Chapter 4 - 4: Reward: Gungnir!

The moment the system's voice ended, the livestream chat exploded with activity.

[Mordo: I'm saying, Thor, is your relationship with your brother really that bad? Or… is this just how Asgardians are?]

[Stephen Strange: Yeah, blatantly abandoning someone to die like that—it's really chilling to watch.]

[Loki Odinson: ...…]

[Thor Odinson: Hmph! What nonsense is this weakling sorcerer spouting? The Loki on the screen did exactly the right thing.]

[Mordo: ?????]

[Peter Parker: Huh? Thor… aren't you risking your life?]

[Thor Odinson: I am Thor, the God of Thunder! A noble Asgardian warrior. If I ever truly fall to an enemy, it will only be because I am not strong enough!]

[Thor Odinson: Conversely, if that Thanos truly wants the Tesseract, then I cannot let him succeed!]

[Thor Odinson: So… Loki! Well done! That is how we Asgardians act! Hahaha…]

[Mordo: You… you…]

[Tony Stark: Are you sure you're Asgardians and not Spartans?]

In Asgard, Queen Frigga shook her head helplessly, and Odin on the throne felt the urge to palm his face in exasperation.

Thor, that foolish son of his, how could he be so single-minded?

Meanwhile, in the livestream, Loki let out a long breath. A sly, signature "mischievous" smile returned to his face.

"Thankfully, Thor's brain is all muscle, ha…"

Chuckling softly, Loki immediately refocused on the system's question.

He thought for less than a second before answering aloud:

"The answer is A: Loki!"

To Loki, the question was far too simple.

After all, the "himself" on the screen had clearly chosen to watch Thor die rather than give up the Tesseract.

As long as this "Loki" could use his illusions to distract Thanos and find a chance to escape the spaceship, it would be a perfect outcome.

Though… Thor was somewhat pitiful, Loki couldn't possibly die alongside him.

Just then, the system's cold voice rang out:

[Ding! Loki Odinson has submitted an answer. Judging now…]

[Ding! Loki Odinson answered incorrectly.]

[Random penalty applied: one-third of Loki Odinson's magic erased, executed immediately.]

"I… I was wrong?"

Loki's eyes widened in disbelief, and he cried out in shock.

As he did, an unprecedented wave of weakness swept over his body.

His magic, personally taught by Queen Frigga and honed for nearly a millennium, ranked among Asgard's top sorcery.

And now, half of the power he had cultivated over a thousand years seemed to vanish into thin air.

Loki's face immediately went pale, cold sweat appearing on his forehead, his anger and confusion indescribable.

Just then, a calm voice spoke into his ear:

"I choose answer C: Thanos."

Loki whipped his head around. The middle-aged man in the monk's robes was speaking his answer.

[Ding! Stephen Strange has submitted an answer. Judging now…]

[Ding! Stephen Strange answered correctly.]

"Ha…"

Stephen Strange exhaled slowly, a small smile forming on his face.

It was obvious to him that Thanos had already gained absolute dominance on that spaceship.

Neither Thor nor Loki were likely to escape his grasp.

Therefore, the Tesseract could only end up in Thanos' hands!

Soon after, the system continued:

[Stephen Strange earns 100 livestream points, usable to view past or future events related to himself.]

[Stephen Strange receives a random reward… Gungnir, Odin's Spear.]

"What?"

Sitting on the throne of Asgard, Odin looked up at the massive screen in the air, almost thinking he had misheard.

The Gungnir was his personal weapon—who would dare treat it as a reward?

At that moment, Odin felt his right hand go slack and instinctively turned to look…

His hand was empty. The golden Gungnir had vanished without a trace.

[The Gungnir has been granted to Stephen Strange… successfully bound!]

[From now on, Stephen Strange shall be the sole owner of this spear.]

[Reward distribution complete.]

Asgard, the Great Hall.

Countless citizens stood frozen in place, staring blankly at Odin on his throne, their expressions numbed and eyes dazed.

The weapon of the mighty All-Father of the Nine Realms, Gungnir, had been forcibly "taken" without anyone noticing!

How was this possible?

"Your Majesty, you…"

Queen Frigga's face was full of embarrassment. She wanted to console Odin but didn't know how to begin.

"Damn it."

Odin clenched his empty right hand into a fist, his facial muscles twitching, cheeks flushed red with anger.

As a father-level god and the King of the Nine Realms, when had he ever endured such a thing?

But beyond his anger, Odin truly felt an unfamiliar surge of terror, almost making his heart race uncontrollably.

Unbelievable!

Someone had actually taken his weapon right under everyone's eyes, without them noticing!

To accomplish something this incredible, just how powerful was that mysterious system?

At that moment, in the livestream chat, Loki's face was full of envy. He finally couldn't hold back and pointed at Stephen Strange, shouting:

"Mortal! How dare you possess such a divine artifact? Put down the Gungnir immediately!"

"Hm?"

Stephen Strange's eyes flashed, coldly meeting Loki's gaze.

At the same time, Gungnir in his hand emitted a brilliant golden light.

"What?"

Feeling the boundless divine power contained in the golden glow, Loki's scalp tingled. He instinctively took a step back, exclaiming in shock:

"You… you really control the Spear?"

Odin's Spear could unleash powerful beams of energy, and once thrown, it never missed its target!

It was infallible.

It could pierce through anything it struck!

Even a god, if hit head-on, had only death as an outcome.

This spear was undoubtedly Asgard's strongest artifact and, to some extent, symbolized Odin's royal authority!

Just looking at the golden divine light emanating from the Spear made the hairs on Loki's neck stand on end.

He would die!

If struck by this divine spear, even ten lives wouldn't save him.

But… how could this be?

How could this mortal possibly wield such a fearsome weapon?
