Chapter 17 - What gave I created...

The moment I injected the werewolf venom into Isabella's system, her eyes flickered red and the white part of her eyes turned completely black. A sudden chill rose within me, but then her eyes changed color once again. They turned a deep shade of orange, just like mine.

With a sigh of relief, I released Isabella, and she fell to her knees, unresponsive, though her eyes remained open.

I read through Isabella's status, feeling a bit confused by the changes. Firstly, her last name had changed to mine. Secondly, she had a primordial bloodline. Could she have gained that from me? That didn't make sense. My gut told me there was another reason for it.

The next issue was her race. What is a hybrid? Could she be a mix between werewolf and vampire? If her parents were vampires, then it meant she possessed the vampire gene. But that gene can only be activated by a noble vampire like Victor.

Could my venom have possibly activated her vampire genes while at the same time turning her into a werewolf? Somehow, I had created a mixture of the two, but what would a creature like that even be like?

I tried my best to imagine it, but it was too hard to picture, so I decided to focus my thoughts on the next issue at hand: the skills I had unlocked. Since Isabella was incapacitated at the moment, I had the chance to go through them.

It said I had unlocked two bloodline skills, Hellfire and Phantom Pack, both of which were at level 1. I quickly scrolled through the status screen and clicked the description for the Hellfire skill.

[Hellfire: A flame summoned from hell itself. It burns away at an opponent's soul, diminishing their life force. This skill doesn't affect those of a certain bloodline.]

I read through the description of the Hellfire skill, and everything seemed easy to understand. Undoubtedly, it would be useful in the future. I decided to give it a try. With merely a thought, a deep orange flame suddenly appeared on the palm of my hand. The flame spread until my entire hand was coated in it.

"If it covered my claws and I used it to attack someone, it would drain their life force. This skill could work hand in hand with my sense of smell since I could basically smell a person's lifespan."

After going over the logistics of the Hellfire skill, I moved on to the Phantom Pack skill and clicked the description.

[Phantom Pack: Allows the user to summon a pack of shadow hounds to do his bidding. They have long traversed the depths of Hades, and now their leader, Cerberus, pledges his allegiance to you. The pack will only get stronger and bigger the more you level up. For now, you only have 5 members.]

I activated the skill, and immediately, a pack of black dogs crawled their way out of my shadow. They had an ominous smell of death surrounding them. Most of them were on the scrawny side, but the leader was bigger.

He had blood colored eyes and smoke puffing out of his nostrils. Crimson-colored claws protruded from his paws as he bared sharp fangs that could end someone's life with a single bite. The beast, Cerberus, approached me, and I immediately went on guard until he bowed before me. Following his lead, the rest of the hounds also began to bow.

It was strange. I also had a bond with Cerberus and the others, meaning I could feel their emotions and intentions clearly. I stretched out my hand and started petting him, which caused him to whimper before licking my hand with his giant pink tongue. As if feeling jealous, all of the other hounds approached me too, and I was forced to give pets to every one of them.

Some of them even rolled over onto their backs so I could rub their bellies, which brought a smile to my face. Soon, however, they all retreated back into my shadow. I felt satisfied with the skills I had been given.

I then turned my attention to Isabella, who was still on her knees, frozen in place. With a tired sigh, I lifted her up and left the classroom. The first thing I noticed when I stepped into the hall was Liora still lying on the ground in a pool of her own blood. She looked relieved when she saw me.

"So you still haven't healed yet?" I asked, placing Isabella on the ground beside her.

"I'm not as fast a healer as you. His attack pierced my spine, so I'm paralyzed from the neck down."

"I realized. When do you think you'll be finished healing?"

"Maybe by the end of the day."

I couldn't help but sigh which caused her to frown.

"Hey, this is your fault. If you had stepped in earlier, this wouldn't have happened."

"Yeah, yeah," I fanned her off. "I guess I have no choice but to carry the two of you."

"Two?! President Ava is alive too! I know you can hear her heartbeat."

"Yeah, but she'll be dead within a few hours, so what's the point?" I argued.

The moment I said that, Liora's face twisted in rage and her eyes glowed yellow.

"What's the point?! What's the point of you carrying that bitch who tried to kill us?!"

"It's complicated. I'll explain later."

If looks could kill, I would be a corpse. But if she didn't get her way, she wouldn't stop nagging me. I could already imagine her yelling at me for the rest of the day.

Sigh.

"Fine, I'll carry the three of you out. Happy?"

"Sounds like a fool's errand," she said. "There are bound to be more zombies outside the building than there ever were inside. You can't possibly fight them all off while carrying the three of us."

"Don't worry, the zombies outside the building are all taken care of."

"Taken care of? Meaning they are all dead, b-but how?!"

"You'll see when we get there."

Liora pouted and looked at me with a hint of wariness in her eyes. I then lifted her up and placed her over my shoulder, then did the same with Isabella and President Ava. I carried the three of them out of the hall until we were finally outside the building.

Liora's eyes widened in shock when she saw all the zombies lying dead, their bodies piled up into one massive heap that was as big as a small hill.

"Who could have done this?" Liora asked in a quivering voice.

Her question was quickly answered when a figure appeared in front of us. It was a delinquent in his early twenties. Someone who should have been in college but had dropped out of high school.

He had silver hair and a devilishly handsome face. His muscles were well-toned, making him look like someone who went to the gym regularly. On his shoulder was a three-year-old girl who was clearly sleeping. She hugged his neck tightly and rested her chin on the top of his head. The girl had white hair just like the young man and a face cute enough to pass for a princess.

A menacing grin appeared on the young man's face when he saw us.

"Hey sis, little bro Liam, how you two doing?"
