gazes landed on me as I sat but none bothered to say a word. I scoffed as I grabbed a plate, serving myself a meal before Enzo spoke up.
"What do you know about us?" He asked. I raised an eyebrow at him, dropping the spoon. My eyes fixated on him.
"You mean me?" I asked.
He smiled, nodding before he crossed his arms. "I've never seen anyone grow so brave." He said, amusement sparking in his eyes. I nodded, trying to ignore him.
I kept my eyes on food, wanting to leave this place soon. I should have never agreed in the first place.
I felt someone's leg hit mine.
I looked up immediately, Cassian was still focused on his food. Ronan looked absent, Lucien was doing something else. Only him.
Enzo, he was the only one with a smirk from across the table.
I smiled, banging the table to startle the others. They looked at me in confusion as a smile rose on my face.
I turned towards the door, and looked back.
"Thanks for the meal, I have somewhere to get to now." I said, pulling a fake smile as I walked away.
Which den had I entered?
I had to walk for several minutes before I finally made it out and thankfully for me, Aria was waiting. She was startled at first after seeing me from afar but on moving closer, a smile rose on her face.
"You are finally out! I was thinking you wouldn't survive the first day." Aria said, pity in her eyes.
I panted heavily, struggling to grab onto her arm for support.
"Are you okay?" She asked, her eyes scanning me with pity. I shook my head, the supplies she brought catching my sight.
My eyes lit up. I stumbled towards it, grabbing a bottle of water to calm myself.
"How did you…know I would need..this?" I asked, finally regaining myself. Aria shook her head as she walked closer.
"I had already heard stories of how far it was from outside. I figured you might not know how to preserve your strength." She said and I nodded, immediately agreeing to her.
"You're right. I really don't know how to manage… but, I was alright on the first day. Why is the second so..?"
I asked, memories of yesterday flashing through my mind.
Aria nudged me, she looked everywhere before she sighed. "I understand that you're exhausted but if we don't get going now, we'll be late."
My eyes scanned the room and sure enough students were scrambling to get to class.
For a scholarship student, of course that would be the first thing on her mind.
"Sure." I struggled to stand, walking with her to the classroom but I was stopped before I could enter.
"What are you doing here?" The lecturer asked, her eyes stern as she looked at me. I stayed there shocked, I blinked in confusion.
"Me? I've always attended this class." I said.
'Well at least for the few days I was here I did.' A thought bounced back as I looked at the lecturer who looked pissed?
"Aren't you the one in the west wing? How can you attend this class? Or you're planning to waste your time here." The lecturer continued and the whole class erupted in murmurs.
My eyes scanned the room and landed on Aria who seemed to be telling me to leave immediately.
"I guess I made a mistake." I said, closing the door behind me.
Even though I didn't know the mistake I made, it was better than standing there aimlessly.
I spent the next minutes searching around for where they attended their classes. Though there were a lot of students around, I couldn't ask any.
They would either think I was delirious or be jealous of my opportunity. Mostly the first one happened though.
I sighed, after I signalled to the last decent looking person and he just ignored me.
Would I have to wait till Aria was done?
I questioned myself, sincerely hoping the grade didn't matter when a voice snapped me out of my thoughts.
"Why are you sitting here?" Ronan's voice rang in my eyes. I blinked, thinking I was just imagining things until I turned around.
He stood there, his eyebrow arched with a plastered smile on his face.
I stammered, trying to speak. "Where..how..why?"
My hands were trembling as I tried to find the right words to say.
He stared at me, trying his best not to chuckle. "Calm down. What exactly are you trying to say?" He asked and I rolled my eyes.
I was struggling all morning to get to class while they just stood there like they were in a parade.
I suddenly realised, my eyes widening as I turned towards the doorway. The crowd froze apart from the other trio who held smirks on their faces.
Cassian was the only one who looked indifferent. Even Lucien that I had never heard speaking was at the edge of breaking.
Only then did it hit me.
Ronan was talking to me. Pushing past his swamp of admirers to talk to me. I was definitely doomed.
My mouth opened slowly, my eyes scanning my surroundings. The ladies had their fists clenched while the guys mumbled to each other.
I didn't need anyone to tell me that my name would be all over the school by afternoon.
I was just trying to stay low-key. I shook my head in frustration, trying not to land a punch on Ronan. He would probably be stronger anyway.
"What's wrong?" He asked, mid-chuckle. He definitely knew what he did but if he was going to play it that way.
I would play along.
I tangled my hands in his, smiling as I looked towards the crowd.
"I didn't expect you to come pick me up. Elder…" I paused as the realisation hit him.
"Brother." I finished and I could have sworn everyone froze.
