Chapter 13 - 13: Reward: Frostmourne!

The otherworldly livestream room instantly fell silent.

Tony and the others stared at Loki, their faces full of disbelief, as if they had just heard the most absurd thing in the world.

[Tony Stark: Whoa, whoa—Thor, that's way too unbelievable. Mind explaining it more clearly?]

[Thor Odinson: …According to Father, Titan, the world Thanos came from, collapsed into ruin because of overpopulation and resource exhaustion.]

[Thor Odinson: So Thanos came up with a mad idea—to wipe out half the population of Titan to ease the crisis.]

[Stephen Strange: That… that's genocide! He really is insane.]

[Thor Odinson: Not only that, after he slaughtered half of Titan's population, he tried to force that twisted philosophy upon the entire universe.]

[Peter Parker: The entire universe!!! You mean he actually wants to—]

[Thor Odinson: Yes. To wipe out half the population of the entire universe!]

As that barrage scrolled across the screen, from Asgard to Kamar-Taj, countless people gasped in horror.

Wipe out half the people in the universe!

The shocking revelation hit like a bombshell, leaving their minds blank with disbelief.

Mordo's eyes bulged, his pupils tightening sharply as he turned toward the Ancient One in alarm:

"Master! Is this truly what's going to happen in the future?"

The Ancient One's expression didn't change. Her eyes narrowed slightly as she answered calmly:

"The future is what we make of it. Now that we've been warned about Thanos… someone will stand in his way."

On the plaza of Kamar-Taj, many apprentices had gathered to watch the livestream.

Moments ago, Thor's words had left them pale with shock. But hearing the Ancient One's firm reply, most of them finally let out a long breath of relief.

Even so, Wong turned his head slightly, glancing at the Ancient One with a trace of worry in his eyes.

Because just now, the Ancient One had not directly answered Mordo's question…

[Tony Stark: This Thanos guy really is a lunatic. Who else would even think of doing something like that?]

[Stephen Strange: The worst part is, this lunatic thinks he's some kind of savior—that his actions are saving the universe!]

[Peter Parker: I never imagined… there'd be such a terrifying madman in the cosmos!]

[Tony Stark: But now I get it. It's exactly because of this maniac's obsession that Loki acted the way he did in the future.]

[Stephen Strange: If he "only kills half," that also means the other half gets to live, right?]

[Peter Parker: So Loki chose to sacrifice himself in exchange for Thor's survival. That's… that's incredible!]

[Loki Odinson: …Are you kidding me?]

Loki suddenly roared, his voice brimming with both fury and confusion.

His feelings toward Thor had always been complicated.

Since childhood, Thor's strength and outgoing nature had made him beloved by Odin and adored by the people of Asgard.

He had always stood far above Loki.

And for that, Loki had always carried envy in his heart.

Moreover, he could vaguely sense that Odin's attitude toward him and Thor was somewhat different.

So, Loki had always carried one wish—to prove before Odin… that he was more outstanding than Thor!

Yet, in this future shown on the screen, he actually sacrificed everything for Thor, even his own life.

What was going on?

From now until that future, just what had happened that would cause him to become like that?

For the first time in his life, Loki had never so urgently wanted to know what would happen in the future!

"Wait, predicting the future!!"

Loki's expression changed, and he suddenly remembered something.

In the system's announcement, it had been mentioned: as long as one successfully answered a question, aside from random rewards, one could also earn livestream points.

And with those livestream points, one could request to view scenes from one's own past and future!

Thinking of this, Loki suddenly lifted his head.

Only then did he realize—the other three in the livestream were all silently watching him, their eyes full of emotion.

"To save your brother, you'd even willingly sacrifice your life."

Tony let out a soft sigh, his tone carrying newfound respect.

"I can hardly imagine doing something like that."

As an only child, Tony had been sent to boarding school at a very young age by his father.

So, when it came to familial bonds like those between parents and siblings, he was somewhat lacking.

It was precisely because of this that Tony was the one most moved by Loki's actions.

Meeting Loki's slightly puzzled gaze, Tony spread his hands and said frankly:

"Since it was because of your brother's information that we managed to find the correct answer, then… naturally, you should be the one to answer."

Beside them, Peter Parker and Stephen Strange didn't speak, but neither showed any intention of jumping in to steal the answer.

Relying on the brother's information and then stealing the younger brother's chance to reply—that was something the ever-prideful Strange would never do.

"You all…"

Loki took a deep breath, his eyes growing complicated.

But he wasted no time, raising his head and answering loudly:

"I choose D: Thanos kills, but only half. Only if Loki dies can Thor live."

[Ding! Loki Odinson has answered. The system is determining…]

[Ding! Loki Odinson answered correctly.]

[Loki Odinson has gained 100 livestream points, which can be used to request past or future scenes related to himself.]

[Loki Odinson has obtained a random reward… Reward: Frostmourne!]

[Reward distribution complete.]

Very quickly, a massive blue-and-white greatsword, as if forged from pure ice, appeared before Loki!

At the same time, a stream of information surged into his mind.

[Frostmourne — A lonely blade of ice. Within it, thoughts are magnified, souls reborn through corruption, and calamities spread in sorrow. It cannot stop; it can only destroy.]

[Light as a feather, cold as frost. Its endless power continually draws the fallen toward it. Yet it favors those who have endured extreme tragedy, granting them the power to exact vengeance on the world—bringing ruin and disaster upon it.]

[Ability One: Frost (When wielding this sword, one gains the power to command snow and ice, though ordinary beings cannot withstand the terrifying chill it radiates.)]

[Ability Two: Soul Drain (Upon killing an enemy, it will absorb their soul to strengthen the wielder.)]

[Ability Three: Scourge of the Undead (When activated, it can raise an army of undead from the surrounding environment.)]
