Summer, a season of scorching heat
That most complain about,
Forgetting the many juicy fruits it bears
Just thinking about them would make
Anyone's mouth watery
Flowers in full bloom filling the air with
Their sweet fragrances
Making the dull streets colourful
And hopeful
Summer is a time for children
They would play,
Go out with their little friends
The girls having pic nics in the meadows
The boys rolling up their trousers
And running barefoot on the grass
They would play by the lake
They would play house outdoors,
Eat ice cream, climb trees
And pick fresh fruits to eat
They would go boat rowing
In the lake of shining waters,
Give names to alleyways,
Play with their dolls outdoors
As mischievous as they can be
Then come back home for tea with
Leaves in their hair and dirt all over them
Giggling and laughing
They would have quite the appetite
And re count their adventures
To their mothers happily
Without children and their minds
Full of adventurous notions, curiosity
And imagination, life would be dull
Children are grateful for every little thing
And I think adults have much to learn
From them as well
Hopefully all children would grow up
Into hopeful adults as well
They would bloom like the flowers
And bear delicious juicy fruits
