Lucian's POV
I spent the rest of the night looking for that damn Blackwood girl. Raven. I'd checked every corner of the mansion, every hallway, every shadowed alcove. Gone. She had completely disappeared. I'd thought maybe she'd go back to her room, but the place had been silent, her scent already dissipating in the air like it had never been there to begin with. I couldn't shake the feeling that I had missed something. But what? What the hell was going on?
By the time dawn started to break, I knew it was time to return to my room. Yes, I have my own room. I don't share. Neither with Tyler, nor with Xavier. In fact, it was rare that I had to share anything. But tonight… well, they were with me.
Tyler had been on edge ever since Raven had disappeared, and Xavier, the calm and collected one, was oddly quieter than usual. As we entered the room, I could still feel the tension hanging in the air like smoke, none of us willing to admit how much the whole situation bothered us.
