Chapter 6: "Meeting the Roommates"
Bang! Isabel pressed the doorbell, and Nell looked at her mom, both of them guessing that someone was inside. "Trisha?" Isabel called out, but there was no response.
Isabel looked anxious and was about to turn the door knob when the door suddenly opened. "Tri...oh Gabriella," Isabel called out, as a girl emerged from the room.
Gabriella was a stunning beauty, with features that seemed chiseled from marble. Her long, dark hair cascaded down her back like a waterfall, and her piercing blue eyes seemed to gleam with intelligence. She wore a pair of trendy glasses perched on the end of her nose, and her slender figure was clad in a sleek black dress that accentuated her curves.
"Ladies, this is Gabby, a roommate," Isabel said, with a warm smile. "Gabby, this is Nellie."
Nell smiled at Gabby, who merely nodded and turned to enter the room, leaving the door ajar. "Ladies, come on in," Isabel said, leading the way.
As Nell entered the room, she gasped in amazement. The room was more like a luxurious house than a hostel room. It was a large, three-in-one bedroom, with three comfortable beds arranged in a row. Each bed had a study table beside it, and there were three large wardrobes against one wall. Three black doors led to different rooms – a kitchen, a living room, and an ensuite bathroom.
Nell's eyes widened as she took in the opulent décor. The room was tastefully furnished, with elegant curtains and plush carpets. She spotted an empty bed with a window above it, and guessed that it was hers.
Gabby emerged from the bathroom, and Isabel asked, "What happened to her?" nodding towards one of the beds.
Gabby replied, "She got a headache, so she decided to take a nap." Her voice was deep and melodious, yet it had a cold, detached quality to it.
Nell's gaze was drawn to the girl lying on the bed. She was a blonde, with her hair tied up in pigtails. She wore a white plain t-shirt and baggy khaki pants, and seemed to be sleeping soundly, oblivious to the commotion around her.
Isabel smiled at Nell. "Okay, this will be your room till you complete school. I'll be leaving you for now. Your roommates will assist you with anything. Feel comfortable here, Nel."
"Thanks, Izzie," Mrs. Lavender said, as Isabel headed towards the door.
Isabel nodded in response, and left the room
