Locking the left of the life energy in their channels and hiding places.
Though at the exact same time, a number of individuals also experienced a similar thing, but not all.
Waking hours later, Roman was suffocated by the apparent weakness of his body.
With a lingering sense of tiredness, he struggled to take in his surroundings.
From what he could tell he was alone.
Uncertain of his parents whereabouts.
He knew he was still in the room where he was born.
After a moment, Roman searched for the life energy within him with trepidation and hope.
And in a few seconds the life energy emerged, coating his body in a protective blanket.
Though Roman did note that keeping the energy from leaking had oddly become second nature without any effort.
Playing with the energy, slowly getting familiar with it.
Drowsiness soon greeted him again.
This was just one of the reasons why this world's energy was so hard to grasp.
It was not some natural resource abundant everywhere.
It was somebody's existence, their very life.
Through it death could come from just practicing or even awakening it.
While it can be awakened safely it requires immense skill, passion and strength.
Not something everybody can achieve, but of course there are always exceptions.
Perhaps more exceptions than natural awakeners.
These exceptions are numerous but are mostly caused by awakeners interacting with normal people.
With the human race being a social species, this isn't rare.
If someone is talented enough, or a fast enough learner it isn't impossible for these exceptions to arise.
Especially when the hard part of finding this energy is solved for you.
Though infants were an exception to this rule, not requiring talent or wit.
They had the strongest survival instincts, allowing them to harness their life energy if unnaturally stimulated with great ease to preserve their life.
Something that Roman didn't gamble on, it was something he knew from this fantasy world.
A world in which he had enjoyed watching through a TV for a brief period of time.
Though as time passed and Roman woke up again, this time in his mothers arms being breastfed from one side and cleaned from another.
He summoned his life energy once again, ignoring his mothers presence.
This time attempting not to pass out too fast.
While attempting to perform the universal skills synonymous with this world and its power.
One in particular that would allow him to grow his capacity for this energy, another strengthened his energy.
Though both were extremely draining. So he set them aside for the time being, focusing solely on increasing his skill in manipulating this energy.
From shaping the energy into different forms, to increasing his speed at taking this energy in and out of his body.
This was all he could do until he grew up enough to move around.
Years passed uneventfully. While everyone else foreign to this world and not knowing anything about this world grew up like normal people.
The few that knew of this world attempted desperately to awaken this power Roman had awakened on his first day.
Some took weeks and others were still struggling.
But very few, less than five, were like Roman. Awakening and nurturing this power since day one.
It was unfair, but it was the way it was.
One such youth could be seen atop a gloomy mountain with dark hair, meditating with intense concentration, as the skies seemed to be evoking something profound.
Two small elders emanating dreadful power watched with a silent cold gaze.
Another youth far away wandering a waste land was deep in thought, but this youth's life energy seemed to have a life of its own.
Fluctuating in a random rhythm, the youth paused, seeing an elder with strong presence and a murderous aura.
In contrast another youth even further away in a tribal house sat with an elder, both with erry crimson eyes.
More could be mentioned, but not everyone was involved with something interesting.
Roman for example could be seen looking over a flight of stairs with a young girl with mint green hair.
Their gaze was locked below them, a scene of tables filled by chatty people being served plates of steamy food.
This wasn't a restaurant, it was home.
On the first floor was a kitchen and a large dining room. Indeed a restaurant. But above there were beds and living rooms.
Looking behind them four adults could be seen.
Two couples, one with similar appearances to Roman and the other had a similar appearance to the girl beside him.
Roman wasn't born into a waste land like some, nor a rich and strict household like others.
Roman was dead set in the middle, not poor or rich.
He lived with his parents and their friends, together they were business partners.
But to him, it didn't matter who he was born to or how much money he had.
He cared little for these people, he wasn't a psycho. But he had already experienced being a part of a family.
He didn't want to replace them, or drag these people into the dangers he was sure to embrace.
He wasn't cold or warm but he wasn't very outgoing to begin with. Focusing solely on himself.
From birth to now he was quiet and studious. Focusing all his heart into becoming strong.
Glancing to his side, he couldn't help but be slightly cautious though.
This little girl with mint green hair was a year younger than him, and followed him around everywhere.
But this wasn't any cause for concern, it was her identity that was the problem.
Anybody who knew this world they were reborn into would probably recognize her.
This was because this was once an imaginary world back on earth. One conjured up to entertain people.
A world with a story, and in this story this little girl appeared.
Even though she wasn't important or very known. She existed and that caused him to be concerned.
Solely due to the theories of the butterfly effect and fate in his past life.
Roman still wasn't very sure how he should handle this situation.
Especially since he had most certainly already affected her fate the day she was born.
That was because he had gifted her the same power he had awakened on that very day.
It was a lesser known fact within this world's story that a baby's instincts were so strong that when coming in contact with life energy, and awakening their own.
They could instantly grasp this energy in order to save their lives.
Though it was an even lesser known fact that, while these babies would develop great skill with their life energy.
It was actually better to awaken this energy later, when you had formed an identity.
But for Roman who had already formed his identity from his last life, it was more beneficial to awaken this energy as soon as possible.
The reason he awakened this girl's life energy was a test, a test to make sure this energy operated by the same logic in the story.
To test the accuracy of the story he had remembered.
To know what he went through when he awakened this energy.
Because since he came to this world, he had been filled with doubts.
Doubts that might not be entirely logical, but he had to resolve them to feel confident and not restrained in this dangerous world.
"Roman." He felt a nudge and glanced at his childhood friend of this new life who just spoke.
"I'm all done. I'm gonna go help uncle Lewy in the kitchen." She spoke, showing an empty plate that she promptly brought with her.
Descending the stairs to go help out.
This was one of the only things that brought Roman some comfort, her interest and passion with cooking was still the same as in the original story.
Sighing in slight relief.
As for the significance of identity with life energy.
Well Roman was only now about to explore its mystery's.
It was about time that he had trained his life energy to an acceptable degree and felt confident pushing it further.
Glancing at his own half empty plate and glass of water.
Roman took out a piece of lettuce from his meal and placed it in the glass of water.
Then holding the glass and channeling his life energy into the cup, the lettuce began to sway, eventually dancing around the top of the water.
A reaction clearly indicating a part of his identity.
