Robinah had a dream , she saw Alex kissing her burnt self and promising to marry her. He even gave her a ring and buried her. She woke up sweating. The dream felt so real like it had happened to her. She couldn't go back to sleep and decided to brainstorm on her project subject. She wanted to start her project early when school opens. She tried but she couldn't focus she kept replaying the scene in the dream which reminded her of the forehead kiss. It made her heart beat accelerate.
" Are you asleep." She hit sent before she could think.
" Can't sleep." The reply came immediately. Alex hadn't been able to sleep. He kept remembering how his girl looked stunning in that red dress.
" Yeah, what are you doing?"
" Just going through some documents." He lied. She was still young to understand his struggles. Even he himself felt like a pervert coveting such a small girl.
" Ooh I won't disturb you then." She was disappointed and he noticed.
" You are not disturbing me. Do you need me for anything?"
" Can I come over?" She just wanted to see him . She couldn't understand herself anymore.
" Okay let me open the door."
She changed her night dress and left quietly not to wake Grace up. Immediately Alex opened the door, she jumped into his arms and hugged him tightly. He noticed something was wrong about her mood. He held her and made her sit on the couch.
" What is wrong?"
" I had a bad dream."
" Can you tell me about the dream?"
" Well, grandma died, I died in a fire and you married my sister." She said half truth half a lie.
" Silly girl, it was just a dream. I won't marry anyone else if not you." He was happy the girl came to him for consolation. It meant she saw him as her pillar of strength and was even afraid of losing him.
Alex held her for sometime and noticed she had fallen asleep while talking. At least she felt safe in his arms. He carried her back and placed her on the couch before fetching his blanket for her. He went back and drifted off to sleep. Her scent helped calm his mind. He planned to let his family know about her when she turns seventeen.
The following days came and went by quickly. Grace would leave early in the morning and come back in the evening tired from the work stress. Her relationship with Jason had progressed rapidly. He was now her boyfriend and she had told Robinah she would make it official soon. Alex kept taking Robinah to different beautiful places to enjoy herself. One day she even kissed his cheek and ran off. He had been left dazed and his mind confused. She actually kissed him on her own initiative. After that she began avoiding him . She was shy. He had to work hard to make her comfortable around him to avoid such incidences .
Today was the eve of Christmas, Robinah was decorating the house while Grace and Jason went to shop for groceries. Her grandma was in the apartment garden enjoying fresh air. Alex had left early in the morning without a word. Robinah had noticed he seemed sick but each time she asked he avoided the topic. She decided to wait for him to talk to her about it.
Robinah had been busy with the decorations when she received his call.
" Help me, am downstairs." He managed to say before ending the call. She rushed downstairs and found him near the elevator. He had collapsed.
" Alex, what happened?" She asked helping him to stand. She had enough strength to carry him back to the apartment. She had been practicing and going for the assassination tasks posted within or near Nine city. She was fit. After carrying him back, she went to her room and collected her medical tools before coming back. She removed his shirt and started performing acupuncture. She had just secretly observed his symptoms and knew he was poisoned.
After half an hour, he woke up. He was shocked that he had survived the relapse. He had been looking for the divine doctor this past few days. Today he had received news and rushed out only for the poison to replace. He rushed back only thinking of her and she actually saved him. But why was she angry.
" I have helped you deal with the poison but it will take some time to find the right drugs to completely eradicate the toxins from your body. Rest for now." Without looking at him, she packed and left.
" Is she angry?" Murmuring to himself, he sent her a message requesting to see her but she ignored him.
" Could it be because I didn't tell her about my sickness?"

The next day being Christmas, they had a small celebration and exchanged gifts. Robinah cooked nutritious meals considering Alex was sick but she still didn't talk to him.
Her grandmother noticed her sombre mood. " What is making my girl frown?Who made you unhappy? Tell me and let me teach them a lesson.
" Am fine grandma, I just remembered something unpleasant but I am okay." Even she didn't know what was happening to her. She actually was angry with Alex and didn't want to talk to him but still missed him.
" Okay smile more. Frowning makes you ugly." She knew she was lying .
" Hahaha, who could be more beautiful than my small sister? " Grace laughed.
They joked around and eased the mood. Grace announced her relationship with Jason and everyone was happy for them. Grandma even blessed them.
They played some games till late in the night before Jason and Alex left. They said they would be going home and will be back after the new year.
" Can I see you tomorrow morning before I leave." Alex didn't want to leave anything unresolved to avoid drifting apart.
After waiting for a few minutes,she replied
"Okay."
He wished her a good night but got no response. She was really angry this time. Normally they would ignore each other for a a few hours before resolving any issues.
Robinah was woken up by Grace. " Alex is at the door asking for you." She had told her.
" What is the time?"
" It's already 9am."
" What! I overslept." She rushed out of bed and freshened up before taking a class of juice with her to Alex's apartment.
" Why are you punishing yourself for my mistake. I am sorry, I should have told you." He said moving to sit next to her.
" If you really saw me as an important person in your life, you should have told me from the start." She smiled bitterly. If she didn't have the memories of their past life. She couldn't believe him but she had to.
" I am sorry, I really didn't want to burden you. I was poisoned when I was young . Sometimes it relapses but I have been researching for an antidote while looking for the divine doctor. I have medicine that helps compress the toxins and make them inactive but this time round they failed. Thanks for saving me, I thought I wouldn't survive it." He held her hands nervously. He was afraid she wouldn't believe him .
" Well I know. I was just angry. I don't even know why am really angry with you. But if you had told me earlier, you could have been cured along time ago."
He smiled to himself, she didn't know she loved him. That is why she was angry because she felt betrayed.
" I didn't know you have such medical skills. Forgive me please."
" Well I know the divine doctor, he taught me everything before his death. I have forgiven you but don't hide anything from me again." She felt better.
" Okay from now on I will not hide anything from you." He promised
They talked for about half an hour before Alex left. Grace went to see them off. Alex didn't want to leave but his grandparents had called him back to celebrate the new year with the family. He promised to call and text her everyday.
The new year celebration were simple on Robinah's side. She talked to Alex on the phone after their meal. Alex had been pissed off by his stepmom and his father . Receiving her call helped alleviate the mood. He didn't like going back but this time his grandparents insisted and he had to comply. He would have liked to celebrate it with her.
