Chapter 3 - After death

"AGH!!" Rover jolted awake, his face filled with terror as he looked around.

This place was a space of endless black, dotted with faintly glowing white orbs that shimmered like weak stars—far too dim to illuminate the vast emptiness.

He looked down at his hands and realized he still had all his limbs. Breathing a sigh of relief, he muttered, "This place is… what?!"

[Congratulations. You have arrived at the Isekai Center.]

"Isekai Center? Don't tell me…" Rover's eyes widened as he heard the mechanical voice.

He'd read plenty of webnovels before—he knew exactly what "isekai" meant.

It could only mean one thing.

"Don't tell me…" Rover's voice trembled. "I… I died, didn't I?"

[Correct. But you are fortunate. You've been chosen to live another life in a new world.]

"Ah! Really?!" Rover exclaimed with joy. "Amazing! Isekai… hahaha… I'm getting isekai'd!"

Isekai—a dream for every man. Now he was finally living that dream.

[However, the world you'll be sent to and the identity you'll receive will both be random.]

Rover: "..."

"You've got to be kidding me." Rover sighed, rubbing his temples. Still, after thinking it through, he decided it was fine. Being alive—even in randomness—was better than being dead.

"Wait!" Rover suddenly frowned, as if realizing something. "Before I get isekai'd… can I see what happened after I died?"

[Why?]

"Obviously, I want to know why those crazy women killed me!" Rover shouted angrily. "Goddammit! If those lunatics hadn't murdered me, I'd be living a great life right now!"

"I just want to see what they did after killing me, that's all."

[Very well.]

In the next instant, Rover was pulled into a familiar scene. Yes—the very room he'd been imprisoned in.

Seeing what lay before him, Rover couldn't help but curse, "Goddammit! What the hell is this?!"

Before his eyes, the seven women were cutting his corpse into pieces.

Selvia, the doctor once hailed by the medical world as the Divine Doctor, was now calmly handling the severed parts, placing them one by one into jars filled with formalin.

Sixteen jars—each containing a piece of his body. Even his manhood had its own separate jar.

"Ew!" Rover gagged, almost vomiting. "Goddammit! These women are completely insane!"

Each woman carried two jars away. Even his blood had been drained with a specialized device and stored in a blood bag under Selvia's supervision.

It was clear they had planned everything meticulously—this wasn't some impulsive act of madness.

Now, only two jars remained on the table—one holding three fingers and a liver, and a clear plastic bag containing several of his teeth and strands of hair.

Everyone left. The room fell into a suffocating silence once more.

Even though Rover was merely a projection generated by the Isekai Center, seeing his dismembered body filled him with deep disgust and dread.

After a long moment, the door creaked open again.

"Heh?! That's… Merina?" Rover shouted when he saw who entered.

Even though the woman was wearing a thick hoodie with the hood pulled up, a mask covering her face, and baggy sweatpants, he recognized her instantly.

"That bitch!" Rover growled through clenched teeth. He was certain—eighty percent sure—that everything that happened was connected to her.

After all, his clients didn't know each other. He'd never have exposed that information. So who else could have leaked it and brought them together?

Only Merina, the genius hacker, had the ability to pull something like this off.

She walked into the room, both hands gloved, plastic covers wrapped around her shoes—careful not to leave any trace behind.

She picked up two jars of formalin and the plastic bag containing his teeth and hair, then quietly left the room.

Rover sighed, shaking his head in confusion. "These women… why the hell did they do all this?"

Once, he would have been furious—he would have hated them for what they'd done to him.

But now, things were different. He was already dead, yet he'd been granted a second chance to live his dream life in another world.

Besides, he had no family left in this world, no attachments, nothing to hold him back.

So instead of anger, what filled him now was a kind of puzzled disbelief.

Whoosh!

The scene shifted again. Rover found himself inside a small room filled with various outfits and a large vanity mirror.

Beside the mirror sat a beautiful girl with an angelic face, her innocent and lovely demeanor enough to make anyone want to embrace her.

"Marika?" Rover immediately recognized her. "I just hope she's not as crazy as Catherine."

Although Marika had only been his client for two years, he had always known that beneath her pure and gentle appearance, there was something slightly twisted about her.

At the moment, she was alone in the room. Marika took out a small box, set it on the vanity, and opened it.

"Goddammit!" Rover shouted. "I'm sorry! I shouldn't have underestimated your level of insanity!"

Inside the box were several of his teeth and a small glass jar of formalin—inside that jar floated his eyes.

Even worse, some of his teeth had been polished into smooth, pearl-like beads and strung together into a necklace and earrings.

Marika gently stroked the pieces, then put the pearl necklace around her neck and the earrings on her ears.

Every "pearl" was made from Rover's teeth.

Seeing this, Rover instinctively touched his own jaw, feeling an ache in his gums.

"Rover…" Marika whispered to her reflection in the mirror. "You said I was always away on tour, that I never had time for you. But now, it's different. Now, we can be together forever."

"Forever… never apart again. You'll always be able to see how beautiful I am on stage."

"Rover…"

Rover shuddered. He remembered saying that exact thing before she kidnapped him—that she went on tour too often, so he used his free time to take other clients.

He never imagined she would remember that line… or go this far because of it.

"Wait! I can understand her wearing jewelry made from my teeth, but how the hell did she get that jar of formalin past airport customs?" Rover muttered in disbelief.

BAM!

"Who?!"

The door burst open violently, startling Marika. She turned toward it and saw a massive woman—easily over 170 cm tall, her body wobbling with layers of fat that quivered with every breath, as though they might burst through her dress at any moment.

Even worse, she was holding a knife.

The huge woman glared at Marika, panting heavily, her eyes filled with pure hatred.

"You… you're…" Marika stammered in fear, trembling. "I'm sorry, this is a private dressing room. Please… please leave."

"You…" the woman growled, her voice thick and venomous. "You're the one who killed Rover."

"You…" Marika suddenly realized something and immediately said, "You were also his client?"

"Yes." The girl answered. "More than a client—I loved him, with everything I had."

"Hahaha… hahaha…" Marika burst into laughter, her smile full of contempt and sarcasm. "You? Hahaha…"

She laughed for a long moment, then stopped, sighed, her expression entirely different from before.

The angelic, innocent image adored by tens of millions of fans had turned into a madwoman.

Marika sneered, "Have you never looked in a mirror? I admit Rover needed money, but he's not so low as to sign a dating contract with a pig like you."

Crack!

The fat woman tightened her grip on the knife until the sound of joints cracking echoed.

"Angry?! Hahaha… Come on." Marika laughed. "Try chopping me once, then?"

"You bastard!" The fat woman ground her teeth, tears streaming down her face, then—

"AGH!!!" She lunged at Marika, her bulky body surging forward, the rolls of flesh trembling violently.

Marika faced her without fear, smirking with contempt as she reached behind and pulled out a sharp dagger.

"You think you're the only one with a weapon?" Marika laughed wildly and swung the blade at her.

Smash!

"What?!" Marika was startled when the woman didn't slow down at all, using her whole body to crash into her. "Damn you! You—"

BAM!

The knife in the fat woman's hand was useless, but her body was not.

Her more-than-120kg weight crushed Marika; there was a single crack and then nothing else.

The fat woman slowly stood, seeing Marika pinned to the ground with a broken neck, eyes wide—she couldn't even believe that she had been killed by a pig.

"Rover…" the fat woman murmured, "I will avenge him. I'll kill you all to avenge him."

Rover watched the scene, sighed, shook his head, and softly said, "Enough. No need to watch anymore."
