My head spun from the sudden impact, and I was surrounded by rubble. I knew dealing with him would be a pain in the ass. If I had known a vampire was here, I would've left the moment the apocalypse started. But these creatures are almost undetectable. They have no unique smell or appearance. It's easy to mistake them for a regular human.
You won't know you're dealing with a vampire until it sinks its fangs into your neck and smiles while ripping out your heart. What's worse is that, with the strength Victor was displaying, I could tell he was a noble vampire. The rarest and strongest type of vampire there is.
There were only a handful of noble vampires left. This prick must be from a powerful clan. He has his own servant, after all. If I killed him right now, I would have to deal with more of these annoying creatures.
With a heavy sigh, I pushed myself up off the ground, feeling a burning ache in my back and muscles.
"Let's put this all behind us. You've got what you wanted. I even let you hit me a few times. If that's not fair then I don't know what is."
"Not nearly," he scowled. "Not even when I drank the blood of all my classmates. That wasn't nearly enough. I thought I would have the pleasure of killing you one by one, but that vice president was too adamant. He forced my hand."
"And now you've had your fill of killing them. Now let the two of us go?"
"Two? It's three. The president is still alive, though barely. "
"I'll let you have her."
"Let me?"
His face turned into a scowl.
"Let me?! You can't let me have anything. I take what I want."
I couldn't help but sigh. His ego was so big that talking to him seemed more of a pain than fighting him. Honestly, talking to my 3 year old sister was less of a pain.
So be it. The claws hidden behind my hands were just dying to come out.
Sharp black claws morphed from my fingertips. My teeth changed into sharp canines, and my eyes turned an orange hue.
Victor stared at me, and a distorted smile grew on his face.
"Uh, I thought werewolves had yellow eyes."
My orange eyes were just another anomaly about me since all werewolves had yellow eyes. Whenever another werewolf saw them, a round of questions would ensue, but other than my family, most would just stay away from me.
"Oh well, not that it mattered."
Victor raised his hands again, aiming to launch the same attack he did before. With a small explosion, the attack propelled towards me at incredible speed. With the bare minimum effort, I tilted my head to avoid the blast.
The attack whizzed past my ear and impacted the wall behind me, creating a sizable hole. Victor frowned when he saw he had missed and, using the same level of speed as before, suddenly appeared in front of me. Whenever he moved, it was like his entire presence was enveloped in dark energy.
With an arrogant smile on his face, he swung his fist at me. I ducked below his blow and slashed at his eyes, blinding him. The surprise caused him to panic.
"Impossible, I—"
Before he could finish his sentence, I ripped out his throat. Immediately, Isabella charged at me, dagger in hand, but her movements were nothing but the lashing out of a child. She was fast for a human, skilled for a girl only 17 years old. But skill meant nothing when you're facing a monster built to kill.
I didn't move; I stood still as she stabbed at me, but the blade didn't even penetrate my skin before it bent.
"How?!"
I stared down at her with an unamused look, but there wasn't even a trace of fear in her eyes.
Interesting…
Just then, Victor healed from the damage I had inflicted on him.
"You fucking mongrel!! I'll kill you!"
"Ready to give up?"
"Fuck you!"
As if shoving my words back down my throat, Victor zipped through the air and launched me through the wall into another classroom next door. Dust and rubble rose into the air as the walls collapsed. The entire building shook from the impact.
"What are you?" Victor sneered. "Werewolves only have one specialty. Such speed and strength should be impossible for your kind. You couldn't possibly have leveled up this quickly."
His questions were a waste of time. Not even I knew what I was. From the moment I was born, it was obvious that I wasn't a regular werewolf, and my parents danced around the topic whenever I asked, making it clear I wouldn't get any answers. Now, the only way I could figure it out was through my bloodline. My bloodline held the truth to what I really was, and it's only by leveling up that I can uncover its secrets.
"Whatever you are, you don't stand a chance."
With a flash of dark energy, Victor appeared in front of me once again. It was then that I decided to stop holding back. Immediately, it felt as if the temperature in the room began to rise. Sensing this, Victor immediately activated his blood technique, causing countless small orbs of blood to form in front of him.
They all grew to the size of tennis balls. Then, in an explosion that caused the entire building to shake and the walls and ceiling to crumble, the orbs of blood fired at me. I weaved through every one of his attacks, each one destroying everything in its path.
I moved with the agility granted to me as a werewolf and dodged every one of his attacks while making my way closer to him. I didn't even need to see them; the vibrations in the air told me everything I needed to know.
A look of panic crossed his face when he saw me appear in front of him. He tried to throw a punch, but I ripped off his hand before he could make a fist. His face twisted in agony, but before he could make a sound, I ripped out his throat once again.
I took my time picking him apart piece by piece with lethal precision. He thrashed around trying to fight back but he was nothing but a toddler against my power. Soon, the only limb left on his body was his head. Just as I was going to finish him off for good, Isabella charged into the room.
"Young Master!" she screamed at the top of her lungs. She had a murderous look in her eyes as she charged at me, but I returned my attention to Victor.
If only he wasn't a narcissistic fool with an ego as big as the world, then all of this could've been avoided.
"My family will make you pay for this," he muttered bitterly as he coughed up blood. "Your entire bloodline will pay for this. You will never know peace as you live. The Veylmont clan always pays its debts in full. They'll hunt you and everyone you know down to the ends of the earth."
"Then they'll die just as badly as you." I responded.
I plunged my claws into his chest and grabbed hold of his still-beating heart. His mouth gaped open as if he couldn't believe this was happening to him. I watched the life slowly drain from his eyes, then I pulled out his heart.
